Iteration X represents the cutting edge of artifice, material science and man-machine technology. The Clockwork Conventioneers may be considered killer cyborgs or emotionless drones by their peers, but in truth they're pioneers as well as warriors. The Iterators' tools and computers empower humans, overcome defects and enable people to do things that would be impossible without the aid of machines. But with directives from machine intelligences and humans who give up flesh for metal, who's the master and who's the servant?

A new direction for the Conventions for Mage: The Ascension. Completely new material covering history, practices, beliefs, special characters, rules and more. Finally, books that build upon the Guide to the Technocracy and bring forth the secrets for your Technocracy characters.
This is leaps and bounds better than the original version. It handles Iteration X as people, rather than some sort of abstract representation of control. In fact, with the Revised metaplot changes, Iteration X's worst aspects have been expunged, and now they're capable of becoming the same shades of grey that the other factions of Mage are able to be.
The first half of the book is the history of the world from Iteration X's point of view, along with other bits like how they view the Traditions and Conventions. It's told by a Virtual Adept who defected to Iteration X, which is certainly an interesting perspective, and directly calls the narrative of the first Iteration X book propaganda.
The remainder covers methodologies, beliefs, and then templates and Iteration X chronicles, along with a vast array of Devices (though no Procedures, which is a shame).
Somewhat more informative than the original edition, in that it incorporates backstory from Sorcerers Crusade. Sadly, White Wolf only updated this Convention volume.
