Distance sure as hell made his heart grow fonder… But it shattered hers into a million pieces.
Langley Vaughn knows she's never going to make the same mistake again.
Who falls head over heels in love in a week? Langley did, and she's regretted it every day since she handed her heart to a boy with too many secrets and too much baggage. Iker doesn't fit into Langley's world, and he made it clear he doesn't want to. He left before she even got a chance to try and change his mind or to prove to him how good they could be together. Langley's spent the last nine months healing her heart and making big plans for the future. Plans that absolutely don't include Iker… even though he's back, looking better than ever, and saying all the right things.
Iker Alvarez knows he made the biggest mistake of his life.
At first, the pretty blonde in the red dress was nothing more than a means to an end. But, she quickly became so much more. As soon as Iker walked away from Langley, claiming it was for her own good, he knew he screwed up. He left her so she wouldn't worry about him when he deployed, so she wouldn't waste her time waiting around for a guy who was never going to be good enough for her. Only, nine months and a deployment later, Iker still can't get Langley out of his head… and he totally underestimated the hold she has on his hardened heart. He's a guy who's not sure how love should work, or how to go about winning his girl back…he's about to get a crash course in both.

Hallelujah!! I think I just found a rarity in the midst of so many books in which immature, egocentric, misogynist and promiscuous characters are written! NOP! It's not the case in this book! Thank good God! He left in a wrong way but thinking he is doing good. Yes, nothing new. But the fact that he understood that it was his mistake and did not try to drown between the legs of several other women ?! Yes this is 1 book among HUNDREDS lately. Moreover, they learned from mistakes on both sides and the serious decisions were through dialogue and the confidence gained. What could have left a bitter taste in my mouth (which I don't like when I finish a book) was a light and great read. I wish the other authors read this book to learn how to write worthwhile characters! Internally recommend!
The last part didn’t thrill me as the first one. It might have been very well written and more emotional, but the plot didn’t manage to grip me. However, the characters were amazing, as well as their behaviour.
3 stars because even though I enjoyed it, I feel that this second part was unnecessary, it has too many chapters because of how predictable it can be. They should have added this summarized in the first book to make it the end, even so, I love the couple Iker and Langley and I'm glad they were happy.
Conclusion to the duet. I didn't enjoy this as much as the first but it was a satisfying end. During separation Hero is celibate. I was a bit confused with the heroine, it seemed to imply at first that she was in a friends with benefits relationship but then when she talks to the Hero she says they only share a kiss so ? No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Epilogue.
For me the story was a bit boring. The issues with the step mother and step sister were seemingly resolved by the father but we didn't actually get to see it. As their meanness played such a big part in the first book I needed to see them get put in their place more.

So I admit it took me forever to finally read Boy In Luv but I have very good reasons. First freaking hell ladies how long did you make us wait? I inhaled Girl In Luv as soon as I put down (and recovered from) The Last Letter and I loved it so much I promptly pre ordered Justified and went on the list to get my free copy of Boy In Luv. Then I waited and waited and waited, and when it finally landed I couldn’t really remember much of the story and knew I would have to do a re-read but life got in the way and it slowly dropped down the pages on my kindle until I kinda forgot about it.
Then I was doing the release blitz for the duet and decided I would do a re-read and finally get the conclusion to the story. And as always I have to ask why the hell did I wait? Well you know other than the earlier excuses.
So we ended Girl In Luv heartbroken that Iker has walked away and left Langley devastated. And I wasn’t sure how the ladies were going to pick it up from there. They both came from such totally different worlds and were headed in vastly different directions but damn the chemistry between them was so hot. And they just complimented each other so perfectly I needed them to get a happy ever after.
I also kind of needed Camilla to get a really nasty STI from her husband and the wicked stepmother to get hit by a bad batch of botox but I don’t always get what I want. So vengance aside I really wanted to see how these two were going to find their way back to each other and mesh their lives to give me my much needed happily ever after. And to be honest with these authors I wasn’t 100% sure I wouldn't end up without a happy ever after cause lets be honest these ladies can be mean.
I loved the addition of Iker’s brother, he was awesome and I would love him to get his own book please?!?! But mostly I just loved Iker for going after what he wanted and being man enough to admit his mistakes and work his butt off to fix them. I loved that he was prepared to put his pride on the line to make sure Langley got what she needed. These guys were such a beautiful couple and I loved everything about them and their story. Fingers crossed for future collaborations between Rebecca and Jay.
It goes without saying that we can only dream of a story like Langley's and Iker's... this second volume completes their story perfectly and leaves my heart filled with love for their chaotic but intense path!
This book picks up about nine (not pregnant) months later...and that's how long Iker and Langley have been apart.
Langley has (tried) to move on with her life and the good news is that she is graduating college and even better news is that she just got her dream job.
Iker and his brother, Gael, showing up at her graduation wasn't something Langley was expecting and it threw her for a loop...Iker as well. Things get even more unexpected when Iker decides to fight for Langley - no holds barred.
I got quite the kick out of these two, not because of all the dramatics but because it was so obvious how much they cared and wanted each other. I certainly was surprised by all the intense sex scenes...phewww!
The ending is pretty predictable but that didn't make it any less good. I loved the special surprise and overall it was sooo sweet but boy, did Iker ever ramp up that epilogue. It was amazing.
Boy in Luv is book 2 in the In Luv Duet and picks up 9 months after Iker left. Langley is trying really hard to move on, she took a huge risk and fell in love in one week and in the end was left heartbroken. When they finally see each other again she's determined to keep him at a distance and he's determined to keep her. I loved Iker's attempt at romance and how Langley was unable to resist. Now unfortunately while this book had some sweet moments overall it was very boring and the spark I felt between Iker and Langley in book 1 wasn't there.
I really enjoyed this book duet by Rebecca Yarros and Jay Crownover.
It was a quick and easy read. This is the lightest thing Rebecca Yarros has ever written and I loved it! Jay Crownover was a new to me author.
If you’re on the mood for light read and like the fake dating trope, give these books a try. Both MCs are really great. The story is so much more than the book blurb. Iker and Langley have so much depth as characters. I loved some of the secondary characters, like Gael and Langley’s dad, the rest you’re not really supposed to like and I really did not like them. I wish we’d met Iker’s grandmother.
You do have to read them in order, don’t read this book first.
Both books deliver what they'd advertised: a cute couple with a such a great thermal energy in their chemistry that could fuel 400 pages of banter and family drama. Plus it has the best dad in recent memory.
"And do you need an ear or advice?" her dad asked.
Maravilloso.
In the conclusion of Iker and Langley's story, you find out how to fight for love and why it is so important to have open communication within a relationship. I liked that their reconnection was not an easy one nor was the HEA a simple fix. Both Langley and Iker had to admit to disappointments and work them out together.

I feel like this was split up into two books just so they could call one of the books Girl in Luv and the other Boy in Luv because it was cute.
For me, it was cute, bringing into play the fake date trope, just not enough cute to warrant two books.
I enjoyed the first book a little more since it had more story and less sex. Essentially, I believe this would have been better as one book and at least two fewer sex scenes.
Langley has accepted that Iker left her. Didn’t have the faith that she was willing to wait for him, to worry about him, to love him, She’s moved on … or did she? She’s graduating and taking her dream job. She’s also made sure that Iker would never have to struggle or fake-date another girl just so his brother could get through school.
Iker knows that he made the biggest mistake of his life. He couldn’t stop thinking about what he did, the girl he left behind or the pain in his chest. He’s home now and knows that he has to see her, has to explain, has to try to get her back. How? He’ll figure it out one way or another … he just has to get her to give him a second chance. Thanks to Gael, he gets his chance and swears he won’t blow it.
From lilies to pineapples … he’ll stop at nothing to get her back, show her what she means to him. He needs to show her that he’s willing to meet her in the middle, to support her no matter what and to always be there. Well, that’s after he mistakenly tries to fit into her world again and is met with the fakest smile he has ever seen on her.
So, Girl in Luv / Boy In Luv. WOW. That’s the best word that I could find. I was blown away by these two books. Yes, I read both of them in one night. I couldn’t stop … I didn’t want to stop. I am a huge fan of Rebecca Yarros and know that I will never be disappointed with one of her stories. But, I never read Jay Crownover before so wasn’t sure what to expect. Well, that changes now. The writing between the two of them was flawless and I had no idea where one author started and the other picked up. All the characters were so well-defined and boy you couldn’t help but hate Camille, Virginia and Richard as much as you felt sorry for Corbin and love Langley and Iker. The story line was special. What started out as an opposite attracts story ended as a second-chance romance. The transition between the two stories was flawless. And, the letters … OMG, the letters. I went back and read them over and over. They were so beautiful and from the heart. You knew with the first one that they had something special. Then, with the second one, you knew that they found the point of no return and that they would find a way.
I laughed then cried, smiled and cried some more. I was touched by Girl in Luv and Boy In Luv. I was sorry to see it end. I was happy that I got the chance to read these wonderful stories.
This was a great conclusion to this series. I loved Iker and Langley in book one and I couldn't wait for this one to see what happened and how it all ended. We are given a great conclusion with a few things missing. Now don't get me wrong I loved this book. Iker was wrong with what he did in book one but I got it and he more than makes up for it in this book. He does everything he possible can do to fix what he broke and make up for what he did. I completely believe he loves Langley with all his heart and he's just a great hero. I also loved Langley she's sweet and smart and we get to see her stand up for herself and care about herself over those who don't care about her. Iker and Langley's relationship is wonderful.
Now what I wished had happened(and this is me being picky and vengeful) I wanted to see the stepmom either really change or get what was coming to her. She was just a mean person. And I also really wish we had gotten to meet Iker's grandmother is this book, she's such big part of his life I would have loved having her in more of this book. And back to vengeful I really wanted to see his grandma put Langley's stepmom in her place, that would have been perfect. I would have loved that! I was really happy we met Iker's brother and like I said this was the perfect ending.
Langley and Iker try to put their relationship back together. Boy in Luv revolves around these two and how they work through each of their issues. Langley can't help but feel that she is complicating things with some of her choices for the future.
Boy in Luv really demonstrates what unconditional love is. It's one person being willing to potentially give up their dream for the other person. Langley and Iker both have a willingness to give things up in order to make their relationship work. When a relatively large barrier presents itself, they initially aren't sure how to handle it. However, in the end, they manage to work through it by making compromises.
In addition, Boy in Luv really shows how Iker's love for Langley is so important to him. He learns to prioritize his personal life more in this book. He also realizes that he can open himself up to others and ask for help once in a while. This was a huge accomplishment for Iker. He didn't like to ask people for help ....ever.
After the events of the first book, all is not good in the Iker/Langley relationship. While Iker had no control over leaving, it was the way he did it that didn't sit right with Langley. But now he's back and her world is just completely turned around. And Iker has a lot to do if he wants Langley to trust him again.
I enjoyed that we got to know more about Iker in this one. The first book focused so much on Langley and her family, that Iker was just kind of present but mysterious. Here we get to meet his brother, who is adorable, and learn more about his past and why he is the way he is. It definitely was nice to see them reconnecting but with a much stronger bond.
But of course, there needed to be a hurtle, and that came in the form of Langley accepting a job out of state. I'm glad she went. I was going to be really mad if she gave up her dream for Iker when he just reappeared. It was nice to see Iker have to step up and figure out how to keep her in his life. Not too mention there was a puppy who just made everything better.
Because the book was so short, everything was settled in pretty much no time and pretty easily too. But I did like that Iker grew in this one and even reached out to Langley's father - that was a HUGE step for his character. This duology was just the perfect way to round out this month. Again, so happy I finally bought them.
Thankful for the HEA and an awesome epilogue! The first book left me wanting more and this secondary filled my expectations perfectly! Perfect amount of give and take! Great read! Or listen!
This was definitely not my favorite book. I just felt like it was the two characters going in circles. There were a lot of spice scenes to the point where it felt unnecessary and I was getting so annoyed that the characters couldn’t just figure it out.
