4 Solid Stars and would have been higher if not for Langley

I really loved this quick read. It was filled with all of my favs from the past series and I FLOVED Axel....I mean he was sheer perfection. Now Langley, hmmmmm, I am really on the fence with her. She annoyed me to no end but yet I did like her too. I guess my feelings for her ran up and down BUT the twist that came when she "hurt" him and YES for me, she just made the wrong decision.....that part really made me kinda mad if I am honest.

I desperately tried to read this book. I just couldn't get into it. These are my top 5 kinda books. Sexy sports guys who want the woman. I got 45% in and haven't had the desire to pick it up. During these days I have read 3 books who knocked my six off. I love this author. Maybe I'll go back another time.

I'm partial to hockey gods in my romance, as such, Axel really made it on my list of swooning fictional athletes. This was also my first Samantha Whiskey and my interest for her other books is definitely piqued.

"Axel" totally it the spot for me as light and sexy sports romance.
A really good hero a little gruff around the edges determined to prove a hard as nails heroine they're made for each other. Axel is patient but he's not against using leverage to help his case. Marriage of convenience

This was the first book I've read by this author, and I couldn't have been more pleased with this sexy romance! Axel is a fast-paced, easy reading experience. Ms. Samantha Whiskey's writing style is smooth and flowing, making this an engaging story. The plot is believable and the characters are great. There is wonderful chemistry and a smoldering passion between Axel and Langley, and I thoroughly enjoyed their journey. They were the perfect fit for each other. I loved the character of Axel, the ...more

The Carolina Reapers is a new spin off series based on the very successful and titillating Seattle Sharks series featuring a professional hockey team. It is written by hockey guru and writer extraordinaire Samantha Whiskey.

We first met the heroine and heroine, Axel and Langley in the Seattle Sharks series, and I couldnt wait to read their story. I happen to do public relations for a living so I always enjoy when the career is featured in a book and Samantha nailed it. Langley is talented,

I am in LOVE, not puppy love, not a little school girl crush, I mean hearts in my eyes, sweaty palms, butterflies in my stomach type of love. Axel might be just a character to some, but this Swedish Viking owned my heart from the very first page. Axel and Langleys story is one that will at times take you to the peak but then have you falling to the bottom. It is emotional, captivating and at times will have you edgy. This first book in the Carolina Reapers series will leave the next books with a ...more

This is book #3 with the title of Axel in my list, and this one may be the best!!

Axel is a hockey player in the Swedish hockey league, who has NO interest in going to America to play in the NHL. His younger brother, Tage, whom he has raised, is in Sweden. That all changes when he sees Langley Pierce step off an airplane with an offer.

Langley is the PR person for the Carolina Reapers, and they send her to Sweden to try to convince Axel to come to America and join their expansion team. Turns out

Langley has quite the affect on her man, ohmygawdthesearegood, she moaned after her first bite. And now my pants were too tight..." Axel sometimes just talks to his passed out woman, is that better, baby? I asked. No response. Baby? I repeated. She snored. And that, I said, climbing off the bed to get one of my T-shirts, is why I didnt eff you tonight, I told my passed out wife." Axel isnt exactly a rule follower, pancakes were a ploy! You devious Viking! I clucked my tongue at him. We cook in ...more
When I started this book, I didn't realize it was a spin off of another series. Because of this, I unfortunately missed out on any relationship building that occurred between the MCs before the start of this book. I'm not sure if that would have helped me believe in this relationship more or not, but since I didn't particularly think Langley and Axel worked well together, it might have been better to start with the Seattle Shark series to see just what Axel saw in her.

The main reason I stuck

It was a sweet story of finding love and the right hockey team.
4.5 out of 5

This book was oh so close to perfect until near the end when Langley made a decision that I thought was wrong. She ended up knowing it was wrong too, but it hurt Axel so deeply and since there couldnt be a more perfect hero then Axel, I was too annoyed with her and marked the book down a wee bit.

I gather Axel, our hero, and Langley, our heroine, first met in a previous book, but that didnt matter at all to picking up the story. Axel is a world class hockey player in Sweden. Hes

3 stars - Sweet but unexciting.

I picked this one up for three reasons: 1. I had just finished reading Bound to the Battle God and had no idea what to do with myself (and I still don't know what to do with myself, in case you're wondering). 2. I saw people talking about Axel on Facebook and nothing draws me in quite like a bunch of people talking up some swoons. 3. The description was so, so promising! Unfortunately, this one didn't really score with me.

That's not to say Axel is a bad book. It's

This was fabulous for my first ever book by this author, I will be coming back for more.

Axel is basically a Swedish hockey player, a very sought after one.
Axel was left as sole carer for his brother following his parents death, he takes family and his hockey seriously but now his brother is older and moving towards his own career Axel can now start thinking about himself after years of putting his brother first.

Langley is head of PR for an American hockey team that want him.

They have met

This book was the perfect quick read I needed on a sleepless night! I found this book in my recommendations and I have to admit I was not disappointed! To propose a six month marriage just to sign an NHL contract seemed a little extreme, but I also did not mind it one bit. Axel knew how Langley works and this was the only way hed get her to date him. Even he knows its extreme which surprises him when Langley says yes.

Axel is a big Viking man whose looks intimidating, but he has a heart of

Hot Swedish hockey player

Sizzling and sweet. Not much hotter then a modern man that takes care of his family and knows its not money that is important.
Loved the main characters and the friends. Especially the barkeeper, cant wait for her story.

Axel made this book. He was so endearing and sexy. I didn't love Langley at first but she grew on me. Cute sports romance. 3 stars because it was rather predictable.

Great fake relationship sports romance

The fake fiance/marriage is one of my favorite troupes. This one adds sports romance and pushes it over the top. Axle is perfect book boyfriend material. Langley is likeable, I just wish she had been less insecure. Axle is a pro hockey player. He lived in Sweden, where he raised his little brother even as a kid himself. He is all the things. Langley is the publicist for an American team that wants Axel to sign with them. She and Axel have a lot of chemistry

This book was more than I expected, like it was really good, and I knew I was going to like it, but not this much.
Langley was an amazing woman who just wanted someone to love for who she was, and that's all anyone wants. It was Impossible for her not to fall for Axel, they were fantastic together, and they really deserved each other.
And Axel, that sweet and big hearted big man, who had a heart of pure gold. His love for her was so beautiful, he never gave up on her, and I really liked it how she

Good story, love how Axel knows what he wants with Langley, and goes and gets it. It sounds bad really, him forcing her into marrying him, but the swtiching viewpoints let the reader see how far Axel is willing to go to get Langley give him a chance with her. Just to reassure anyone contemplating this book, Axel does not make sex part of the deal, in fact he resists having sex with Langley even though she considers it as a bonus to their deal.
The swtiching viewpoints really help in understanding

This story starting out with a 6 month marriage proposal and turning into a sweet love story had me hooked. Axel and Langley were perfect for each other with how determined and good at their jobs they were and how they meshed as two different pieces of the Reepers hockey team in as a player and as the head PR rep for the team. Axel had me swooning more times than I could count and Langley grew so much as a person and learned how to give up control so she could have the life she hadnt even known ...more

This book was sweet and predictable. Just what I needed right now. Axel was perfect obviously. Almost too perfect! Where can I find me an Axel!?! Langley was a bit of a snot. She came across as selfish and hard headed to me. Yes, her career is important and she shouldnt have to give that up, but she shld have to give something! Thats what a marriage is, and she seemed to think it she gave an inch than something was being taken from poor female her. She didnt deserve him. ...more

Something missing

Theres so much more detail that could have been added to this book that would have increased the tension and built on the relationship between the H/h. Its actually a bit of a shame it wasnt there.

Axel & Langley

I would recommend reading the Seattle series first because I didn't and I felt there were tidbits and stories about characters in this book that I had no prior knowledge of. Axel was everything and I thought Langley should have met him in the middle more.
