Pam Webb’s debut picture book Someday We Will presents a grandmother, grandfather, grandson, and granddaughter thinking about all the exciting things they will do together … someday: draw with sidewalk chalk, ride bikes, visit zoos and museums, and many other fun experiences. Although this book is for all grandparents and grandchildren who don’t see each other enough, it especially resonates in this difficult time when so many families are unable to be together. Illustrator Wendy Leach’s appealing bright, happy, excited faces and the edition’s sturdy binding and cover make Someday We Will an excellent gift idea for both grandparents and grandchildren during this holiday season.

Someday We Will describes the activities that grandparents and their grandchildren will do when they next see each other. The activities are simple ones that children love, such as going to the duck pond, drawing on the sidewalk, riding bikes, chasing bubbles, flying kites, reading stories, and watching movies. The beauty of the activities is that most families - regardless of income - can do them. On the last page, someday has arrived, and the grandparents are greeting the children as they arrive.

The illustrations are done in muted primary colors, and they cross the centerline, really pulling you into each spread. Both my 12-year-old son and I thought it was a sweet and beautiful story.

Someday We Will is such an appealing book! Author Pam Webb’s story is heartwarming and hopeful and loving. Wendy Leach’s colorful illustrations paint charming scenes reminiscent of simpler times.
Pam and Wendy couldn’t have predicted that the release of Someday We Will in 2020 would be so astonishingly well-timed, but during these tumultuous times when grandparents and grandchildren are having to postpone their get-togethers, this book provides a wonderful connection between them to share while they look forward to seeing each other again someday.

This is for all of those who have ever had grandparents far away. This shows kids that they are not the only ones who can't wait to be together again. Great illustrations to go along with this story.

As new grandparents of of a grandchild who lives 2,000 miles away, my wife and I love this book. We intend to hang onto it for now until our grandson is old enough to enjoy it. I've seen very few books that highlight this special relationship. Author Pam Webb's book highlights all the activities that grandparents and grandchildren will one day enjoy doing together including riding bikes, drawing pictures of dinosaurs and butterflies with sidewalk chalk, enjoying a swim together, reading a book, and many more. Beautifully illustrated by Wendy Leach, this book is sure to put a smile on the faces of grandparents and their grandchildren.
