Rhys Huntington

I went to Las Vegas to marry my fiancée but ended up married to my best man instead. Considering Im a straight man, I never imagined I would wake up in bed with a husband. We obviously need to get an annulment to undo our mistake. The only problem is, it turns out my feelings for Luci aren't quite as platonic as I thought.

What are the odds that my bad idea

2.5 Stars. Soapy. Melodramatic. Silly.

I ended up revising my original review , to end on something positive instead of negative

I don't think, I read the same book as all the 4 and 5 stars reviewers did; as I found it to be predictable, melodramatic and silly.

What I had trouble with:
👬There is little to none character development .
🙈The plot has more holes than Swiss cheese.
🙊Narrative is written with every single formulaic , romance and fairy tales clichés there is.

Luci and Rhys have been best friends since they were toddlers. They had a connection on every level but romantically and sexually until a drunk decision before Rhys wedding leads them legally married to one another.

Bet On Love was a fast paced, friends to lovers, low angst book that has a very satisfying HEA. I really enjoyed it because of how well the two mcs fit together and the authors writing style made it a very easy, fast read for me. If youre in the mood for something to lift your

GFY has always been one of my favorite tropes and lately, it's not been as easy to find good ones as when I first started reading MM. Bet on Love definitely is a good example of why I love GFY, or in this case, double GFY.

Luci and Rhys have been BFFs their whole lives and even if they were each other's first kiss and first (botched) handjob, they've always been drawn to women. Now, with Rhys just about to marry his fiancée in Las Vegas, Luci is afraid Olivia will make Rhys put an end

When best friends Luci and Rhys wake up married, will they stay married or stick it out and figure this formerly platonic relationship out?

As friends to lovers, wake up married romances go, Bet on Love is pretty awesome. Luci and Rhys have that chemistry and that easy familiarity that only the best of and longest of friends have and when the attraction heats up? FIRE! I loved how sweet they are together, how they get each other, and the whole fairy tale-ish feel this story has. Though this is

I enjoyed this one. I really liked watching Lucien and Rhys figure themselves out and figure out their relationship with the fact that they both thought that they were straight, but eloped. A lot of times in books where one guy turns out to be a little less straight than they thought they were, there is a lot of stressing out about how to label their sexuality, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in a storyline, but sometimes gets a little overly dramatic. There isn't any of that here, instead, ...more

Sweet, romantic, a little tense at times, with some funny moments thrown in. Bet On Love is a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed. Rhys is getting married, but is it for the right reasons? His best friend Lucian, aka Luci, doesn't want it to happy, but why? In a chain of drunken and not so drunken events, they end up married, the wedding is canceled, but that isn't the end to the stories. I loved the characters, and while the theme isn't the most original, it was a fun and great read with a ...more

Funny, adorable story!!

This is a new to me author. I'm definitely going to be checking out her other stories! This novella was exactly what I needed at a time like this. Best friends to lovers, gay for you, my favorite trope. I love when two 'straight' guys realize their love for each other runs deeper than they thought. It doesn't hurt that they have explosive chemistry!! There was no angst. Rhys and Luci are perfect for each other. As they start talking about their "bad idea", you just know

Bet On Love is the first book in the Good Bad Idea series by A.F. Zoelle. It's a best friends to lovers story. I really liked it.

This was such a sweet easy read, with characters that are adorable. I loved that it was low angst, and a quick friends-to-lovers story. It was a little predictable, but it was still enjoyable. Good overall read, and I look forward to seeing where this series goes.
*Received A Copy To Review From The Author*

A cute fun ridiculous quick read. It's pretty basic, but I enjoyed the soapy drama of it all. The characters were likable enough and I just went with the sudden attraction/acceptance. You just have to throw all to the wind and go for the ride. I'd happily read more in the series.
I received this book from Gay Romance Reviews in exchange of an honest review.

Meet Luci (or Lucien) and Rhys (or Leopold, but please don't call him that unless you want him to burn to a crisp :P). These two have been childhood friends (and oh yes, much more though both were eager to pretend they were not). Rhys is about to get married to the wicked witch of the west, which is what I would call Olivia based on what we read and then later on what she does, but wants one last night with Lucien.

Do you know what I love about reading? When I get to read a story by a new-to-me-author and then subsequently decide this will be a one-click author for the rest of the time.

I simply fell in love with this book, the characters, the storyline, the banter, the drama, the HEA. All of it.

Luci(en) and Rhys were a fantastic couple to read about. Two best friends end up married after a drunken bachelor party in Vegas the night before Rhys' wedding. When hilarity over a drunken mistake turns out to open

A fantasy world of their 👬 own: a mostly miss for me😒

Sorry, but this story was not one I particularly enjoyed. The plot was too contrived and the characters did not really win me over.

🤔From chapter one it just raised too many questions for me about the mental capacity of the main protagonists, Luci and Rhys. They both came across as oblivious until, whoa, all of a sudden a light shines down and they go for a romantic relationship?! They're swigging back beers left and right, joking

Ok, so if this happened to some of your friends in real life, would you question their intelligence and sanity? Sure. Does it make for great, sweet, romance if you just go with it? You bet! This was an author I was not familiar with, but the plot sounded light and fun and I decided to give it a try. I am certainly glad I did. In Rhys and Lucien we have two best friends that have been teased frequently about how close they really are. For Lucien, that hits a bit too close to home because he has ...more

So sweet, hot, funny and just plain wonderful!

I really loved Luci & Rhys! Such a unique take on the clueless best-friends to lovers trope. From mates and besties to married and confused? I loved the injected wit and cute cluelessness of both characters as they realize they are and have been in love with each other since they were teens. I enjoyed the dual POV and getting into each characters head.

This story has humor, wit, love and care and a nice amount of

OK, if you want a love story with a realistic timeline and plot this might not be the book for you. However, Bet On Love absolutely delivers a fun, sweet friends-to-lovers tale sappy enough to warm the coldest of hearts.

Lucien and Rhys are in Las Vegas in preparation for Rhys' upcoming wedding to Olivia when a staggering case of cold feet brings on one of Rhys' patented bad ideas, which results in them eloping. Whilst trying to untangle the mess they've gotten themselves into, the best friends

Luci, short for Lucien and Rhys are really cute together. I just wish it was a tad longer, so that we get a bit more background on the characters. They do take the oblivious bestfriends in love to a whole new level. Everyone already thought they were secretly dating!

It's a short, sweet and a sexy read. It does have a lot of the cliché tropes but if you're looking for a quick fun read, it doesn't matter. I did think it was a bit too dramatic, especially at the end when Luci was being stupid. I

Prepare to Suspend Your Disbelief

This book was written by a new to me author, but I was totally hooked by the promise of my two favorite tropes: best friends to lovers and fake relationship. I must say that the book delivered on both promises, and I was satisfied with the execution. There's even an over the top, ridiculous female villain AND a silly conflict thrown in the mix to really satisfy my inner drama queen, so what more could I ask for?

Normally this is where I would say "but here's where

If you enjoy gay for you romances, AF Zoelle's Bet On Love is just that.

In Vegas for his wedding, Rhys suddenly confesses to Lucien "I wouldn't have to marry Olivia if you were a girl." What follows is a great mix of sweet, sexy, romantic, and steamy.

This friends to lovers romance is just delicious. Two "straight" men, who suddenly start discussing that they were each other's first kiss. Two "straight" men who suddenly come to terms with their feelings for one another.

I love Rhys and Lucien.

This is a fabulous friends to lovers/husbands romance. Rhys and Luci have clearly been friends forever as there's already a strong bond between them even before they take the drunken step into matrimony on the weekend of Rhys' wedding.
This was a lot of fun to read, especially when revealing the result of their night to the most lovely (read: sarcasm) bride. With how well the two know each other, it's surprising that there was no recognition/action of any attraction to each other before

Wake up in Vegas MM Romance

3 stars!

I love a good drunken Vegas wedding and when you end up married to your groomsman instead of the bride all the better. I really loved these MCs and I liked their dopey secret pining, it felt plausible.

What didn't feel plausible was all the convenient timing. One MC needed a passport...well we are in luck he doesn't have a driver's license so he carries his passport around. Does that happen in real life?!? It seems crazy. Happening to run into your ex while on

So this is a new author for me. I read the blurb and just had to read it. I love friends to lovers stories. I now have a new author to add to my list of favorites.

Rhys and Luci have been best friends for forever. They have always counted on each other. Always been there when they are needed. They know each other better then anyone else. But Rhys is about to get married and Luci hopes that he wont lose his best friend. What they never expected was to end up married to each other.

I truly enjoyed this book from start to finish. The premise of the book took me by surprise. Best friends who find themselves married, but the way this comes about in the book is new and refreshing. Getting to know Lucien and Rhys and watching them grow as a couple after being best friends for so long. They were each other's first kiss and although they both dated women over the years, neither of them were happy.

The story unfolded in a way that wasn't angsty. The way Lucien developed into a

My first by A. F. Zoelle by definitely not my last, what a enjoyable fast reading well written book about friends to lovers that leaves you feeling good when your done. Luci and I have been best friends forever and now that I'm getting married to Oliia I'm wondering why, she is everything I don't want in a partner. So after my bachlor party, kinda drunk I convince Luci to marry me Vegas style, and we do but in the morning after we wake in bed together I wonder if this was the right thing to do. ...more

I thought that this was a really adorable story. Best friends Rhys and Luci impulsively get married in Vegas just a couple of days before Rhys is due to marry his longtime girlfriend. This pair have been mainly oblivious to the attraction between them although it's not as big of a surprise to their nearest and dearest. I loved watching the slow realisation that maybe getting married to each other isn't a mistake but might just be the best thing that ever happened to them. Super cute and I can't ...more

A lovely fairy tale, that kept me smiling from beginning to end. I loved the MCS, Luci and Rhys were both funny, the exchanges between them and some of the secondary characters was first class, and proved what this author is capable of.

Simply a lovely upbeat story, where our MCS, after a slight misunderstanding, come to their senses and realise how much they love one another. Very little angst, and lots of joy. If you're short of a reason to smile, read this. It certainly cheered me up no end. 3

So very disappointed. Loved the premise and intent, however the execution was not up to par. Unnecessary melodrama and lack of emotional maturity. Id swear this was a pre-teen love story. There were moments when i was excited, but it was mostly cringeworthy dramatic antics. The intent for the personality types did not hold through by the end.

And to top it off, just when I thought Id made it through the story without The Big Misunderstanding, it gets slipped in there with very poor execution. And

Bet on Love by AF Zoelle is the first book in the Good Bad Idea series. I had such a fun time reading this contemporary m/m romance about Rhys and Luci who wake unmarried to each other instead of to the woman who was supposed to be the bride. I love these two men together... the solid foundation of their friendship, the love that everyone can see... they are one of my favorite couples I've met this year. Best friends to lovers

Wow! This is a new to me author and I was blown away.
This book was exactly what I needed right now.
A lifetime of friendship developed into so much more with Rhys and Luci both afraid to lose each other if they changed their status quo.
Romantic, sweet light hearted fun with just a touch of angst and characters that have an amazing emotionally deep connection.
I can't wait for the next book and Ambose and August's story.
