Colombian Cartel King captures his Queen!

I actually really liked this book. It’s funny how books and movies can make almost anyone likable. Even a completely brutal Columbian Cartel leader, named Victor that lords over his people and keeps everyone in line through fear and retribution. He is not portrayed as a guy who lets the little things go. Like when a pick-pocket tries to grab his wallet and disrespects him. He cuts off the guys hand in the middle of a busy marketplace in order to show eve

Holy mother of all clichès!!

That's right! This book was a epic hodgepodge of all the clichès ever known to criminal-hero-novel-reading womankind!

I'm keeping this short and simple!

Victor Cordero is the King of the freakin' Colombia (this shit alone is mentioned about 250 times in this book -- that's minus 1 star alone!!) and on his free time, he is just a cartel's boss (boring, I know!)

He is hard, ruthless and cruel but only until our heroine appears!!

wow this book is perhaps one of the best Mafia books i had ever read. it's violent and raw, with some details of torture.

i like the consistency of Victor's character, he's pretty much an asshole from the start to the end of the book, but he definitely has his way of making readers drawn to him. being cold and ruthless, he doesn't asks or begs, he takes.
For Sofía, she's rather feisty and brave but there were instances where you see a hint of her innocence and naivety.

This has been in my kindle for a while and decide to read it and I really enjoyed it. Nothing like bring a Cartel King to his knees like a feisty woman paying for the crimes of her father's sin.

Victor Cordero has inherit the kingdom in Columbia from his father and been groomed to be sadistic & cruel with no feelings due to a women betrayal. Which he vows to NEVER fall again, as we all know never say never. Sofia Montero is sweet and young and have her whole life ahead of her and decides she want

If you are looking for sunshine and rainbows you need to move on. This book is dark and may contain a trigger or two for some. Even though it is dark it is delicious Victor's yummy-ness will have you turning the pages.
Victor takes King of a$$holes to a whole new dark and dirty level. I am not gonna lie I didn't feel like I was gonna care for him. Fyi I freaking love him!!! His dark, demented, and twisted mind is so delicious. He is ruthless and makes no qualms about it. Sofia is young and very n

When I was immersed in this story I did not imagine that I would win my heart.

He knew it was a story with a king of the Colombian cartel who was known as Diablo in person.
Later, as I went deeper, I met Sofia, a girl full of dreams and hopes and with a short-lived life.
One more day everything she believed for her life turns around and Sofia is forced to make a deal with Devil.

Wasn't sure if I was going to like Victor or not but I ended up LOVING him! I'm not sure who was trying to tame who in this read. Sofia with her sassy attitude, she was strong willed when most would not of been. She was exactly the woman Victor needs by his side. Loved this book, once I picked it up last night I couldn't put it down. Amazing 5 star read

Love and Hate are such strong words....they also cause so much pain

Victor Cordero is brutal, cold blooded and unmerciful with people who lie or stab him in the back. He is the King of Columbia after all. He rules with an iron fist, as did his father before him. He treats women like objects that are only good for one thing, giving him sexual satisfaction. He made a mistake once by falling in love with a woman who got past his emotional barriers. She betrayed him, it did not end well. He vowed nev

What a delicious, dark and dirty read! I'm a lover of anything Mafia style, and this book delivers it in spades! Victor is called the Devil for many reasons, and when when he takes Sofia, he knows she is a bit of a spitfire, but can he tame her? While Sofia may be payment for a debt, she is definitely a strong woman who will defy him at all times. But for how long? While Victor has plans for Sofia, can he follow thru? These two characters have some major chemistry that just sizzles on the pages! ...more

The Devil's Plaything is a dark mafia romance by Dani Rene and is told in dual POV.
"Victor Cordero is the devil. Cruel. Sadistic. Heartless." The King of Colombia is as ruthless as they come and believes that falling in love would make him weak. I fell for Victor Cordero almost immediately. He is cocky and arrogant and a complete asshole yet with every despicable act he committed I found myself falling harder. There was just something about him that had me so enamored with him. Dani Rene sneaks

The book had potential, so much potential - in fact I finished it hoping the author would through with it..
It started off very strong, as strong as the heroine actually and then bam - the inconsistencies start.
We literally have to hear about him being king of the castle and whores just being breakable and disposable - it was mentioned at least 50 times.
Then hero goes all very wish washy on us. He wants to own his whores, use them, do dirty things to them, tear them up from one whole to another,

I love mafia, and this is a really great example of the genre. A compelling, dark read with an implacable anti-hero and a vulnerable heroine who remains strong and resolute against immeasurable odds.

Victor is a particularly dark character, but Sofia shines with enough light to provide a counterbalance. I absolutely adore the relationship between Javier and Victor. Javier’s the kind of friend who dares to say it as it is, and that’s no mean feat, considering the man he is saying it to.

Be warned - this read is not the darkest one I have ever read, built some parts of it can trigger someone.
The story starts with Columbian mafia boss (king of the city) Victor that is noted by his people of some dealings behind his back. NO ONE, I REPEAT NO ONE can do that and leave untouched. Same goes here - the payment is needed, and this payment will be young girl Sofia, that due to that will become "Devil's Plaything".
Sofia, she has dreams, like BIG dreams and she wants to achieve something

sh*t i liked it up to 70% when he freaking let her go with his rival for a misunderstanding knowing well that what he will do to her, she was raped and then he saved her and she forgive him immediately WTF???
Now, i read a lot of dark books ok? i had other rape scenes, but i can't accept a HERO letting her go to his enemies ! NO NO NO, i get it he was hurt but i rather he kept her at distance and in a cell than gave her to a mad man knowing that he will use her. 😣😣😣🤬🤬🤬🤬

The Devil's Plaything is everything and more you would want in a wicked Mafia Romance. It's one of those romances that you'll want to savor so the ending doesn't creep up on you, and one that will linger long after the last word is written. I know for certain that certain scenes are still ingrained in my mind (*wink wink)!

The Devil's Plaything brings us to a dark and dirty mafia story with Victor at the helm as the king. Victor learned everything he needed to know from his father and he will be damned if he will let it all go away. Even falling in love is not in the cards for him.

Sofia is a beautiful young woman that knows she is on borrowed time. Things are going down around her that she has no control of. Sofia's life is now in the hands of a monster that is the king of drugs and guns in the country she lives i

This was a great cartel romance that was filled with suspense and romance throughout. As the characters were developing we learn a lot about both Victor and Sofia as individuals but what truly pulled me into the story is when they’re together and witnessing their interactions with one another and feeling their chemistry as well as every emotion they’re feeling jump off the pages. There were moments that I was questioning particular characters motives and was surprised at their actions in the

Wow what a story. This was another superb read by this author.

Victor and Sofia are complete opposites. Victor is the devil who is given Sofia as a payment. He’s called devil for a reason. Sofia is a very likeable character and love how she was portrayed.

Dani does dark in a fabulous way and this was an epic read that I inhaled in one sitting.

Absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read more from Dani.

This book will reel you in and you better hang on. Such light and dark in this book. Sofía is payment to Victor simply because of her father. His heart is definitely in the right place but can she survive him? Excellent writing.

I am a lover of all things dark, the darker the better actually. I think there’s something inherently honest about dark romance, the grit and violence that accompanies them speaks to my soul. Having said that I was very excited to read this the blurb piqued my interest and I was all about it. However, it just missed the mark for me on a few aspects.

He chuckles darkly over the speaker. The sound is utterly devastating, and I know I’m making a deal with the devil.

The Devil's Plaything was a dark & twisty read which not only kept me on the edge of my seat, but kept me enraged throughout most of it. I was not the least bit surprised that Sofia fell for bad boy Victor, what red bloodied woman wouldn't. Looks, money, power and a hell of a sex drive, now that's a man I could sleep beside at night.
