Beth couldn't be happier. She is eight weeks pregnant and married to the man of her dreams. But after returning home from a celebratory meal, she finds a wreath from her sister's grave hanging above the bed and a kitchen knife embedded in her pillow. There are no signs of a forced entry. Beth is on top of the world. She has a loving husband, she's pregnant, she has a great job at the local library.

Coming home from work one day, she finds that someone has been in her house. They've left a wreath (from her sister's grave site) hanging above her bed and a knife buried to the hilt in her pillow. There are no signs of a break in ... and no one has a key except for their house cleaner who has been with them several years.

Things get even worse with a series of notes delivered to her ho

Another day, another dollar, and another Tilbury thriller that gives the reader way more than they ever bargained for! This is one author who has absolutely no problem pulling the wool over your eyes and fooling even the most seasoned crime connoisseurs multiple times within the short span of a single novel. It explores the insidious nature of jealousy, hatred and wanting what you simply can't have in life and is scarily realistic and within the realms of possibility. Remember: Evil comes in all ...more

When I’m in the mood for a fast paced, dark and twisted thriller I know I can always count on a Mark Tilbury book to deliver and this was no exception. I swear his books are all unputdownable, once I start I’m instantly sucked in and I have a hard time stopping for anything!

One of my favorite things about this one was that it was nonstop action, even in the more sedate parts of the story there was always a feel that something more was about to happen, there was a sense of menace and danger alway

Beth and her husband David are a happily married couple with a lot to look forward to. That changes when they come home and realise someone has been in their house. There on in, poor Beth questions everyone and everything.

Torment by Mark Tilbury gave me serious The Woman Next Door vibes, and although some of it was predictable for me, it was still a great read!

What it's about: Beth is pregnant and married to a man she loves, has a best friend named Kim, plus loves her job at the library; overall, she is living a very nice life. But when she and her husband come home one night to find a wreath over their bed and a knife in her pillow, things are about to drastically change. The only person

Every time that I read a Mark Tilbury book it is like discovering a new author time and time again. All his characters are fresh, the plot unique and the guaranteed thrill from a different angle. The only thing that they have in common is how addictive they are and so impossible to put down.
Beth and David seem to have it all, jobs they love and a beautiful home but they have seen hard times. Beth never really got over the death of her sister when they were children and the couple has just found

Happily married couple David and Beth return home one evening to find a wreath from Beth's sister’s grave hanging above their bed and a kitchen knife embedded in her pillow. The police are unable to do much with so little evidence, and the couple are determine not to let someone run them out of their home. However, unbeknown to them that this is only to beginning.

To make the situation even more stressful, after several miscarriages, David and Beth are finally expecting their first child together
As with all this authors books you always get more than what you were expecting. Yes oh yes he has done it again. Hooked from the first page, phone switched off and takeaway ordered. I am now in reading heaven. A stalker but SO much more. What is it they say REVENGE Is A Dish best served cold. The protagonist in this read has certainly waited. A devious, deluded and darn right evil mind. I spent most of this read sat on the edge of my seat and tapping my kindle faster and faster. This book is li ...more

Emotionally intense. Mark Tilbury weaves a story of psychological warfare with seeds of doubt that create a scenario that could so easily be true crime.

David and Beth seem to have it all. A beautiful home, loving relationship and enough money to live comfortably. Their only disappointment is Beth's miscarriages. Mixed with her pain and guilt of the children she's lost is the guilt she's carried about her sister's death. A tragic accident that destroyed her family.

A complete break away from what Mark normally writes, but as a naturally talented writer this is no issue.

Yet another gripping and fast paced offering from Mark Tilbury as we meet Beth who is in the early stages of pregnancy with a job she loves and a loving husband. She's also become the attention of a stalker after finding a wreath from her sisters grave hanging above her bed! As the incidents become more intense, cracks and distrust start to appear in her marriage as she tries to get to grips with why she's being targeted.
Whilst not as gruesome as previous offering from Mark Tilbury, this whoduni

When I pick up a book by Mark Tilbury I’m never certain what to expect, and that’s why I love this author’s books I always think ‘expect the unexpected’ and the author normally delivers. Torment is the author’s latest stand-alone psychological thriller, it’s not as dark or gritty as some of his previous books but it still made for a heart stopping read.

When someone wants you dead is there anywhere to hide? For Beth Cruikshank it appears not, unless she moved to a desert Island, but then where w

Beth leads a quiet life, married to financial advisor David, working at the library and enjoying the occasional coffee and cake with a friend. She has no reason not to trust people. Mark Tilbury delivers the most evil of characters, and Torment is no exception, apart from the fact in this story the malefactor is hidden to us for the largest part of the book and not revealed to the victim until near the end.

Wow, another great read from this brilliant author, I couldn't read this book fast enough. How could someone try to ruin the lives of such a lovely couple? when all they wanted was a happy family life with a child of their own to love. Beth and David are a happily married couple who long for a child, when they suddenly become the victims of a campaign of terror. Who could possibly hate them so much? Neither of them have any obvious enemies but somebody has it in for them and bad things are happening. Now their loving relationship is under serious threat. I devoured this book in almost one sitting as I needed the answer! This is yet another winning read from Mark Tilbury. It will keep you reading past your bedtime.

This is another fantastic read by this author. I was literally gripped from start to finish.

Beth is pregnant and happily married. When she returns home after a meal her life is about to change and not in a good way.

A campaign of terror begins on Beth as she doesn’t know who to trust or believe.

Who is out to get her and why?

A brilliant read with some great twists and turns. Although I predicted some there was other twists that had me mentally high fiving the author.

In 'Torment', Beth is expecting a child with her husband David but she didn't expect to become the target of a deranged stalker. Someone has the key to their house and isn't afraid to use it to send a clear message: he / she wants her dead. The question is, why?

This aptly titled book was a torment to get through due to the atrocious writing and plot execution. There were only a few characters yet they managed to be undeveloped, uninteresting and unlikeable. Beth was incredibly moronic, David was

Not a who done it, more a how and why , and how one event can impact on so many lives.
A disturbing read that had me thinking about the lengths that someone will go to for revenge, and also about home security, and how lax we are.

i spent the whole book saying no, no, no! and shaking me head, due to exasperation. I really enjoyed it.

Bit of a slow start, unusual for a Tilbury book, but once it gets going, it's a steamrolling, cracking good read, with the usual author's flare for twists and turns, culminating with a climactic finish.

I have been a fan of Mark’s work for a couple of months. In fact I became a fan of his when I had the good fortune to be invited to take part in the blog tour for his last book. I read the synopsis for ‘Torment’ and it certainly sounded like just my kind of read- a psychological thriller with a twist. I eagerly started to read and oh boy I was not to be disappointed. ‘Torment’ is one hell of a read that I thoroughly enjoyed, but more about that in a bit.

If there is one thing that you can rely on from author Mark Tilbury, it is that he is going to bring you a story which is full of mystery and tension, not afraid to go to the darker side, and that will be, overall, entertaining. That is exactly what you get when you start turning the pages of Torment, his latest thriller. This the story of Beth, a woman who seems to find herself the victim of a vicious and predatory stalker, who not only sends threatening messages, and carries out vile acts that ...more

Well, this one was a slow burner....until it exploded!

Beth has a good life. Married to David, a part time job she loves, a nice home, and in the early stages of pregnancy. But it hasn't always been great. When she was a teenager, and supposed to be keeping an eye on her little sister, she stopped to talk to a boy, and Heidi stepped into the road, and died after being hit by a car. More recently, Beth has lost three previous babies early in the pregnancies, but is feeling more settled and optimis
