This was the first narrative poetry book I've ever read, and to say it was raw and vivid is an understatement. I had a strong visceral reaction to certain scenes - literally clenching my fists and had to breathe deep to calm down. Even though this book gets incredibly dark sometimes (TW for sexual assault), Kitten does recover and it was really emotionally satisfying to follow their pers

This is an incredibly raw story of rape and survival told in verse. It packs an emotional punch and could be very triggering so, even though it's a quick read, please make sure you're emotionally ready before picking it up.

I've never read a book in verse before (though I have two more on my immediate tbr, Black Flamingo and Run, Rebel) so it was a completely new experience for me and I wasn't prepared for how this story is
