It's an adorable, soul warming , plain old fun, relatable, down to earth, a fun peak with right amount of geekiness, and probably one of the best queer, fake dating + enemies to lovers book.

Highly recommended 💕

The sapphic enemies-to-lovers and fake dating sports rom-com the world deserves. In this quintessential YA contemporary, two arch rivals strike a bargain, after a fender bender presents them both with an unexpected opportunity. Scottie wants payback. Her girlfriend dumped her right before transferring schools and she has to play against her basketball team every weekend. Enter Irene, captain of the cheerleading team, and Scottie’s salvation. Irene wants nothing more than to be taken ser

I could probably come up with something coherent to say about this but all I’m thinking right now is “sports sapphics!!!!!”
She Drives Me Crazy is a little bit ridiculous in the best way possible. Quindlen expertly balances creating three dimensional characters and exploring the impact of toxic relationships with all the campy trappings of a 90’s rom com. With a fake dating scheme for the ages between two sworn enemies, the only one bed trope and a Christmas town setting, She Drives Me Crazy is the most unapologetically fun book I’ve read in ages.

My first ever Kelly Quindlen book is a success! I’d heard that the stre

Kelly Quindlen is excellent in making me fall in love with her characters. Her previous book's - Late to the Party - main caharacter was in love with her friend group, too, just like Scottie, just like me throught them.
Irene, Honey-Belle and Danielle were amazing. I adore every one of them.
Plus Honey-Belle is the coolest name out there, and based on her personality, she is literally my dream girl.

Three things I didn't like:
- the first chapter. it was the epitome of "please, for the lo

This book was so cute I can't even function anymore! Irene and Scottie have stolen my heart<3

She drives me crazy is the story of Irene and Scottie, high school rivals. Both hate each other.
Scottie just broke up with her girlfriend Tally and lost spectacularly to her in the basketball game. And she is now extremely embarrassed. And there is only one solution to show her ex that she is okay. No not only okay but better and moved on.

And there is only one way for t

The moment I finished reading the very last page of this book, the first thing that came to my head was relief. Not because of the ending itself but because I finished what seems like hours of misery.

I understand that what this book represents is important to a lot of people, and a lot of people adore this book. I'm not one of those people, but me not belonging to that category is in no way me invalidating anyone who did. If you enjoyed this book, good fo
i adored this fluffy, tropey, adorably heartwarming 80s-inspired romcom!!

i've never cared much about sports stories (unless it's a league of their own or something), but sapphic enemies-to-lovers fake dating between basketball star and cheerleader?? yes please.

one of the book's strengths is its well-rounded cast of characters. scottie's angst is relatable, and her love interest irene is amazingly powerful. i loved watching their dynamic shift as scottie learns there's more to irene than her popu

⇢The Plot
I think this book was really your typical heartwarming YA novel, complete with the tropes and cliches we all know and love. It was super light and funny, but with a good balance of angst and character growth, which made it really enjoyable.

Basically, this was a fun and quick read, but it doesn’t get 5 stars because it was lacking in the depth that I need to rate a book 5 stars.

This is my consecutive fourth ARC where the theme is toxic relationships and have to say it's one of the ones that handles it best. This was not just a cutesy romcom as I expected it to be but also a much intense story of healing and moving forward.

A big part of the book is about Scottie moving on from her ex and healing from their toxic relationship. This book honestly portrays the messy process of getting over a breakup and describes how badly a abusive relationship can damage one's self estee

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. "She Drives Me Crazy" is a YA-coming-of-age novel, about our main character Scottie, in her senior year of high school. Suffering from heartbreak after her ex-girlfriend Tally breaks up with her and moves schools, Scottie becomes dead-set on finding any way to make her jealous. In a stroke of luck, the most popular cheerleader in school, Irene, agrees to pretend to date her. The only problem is that t ...more

Fake dating? Characters obsessed with 80s music and movies? I’m in!! You get all of this and more in Kelly Quindlen's latest YA rom-com, She Drives Me Crazy .

Scottie hasn’t quite gotten over the fact that her girlfriend Tally broke up with her and then transferred to the more exclusive, rival high school. (She also can't seem to get over Tally.) Facing Tally at a basketball game, Scottie and her team get humiliated, and she wants to get even.

Leaving the game, she gets into a fender-bender wi

She Drives Me Crazy took tropes I typically didn’t care about, and made them incredible! Fake dating and enemies-to-lovers has never been so enjoyable in YA contemporary. I adored everything about this, especially the characters!

Such a fun enemies to lovers romance! And it's ACTUALLY an enemies to lovers romance, which I loved. Scottie isn't over her ex-girlfriend who recently broke up with her and transferred to their rival high school. In order to make her jealous, Scottie decides to pay her nemesis, Irene, to fake date her since she knows Irene needs the money after running into Scottie's car. I really loved how much development we had for the characters and I really loved Irene's storyline. Irene is a cheerleader tr ...more

This book releases next week and I couldn't be more excited. Telling Scottie & Irene's story was the most fun I've ever had writing a book. I was inspired by the classic teen romcoms of the 80s, 90s, and 00s and I tried to honor their tone - but with a sapphic twist :) I hope folks enjoy the read.

The virtual launch party will take place on Instagram Live (@kellyquindlen) on Wednesday, April 21, at 7 pm EST.

sapphic enemies to lovers + fake date + sports + rom com + beautiful cover?
This is a must read now!!!
THIS is how you do a YA enemies to lovers story! She Drives Me Crazy was everything I hoped it would be and a bit more. It's cute, a quick read, has some fun tropes, but also tackles some larger issues in a way that is really applicable to teenagers. Plus I really fell in love with both of the characters. Here we follow Scottie, a basketball player still hurting from her ex-girlfriend breaking up with her and Irene, the cheerleader ice queen who has bullied her in the past. When a fender bender ...more

This book is my favorite type of rom-com. Characters that are equal parts sweet and snarky. A town that may be small but has huge personality. Jokes that are funny without being cloying. Kelly is so, SO good at this writing thing. Trust me when I say this book is the instant serotonin boost we could all use right about now (or in April, you know, when it comes out).
