I have finished pride and prejudice, and it was okay. tedious and boring, and mildly interesting. The two deserving couples coming together was good, but the rest was not overly enjoyable. Did people really say My mother instead of our mother? And why can the author not tell us which miss Bennet she is referring to when it is not from a character's view? It gets 2 stars
I enjoyed Northanger Abby. It is a very humorous book, not laugh out loud funny or anything, not even light chuckling worthy really. It is just mildly humorous throughout. Really that is what carries the book along. The main character is rather dim-witted, and you can't empathise with her. You keep calling her an idiot and laughing at her, and that is what makes you enjoy the book. But she is a good character, you hope that she does indeed get to marry Mr. Tilney. When you are laughing at her, and rolling your eyes because she does not understand the simplest matters, you are not frustrated with her. You are doing it affectionately. The author uses metafiction pretty well in this as well, still if you hate breaking the forth wall, you probably won't enjoy the book. It gets 3 stars
