A first-class thriller with perfect pacing...

Strong from the Heart: A Caitlin Strong Novel (Caitlin Strong Novels Book 11) by Jon Land is a superbly written and richly descriptive novel with brilliantly drawn characters and settings. It was a captivating read that had me immersed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling.

I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue. There were plenty of p

Many of us are aware of the opiod epidemic and Caitlin Strong will be facing it in Strong From The Heart by Jon Land. I wouldn’t want to be the culprits that she is seeking.

The Prologue reeled me in and my mind was whirling with the possibilities.

We start out with a wayward mailman who is on a mission, but it’s not to deliver his mail.

WTH…happened in Camino Pass? Caitlin Strong is on the case and will get to the bottom of it.

She has stepped into a snake pit and I am rooting for her, as she defus

Caitlin Strong, Texas Ranger, is certainly a force to be reckoned with. She pulls no punches. And her half sister is even more lethal. Add to the mixture Caitlin's friends Colonel Paz and Cort Wesley and you've got a crime fighting crew like no other. This time they are fighting an opiate pipeline whose leadership goes high up in Washington, DC.

I like Land's writing style. The dialogue is brutal and unique. Sometimes it feels stilted but it is very engaging. The characters form a rag tag bunch.

Wow, what a great novel! It is the first time I’ve read one of the Caitlin Strong novels, and I’m looking forward to reading more! I very much enjoyed learning more about a few of the top Texas Rangers in their extraordinary history. Seeing their reach within the state today and the respect they have garnered from the point of view of the fictional Caitlin Strong and the four generations of Strong rangers
before her has been fascinating.

Caitlin was finishing a situation at an elementary school

There's nothing quite like jumping into a series with ten books behind it! However, with a strong female protagonist and a story rooted in Texas, there was no way that I could pass up the chance to read this one.

Opening with an unforgettable ear-worm and closing with poignant self-discovery, this is an edgy and intense thriller packed with high stakes subplots that masterfully converge. Exploring the past explains the present and readers are thrust into the competent hands of Ranger Caitlin Stro

Strong from the Heart is book number 11 in the Caitlin Strong series, but the first of these that I've read, and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm hooked, but then, I'd be hooked on any story that starts (well, after a prologue featuring a traumatized mailman wandering in the desert) with a woman facing down ICE, Texas Ranger or not.

Still Caitlin Strong is a breathtaking character: competent, compassionate, and evidently the kind of person who seems to get caught up in trouble. As she points out m

Maybe not the best book in the series but I still love reading about this Texas Ranger and her escapades. I also like the fact that all stories are related to her ancestors. The legacy of the rangers is probably the best part of the books. Jon Land lets the problem with narcotics hit closer this time when one of her "family" members takes an overdose. I'm starting to like the introduction of her half sister as well and think that Jon Land can get a few great stories out of it. I must thank #Forg ...more

An opioid crisis leads Texas Ranger Caitlin Strong into a dangerous fray in Jon Land’s exceptional 11th novel, “Strong from the Heart.”

Child kidnapping.

Drug wars. Backstabbing world of politics.

Land weaves together these timely issues as he builds sustainable tension in each chapter, putting his multi-dimensional characters in immediate peril. Skillful plotting, sharp writing and brief chapters keep the story moving at a brisk pace. Shifting points of view and locales and delving into the often

Since the inception of the Texas Rangers, there has been a member of the Strong family serving as a Ranger. Caitlin Strong is a fifth-generation Texas Ranger and just as fierce and awe-inspiring as her forebears. One of the many things I enjoy about reading the Caitlin Strong series is how Caitlin's present-day adventures often mirror those of her father, grandfather, great-grandfather, or great-great-grandfather. In Strong From the Heart, Caitlin is battling enemies on several fronts, includin ...more

“Central, we’ve got a potential level one event.”

Good thing such things are nothing new for Texas Ranger Caitlin Strong. And with that line from the prologue, her latest adventure Strong from the Heart is off and running at a breakneck clip that doesn’t let up until the final page is turned. This is the best thriller of the year, in large part for how it confronts Caitlin and company with challenges that are exceedingly rare for a genre novel.

“I know this may come as a shock to you, Ranger, but the world is bigger than Texas.”

Strong from the Heart by Jon Land is Book 11 in the Caitlin Strong series, but it can still be enjoyed as a standalone novel. Thrills and suspense are definitely on the menu in this action-packed, electrifying fiction about opioid addiction and the ruthless, greedy people responsible for getting those drugs into the hands of kids. The bulk of the novel takes place in Houston and San Antonio, Texas, but an event

You better get ready, because Caitlin Strong is back!

Strong from the Heart is Jon Land's latest addition to his Caitlin Strong series, and this time it's personal.

The opioid crisis hits home when the son of Caitlin's lover Cort Wesley Masters nearly dies of an overdose. She is also investigating how the residents of a small Texas town all died in one night.

When this fifth generation Texas Ranger realizes both instances are related, she finds herself following a trail to uncover the truth behind

I think I may have a problem.

Reading about gun battles, explosions, and illegal drug operations with a grin on my face can’t be normal, but that’s how I read most of Strong From the Heart.

Another stellar installment in the Caitlin Strong Series, this four-hundred-page read ended far too quickly for me.

Caitlin’s Captain calls her human flypaper because wherever she goes the worst of the worst sticks to her and he nails it in that one comment because only in her world can there be a connection bet

Strong From the Heart is the 11th novel featuring female Texas Ranger Caitlin Strong. She comes from a long line of Texas Rangers, dating back to her great-grandfather’s day. Caitlin is every bit as tough and handy with a gun as any of her forebears, and while she may not have to fight old time Comanches, when she meets up with a modern day one who has no pain receptors, she’s just about met her match. Thank goodness Colonel Guillermo Paz, formerly of the Venezuelan secret police, considers her ...more

Strong from the Heart was an action-packed thrill ride! It was full of gun fights, explosions, and fights to the death. It held everything from derailed trains and drug busts to a mysterious catastrophe leaving an entire town dead! This story was an excellent high-intensity, edge of your seat adventure. My favorite part though is this crazy train of events was led by a gun slinging, fear-inducing female protagonist who held the main role in this piece, Caitlin Strong. With each successive Caitlin Strong book, the history and mystique surrounding the Texas Rangers grows. Book eleven of the popular series is as thrilling as ever.
The main story involves the town of Camino Pass in Texas, with around 300 citizens. It is suddenly a ghost town because of the death of all but one resident. Everyone is found dead, with no sign of violence. Caitlin and company investigate, finding few answers.
Then further investigations seem to point to cyanide poisoning. With the as

I've heard many facts and conspiracy theories about the drug trade, especially with how pharmaceutical companies had been mixing heroin with Fentanyl, and for those that don't know, Fentanyl is a form of morphine but 100 times more potent. Carfentanil is another drug that is used to tranq elephants and it's being laced with street drugs.
