Samara Holloway is back in Blackwood, after years away chasing showgirl dreams in Vegas. She’s on a new path now - different city, different career… but there’s nothing different about Addison Clarke.
Or so she’d love to think.
Enough time has passed that Addison is certain he’s ready to be exactly the man Samara needs.
If only she shared his certainty.

4 STARS!
He was not a man accustomed to being told 'no'.
I, however, was a woman very comfortable saying it.
My first Christina C. Jones! And definitely not my last. Collision Course was a quality short and - just like the cover - HOT read.

Plot in a nutshell: Samara is a professional dancer who returns to her hometown after a career-altering injury. There, she finds a new start and an old flame ==> enter Addison.

Wow, the writing was gloriously smooth here! I don't think I had to re-read a single sentence. That's pure talent.

I did think the emotional connection between the Samara and Addison was a bit lacking because they didn't actually discuss anything that had any depth; it was mostly just flirting.

But the physical? Off the charts!
"I don't like Addison," I whined. "I'm just . . . very fond of his dick."
I also really liked how Samara was portrayed. She oozed strength and confidence, and she was comfortable with her sexuality.
"I've dealt with enough of exactly your type to be pretty familiar."
[...]
"How would you feel if I tried to stereotype you?"
"Stereotype me how? As a beautiful, talented, successful woman who managed to make something from a life that was supposed to kick my ass instead?"
Addison was a bit of an alpha bulldozer, lol, but his personality made for some incredible chemistry. And Samara wouldn't have put up with him if she hadn't wanted to. 😂

Good stuff! I'll definitely read more by this author. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention, Chanel! 🥰

As always, CCJ delivers another great series. Collision Course was a cute and quick read. If determination was a man, it would definitely be Addison Clarke. When I tell y'all Samara did not make it easy for him at all. She was more than willing to share her body and only her body. Albeit, a little reluctantly. But, Addison was not havin' it. He made sure he was all up in Samara face every chance he got and just wore her down. She had no choice but to finally give in and let Addison have his way. As always, CCJ blessed us by letting us revisit with characters from her past books (Kora, Nubia, Nashira, Camille, Braxton, and Lincoln). Y'all know I love to catch up with my old faves. Collision Course was a great start to the Clarke Brothers series. I can't wait to dive into Andre and Aiden's stories.

This book had ALL the audacity!

My. Goodness. Gracious. I'm going to ramble a little.

I would give the sex scenes alone 10 stars because they are 15 alarm fire smoking hot. 🔥🔥🔥

Addison. ADDISON! Those heart stopping, panty dropping lines he delivered...

Okay synopsis time. Eight years ago, in their early twenties, Addison and Samara had a sort of goodbye fling. Addison was a regular attendant to Samara's place of business (she's an exotic dancer). She was offered a chance to strut her stuff in Vegas and before leaving she decided to take Addison for a real goodbye ride. Addison was always able to look but not touch and a young man in his early 20s eagerly took what was offered. He never expected her to leave let alone come back 8 years later. Now that Sam lives in his building, he's made it his business to get back in her life again and this time for good because he's made something of himself and Samara is the woman that he wants even if she doesn't see it yet.

This is the shortest, sexiest romance I've read this year hands down.

I mean this book had me at the sauna..

...then the restaurant bathroom...

...then my heart essentially stopped at the community dryer... and on and on it went.

Spoiler alert: it was glorious.

"Look at how severely our trajectories shifted away from each other with you moving, only for us to end up right back on the same collision course."

Dear reader, I end this by saying there's language that may or may not take you aback a little but this is how black people speak so just go with it because this is too sexy not to read and enjoy thoroughly.

The story was a work of art and masterful writing by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about this couple. Samara was a former dancer at Arch and Pointe, but she always wanted to dance on the big stages. Addison was made from money and had a rep. So when he and Samara came together, things would never be the same. You will love their journey back to bliss....

Wow! I had forgotten how sexy this story was... The second time was hubba hubba...

Addison wanted Samara and he was gonna get her simple as that. I felt like Samara made things hard for no reason and it seemed repetitive.

I listened to this as part of 81st & Clarke which combines all 3 novellas.

I’m mixed on this. I liked the second chance-vibes set up, the characters, and quick-and-dirty sex. However, I’m not a fan of when an MC moves from persistent to stalker and Addison crossed that line to me. Conversely, he was "encouraged" in crossing the line because Samara was saying "not interested" while jumping him. Her “I don’t want you but I will continue to fuck you even knowing you want more” didn’t sit well either. The banter was fun at times, but repetitive.

I know it’s a novella, but the ending was abrupt and barely qualified as an HFN. I’m interested to see, if as a trilogy, it feels more complete.

Narration:
Again, I'm mixed. I enjoyed listening overall, but there were some things that detracted. Like characters being given accents that didn't match the text, or one narrator giving a character an accent and the other not.

I would have loved for Collision Course to be a full-length novel because the characters were so much fun and there was a lot of room for a super swoony romance that spans several years.

It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the steamy chemistry between Addison and Samara. I look forward to picking up the rest of the series.

Addison and Samara have been in an off on relationship for years and when she finally return home, they are back at it again. Addison wants more, but Samara is ok with just the way it is.
This story had me getting made at Samara because she didnt know what she wanted, but once she revealed why she was hesitate about being with Addison, I understood why. I was so happy at the end when they both got what they wanted. I'm such a fan of Mrs. Jones and she really has blown me away with everything I read by her!!!

Very cute and quick read with enough info on both characters to make me feel fulfilled with this novella. Also, good kick off to another sibling series!

I enjoyed these two and Addison was definitely swoon worthy with his attempt to show Sam that he was serious about this thing between them. I look forward to future books on his brothers.

Addison is bae! This novella was perfect. Hilarious, sexy and sweet. I loved revisiting some of our fave characters and how Addison knew what he wanted and was willing for Sam to get there. Loved it!

Short and Cute

This is the first book that I have read by Christina C. Jones, and I liked it.

I have been hearing so much about this series, seeing it come across my timelines so many different times, and I just knew that I had to read it soon.

My interest had been peaked and I liked that it was very short, sweet, and to the point.

Samara is a woman that has a very interesting career (one that I really found intriguing) and had an accident that deferred her dreams and sent her back to Blackwood where she keeps encountering an old flame. Though I liked Samara, it really irked my nerves that she was so mean to Addison. He hadn’t done anything wrong and she was just rude, all because she didn’t want to admit her true feelings.

I loved Addison, he was a sweet guy who just wanted a chance with a woman that he really liked, but his childish approach to the situation didn’t help his case. I was on his team all of the way but baby boy just had to play games all because Sam did too.

I give this story 3 stars because while I really liked the story, I feel that Samara made things unnecessarily hard with her attitude which made things seem a little repetitive seeing as most of the book was in her POV. And then I was a little disappointed in the end because it just left me wondering what they really were, and it fell a little flat for me.

Addison made this book good, had it not been for him and his sweet efforts, I probably wouldn’t have liked this very much.

I will continue on with the next book because I am curious to see what Aiden and Andre’s stories are.

Growth

Sahara and Addison had a chemistry that was too hot to touch. Their on again off again was complicated in all specs of their relationship. CCJ took us on a short journey into the connection of their relationship and had u wanting more. Addison knew what he wanted and set out to get it. They are definitely were hot together.

Give in already

It was definitely hot and enjoyable. I really wanted Samara to give in earlier and get the chance to read about her falling in love, but other than that... great quick story with relatable characters who we get to follow through a series and revisit in the Blackwood world. Clear descriptive writing that drew me in and made me annoyed with Sam and her stubbornness.

This is why I love CCJ! I read this book in line at the airport. I know the customers in line thought I was crazy. I was reading, fanning, laughing out loud and holding up the line because I was so engrossed in the book. Addison and Samara made for some heat in the pre-summer read. Again, men know when she is the one.

One of my favorite tropes is quickly becoming the MMC that knows what he wants and knows just how to approach a situation to get an outcome in his favor... idk if that's exactly how you'd word that but it's exactly what I'm starting to like lol. Samara would love nothing more than to leave Addison and the lingering memories of their past in the past. That's kind of hard to do when Addison has made up his mind that Samara is the person he wants to be with. He just has to convince her that he isn't the irresponsible, arrogant, womanizer that he was when they first met...well, maybe not irresponsible or a womanizer but definitely still arrogant.

Straight out of the gate Addison isn't letting up on Samara. Whether she's at the gym, doing laundry, or on a date he is always somewhere close...testing her resolve. This was a really quick read that gave you just enough info to want to finish this in one sitting but not so much that you feel like you missed part of the story; however, this definitely could have been flushed out into a full novel. I would have loved to read more about the MCs backstory.

The story is still really good as it is written. I have found myself really enjoying CCJ's books and will definitely be moving along to the next book in this series.

CCJ is back with a new series and I’m loving the first installment. This novella features Addison Clarke, a reformed playboy who has his eyes set on Samara Holloway. The two met at the (in)famous Arch & Point club where Samara was a popular dancer. They hooked up once before she left town to follow her dreams in Vegas. But she’s back after nearly a decade, and Addison makes sure their paths collide as frequently — and passionately — as possible.

Although short, this was a really enjoyable read. Addison and Samara have a playful banter that is flirty and filled with tension. She’s clearly trying to keep him at arm’s length and Addison just knows they have something more to explore. Samara is well-connected with beloved characters like Nubia Perry, Kora Oliver, and Nashira Drake — she fits in well but sticks out with an distinct identity and career. Addison, as one-third of a notable local family (his cousins are those Drakes), is trying to show her that he’s grown up and can be taken seriously as more than a hook-up. The fun is seeing how, if at all, he can convince her.

As always, Jones’ new book expands her literary world with the addition of a new restaurant, 81st and Clarke, and the introduction of new characters. It’s short and sweet, and as always, sexy. I can only imagine what’s waiting in store for the remaining Clarke brothers, Aiden and Andre — but I’m definitely ready to find out.

Cute novella. She didn’t give in to her heart until the very end of the book, although we got smut sprinkled the whole way through.

What a short and sweet treat! I am literally fussing at myself asking “Why did you take so long to read this damn book?” Nevertheless, I’m here on the Clark brothers train and I’m not getting off! Samara, a former dancer is giving Addison, the cocky rich playboy a run for his money. To avoid distractions while starting a new career path, she convinces herself that a physical relationship with Addison is all she needs, except Addison doesn’t agree with her plan AT ALL. While Addison and Samara together were combustible, it was Addison that stood out to me the most. He was determined to win Samara back with moves to capture her heart. Although his methods were sometimes unorthodox, it captured her attention . The fact that he was an adventurous freak was the icing on the cake for me. However, Samara had to grow on me. Her behavior was contradictory, judgmental and she hated constructive criticism but loved to criticize others. She had a huge chip on her shoulder and it constantly annoyed me. My feet on her neck loosened a bit when I realized where her fear of developing an intense connection to Addison came from. It wasn’t an excuse but I understood it. This book was hot, short and sexy. In less than 100 pages, Christina was able to give us a feeling of a full length novel with well developed characters. I will admit, I expected more when it ended seeing that Addison FINALLY got what he wanted , but overall, I still enjoyed this story. I am now curious and super excited to read the next book in this series.

This novella was everything i needed! A quick, steamy, funny read!

Samara and Addison meet again after eight years. Addision wanted her to stay but Samara had he rown plans that didn't involve that, even though he wrecked her from their night together.

i love how this starts off with them having some sexy times at the gym, then in a bathroom then in the laundromat LOL. These two never do make it to a bed but damn did that make for some good reading.

Addision is sure about wanting more from Samara but she's resisting. Well...sort of...more like resisting the emotional connection because she sure as hell wasn't resisting that d**k LOL

As always CCJ not only gives good back and forth between the MCs but the dynamic between the heroine and her friends and same with the hero and his support system (this time his brother. more sexy brothers?? YES)

There's a word we use here in my culture. picong. (which is basically banter or teasing another person) and the conversations between the MCs and their friends/family always has me rolling because they never hold back and call out the MCs for their messy behaviour or inaction. poor MCs really do get teased mercilessly but i love it!

Of course i'm gonna devour the next book in this series as soon as i can :)
