I cannot help myself. I keep dancing, my heart is singing, Im head over heels for these sweetest characters, hooking story-telling, love at first side charm of Beauty. This book makes you feel like you just recently chased your lucky stars and makes your heart pound faster.

Winona and Josie have no idea when they take their first steps to their hometown theyd left five years ago, they just entered to the highway to hell. Even I could hear AC/DCs blaring lyrics as a threat.

Buzzword: Jenn Bennett.

Im never let down when I read a Jenn Bennett contemporary so my expectations were pretty high when I started Chasing Lucky! And luckily, it was just as awesome as all her other contemporaries!

I really liked Josie and being in her head. She had an interesting back story with her secretive mom. Also, as a side note, Id like a book on Josies mom! Anyway, Josie was a photographer and I connected to her right away!

Lucky was the most adorable little thing ever. He has baggage and I wanted to give him

A cute YA contemporary about falling in love, learning from our mistakes, and the importance of communicating with loved ones.

17 year old Josie Saint Martin is returning to her hometown of Beauty, after leaving town dramatically five years ago with her mother. Since then they have constantly been on the move, but now they are back to run her grandmother's bookstore whilst she is travelling. Josie has plans to go and live with her father on the west coast, to start her career as a

Jenn Bennett is one of my favorite young adult authors and Chasing Lucky might be my favorite book yet by her. This book takes place in Beauty, Rhode Island which is basically Newport. Jenn's description of the setting was on point and made me feel like I was just starting a summer in Newport. Josie has just returned to the hometown she left with her mother when she was 12. She has spent the last 5 years jumping from town to town never staying in one place long. When she walks into the bookshop ...more

Jenn Bennett is definitely one of my favourite contemporary authors, but I was a bit disappointed with this new novel of hers. I truly felt like something was missing in this book and in my opinion there were just a lot of miscommunication and unnecessary drama which is something I don't particularly enjoy.
On a more positive note, I really liked Lucky as a character. I think he was

My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another great story from one of my favourite YA authors!

Josie Saint-Martin and Lucky Karras were inseparable as children, but Josie's mother and overbearing grandmother have a huge argument, and the next five years are spent traveling from one town to the other as her mother finds work as a book store manager. Josie is miserable, always on the move, and she misses Lucky. How will he ever

WELL..... that was....... my first read by Jenn Bennett!

So here I am, a few days later and I'm still assessing the story. It was a great story in so many aspects. When I read the synopsis I was immediately obsessed and wanted to read it immediately.
Let just say I wasn't expecting to fall hard for these characters I wasnt expecting this story to affect me.
But it did! I had been in a book slump for almost month! Nothing I picked up worked for me but Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett.

At this point, I think I could read Jenn Bennett's grocery list and give it 5 stars.  I can't stress how much I love her books.

What was there to like in Chasing Lucky?  Everything.  The setting, the people, the photography, the drama, and the curse.  I loved it all.

Josie and her mom left Beauty five years earlier after a fight with her grandma.  Josie had no warning and they just left.  Her best friend, Lucky, had recently been in a fire and she couldn't even see him.  They were gone.  She tried

Another Jenn Benn YA swoon romance to love! Plus theres so much to love about the mother-daughter relationships, a cute Stars Hollow-like town and social status conflicts.

Im always left wanting more in the best way possible!

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Having read all of the author's previous YA contemporary books and loving two of them - the other two not so much - my expectations for this one were high and I'm so glad to say that I was not disappointed. This was exactly the kind of book I was expecting from the author.

This one is about Josie, who is returning to her hometown with her mother, after jumping from city to city for years. Only that

Jenn Bennett never disappoints with her books and Chasing Lucky is definitely one of my favorite of hers. I loved the slow burning childhood friends romance (my! fav!), the complex family ties and the small town setting was wonderful, too. Definitely recommending this one <3

The only thing I needed to know was the author's name.
The rest doesn't matter, really.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This in no way impacted on my view.

I just adore all of Jenn's books, so when my copy of Chasing Lucky arrived, just as the country was going to pot and lock down was looming, I knew it would be something to help get me through this difficult time. Chasing Lucky follows Josie as she returns to her hometown, Beauty, with her flighty mam, after fleeing five years ago in the dead of the night. Her whole family is cursed, and all the women

It kills me to DNF Jenn Bennett, because I've love love loved all of her other YA contemporary novels, but this one just is not for me. I've read almost 100 pages, and I'm not sucked in at all. (I actually maybe actively don't like it thus far.) The thing is that I loved the other Jenn Bennett novels for the fluffy parts and the banter; I loved them in spite of the more melodramatic bits. This one is entirely the melodramatic bits. I would absolutely recommend this to readers who enjoy melodrama ...more

Chasing Lucky started out strong for me. I really loved the whole curse thing that was going on and what it meant for Josie and her mom to move back to Beauty, Rhode Island. I do have to mention that I was thrown off pretty quickly, though. There was an unexpected time jump and I wasn't quite prepared for it. I don't know if that was the weird formatting of the ARC I received or that it felt weird

Josie Saint-Martin and her mother Winona have to move back to their small home town to look after the family bookstore. There Josie is reunited with Lucky, her childhood bestfriend. After five years of being separated both of them have changed, but it seems that Lucky's change was very drastic. He went fro sweet and lovely to becoming the town's bad boy and often the main subject of local rumor mill. Only,is any of it true? Or is there much more to Lucky than meets the eye.

3.5 Stars. I enjoyed this, but thought there was a little too much unnecessary drama. Full review to come.
Josie is back in the town her mother grew up in. They left because of the 'curse' chasing them. She has plans on how she wants the rest of her life to go. Once back at the family bookstore though, she reconnects with Lucky, who she knew from her childhood. Like all Jenn Bennett, there are complicated families and a wonderful slow-burn contemporary romance.

My second Jenn Bennet book, and it was pretty much what I expected it to be: a moderately cute romance, with easily flowing prose, but vaguely annoying characters. Essentially, a book Ill never reread.

Seventeen-year-old Josephine Josie Saint-Martin has spent the last four years hopping from city to city with her footloose, sex-addict mother Winona, never staying in one place long enough to put down roots. They left their homeplace of

Thank you to Netgally for giving me an ARC of the novel to give my honest opinions.

I thought this book was so good!!!! Once I got started it was hard to put down. I read this book in 1 day. I just loved the characters so much. They are all flawed, but they try to keep doing their best and pushing on. I loved Josie and Lucky as characters. How they went from best friends to not best friends and trying to get their friendship back.
