Shelves: urban-fantasy
"Deadliest Bidder" by Alan Brenik is the second book in his Nick Teller urban fantasy series. I loved the first book, "Rogue Arcanist", and eagerly anticipated this one. I hadn't expected it to include Herne (seen on the cover).

This is an intriguing British fantasy. Trial quests seem popular in fantasy novels at the moment, and "Deadliest Bidder" has its own take on that, grounded by the well-developed character of the hero. There's a twist at the end that slapped me (did not see it coming,

Best book I've read this year. The first book established an interesting world, and this one builds on that base wonderfully. I'm totally invested in these characters. More, please.

Great story!

Quite exciting read about a Strong hero-type with high morals. Fast paced plot, lots of action and satisfying ending. Hope the series continues.
