This is my first time reading something by Setta Jay and I am ready for a world of Gods and goddesses. I love the writing style and this was quick little story to help get me through this rough time. I appreciated that Sage was such a badass and I can’t wait for much more. I love a beautiful HEA she deserved it. 😍🥰

I am a huge Setta Jay fan, her Guardians of the Realms series is one of my favorites. This book takes place in the same world, but years later. Sage comes to the resort to see her sister that works there. She gets her powers from plants, and when she goes into the gardens, all that power goes into her and the plants start protecting her, keeping her there. Lucius is immortal and runs the resort, his mate calls to him, he’s the only one the plants allow past. Because of her being mortal, she’s no ...more

Oooh, my book friends! This one is a decadent romp into a sexy world created by the fabulous @settajayauthor !! It’s a prequel that sets the stage for her new, In Blood Series. This one even comes with a warning

**Warning this title contains dirty talk, bad language, and erotically charged scenes meant to scorch your e-reader."

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Slake His Thirst was a white hot temptation that amped up my thirst for more of her PNRs and I am completely smitten with Lucius and Sage was a sassy heroine that I absolutely adored! For such a short story, I was 100% delighted and surprised on how much was in it. I didn

Setta Jay has come out with a new paranormal and I'm loving it. This is a promising start to a great series to come. Loved the soul mate insta-love vampire scenario.
Super excited to see where she takes this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read from one of my favorite authors. For those who haven't read the "Guardians" series, I think this story will definitely pique one's interest in picking up the other stories set in this world. And for those who are already fans, this is a quick and satisfying fix if you've been missing this universe. It appears this short story is the opening for a new series; if so, I'll definitely be looking out for the next book to arrive. ...more

Really not much of a story. Sage submitted to Lucius' mate claim without really questioning. Majority of the second half was sex and bonding. I'm fine with sex, but the story needed more...story. Would have been okay if this portion was part of a novel instead of a novella.
A deliciously dirty listen! I had to keep turning it off as my daughter kept walking in!

Lucius runs the resort that has featured before in the Guardians of the Realms series. There's s new visitor he isnt happy about but once he sees her his drawn to her.

Sage has magic, she is human+ you could say, she's excited to visit her sister. Unfortunately/fortunately this trip isn't going to run to plan, it's going to get hot!

Lucius and Sage have a connection, they're mates and this story rotates around

Slake His Thirst is first in the upcoming In Blood series set in the same universe as Setta Jay's previous Guardians of the Realms series.
This short novella is a great introduction into the near futuristic world where humans live alongside supernatural races such as the immortal Aletheia, the race responsible for the vampire myths.
While being fast paced due to the nature of being a novella, the information drop

In this new series In Blood this may be book .5 but it is an off-shoot of the Guardians of the Realms series. Although it is in the same world, this one can absolutely be read as a stand alone! I recommend the other series because it is excellent but it isn't necessary to read it before reading this one. In this first one we get the story of Sage and Lucius. Sage has come to the Aletheia resort Slake to not only see her sister but to see their gardens. As a Mageia whose power is centered in plan ...more

★ Hot, fast-paced story, delivers enriching background details - great preview of what is to come ★

—>>> Nothing is greater than a call of a mate, and Lucius is drawn to Sage when she arrives at “Slake” the pleasure resort owned by his family. Not trusting his newest guest, whom he knew was a potential troublemaker as a former bounty hunter and now bar owner, Lucius investigates this alluring woman personally, and finds much more than he bargains for when he catches up with her in the conservator

I listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast. Slake His Thirst was a lot of fun. I liked that when Sage and Lucian sealed their bond as mates they knew/witnessed/experienced That was something I haven’t seen before (or in a long time). Loved the telepathy as well.

A short and fast story that is beyond hot. The story is a prequel and does explain some of what is happening in the world/realms. But it mostly focuses on Sage. She has some power and an affinity to earth magic. She has always had her loving moms, sister and friends. But her wild side has led her to lead a dangerous life. But now she just wants to relax and spend time with her sister and the glorious plants foils in this special place. Lucius is a Aletheia or vampire. The moment he sees Sage he ...more

Just a tease..

Slake His Thirst is just enough to tease you into wanting more. This series is a part of the Guardians world, but it doesn't have any of the same characters and can absolutely be read as a standalone. It does have that delectable steaminess that we've all come to expect from Setta Jay's books. Looking forward to the next book and I'm hoping it'll be full length, because I don't know if I can take another tesser.

This was a great introduction to In the Blood series. We have Sage and Lucius, fated mates, who go from 0 to 100 when Sage unexpectedly receives some new powers. I loved Guardian of the Realms series and look forward to reading more from this series.
I really enjoyed this; Such a perfect world built without over-wordiness, and a great connection between the characters

I loved this book, the only issue i had was that it was sooo short. I love all of Setta Jay's books so i cant wait for the next one in the series.

Perfect story starter. Stayed true to the Guardian books and true to herself. A joy to read and can’t wait for the new book!

I wanted more from this but I love the world Setta Jay has created and will definitely read more from this world. I know it was just meant to be a novella but I felt their story needed/deserved more.

Although this book takes place in the same world it is a new series so you can definitely start here without reading her prior books. Lucius spots Sage when she comes to the resort to see her sister. When she goes into the gardens suddenly the plants start protecting her and keeping her there. Lucius is able to get past the plants but to save her, he m
