4.5 stars: This is the fifth book in The Mountain Monroe series by Melinda Curtis and I am enjoying it very much. This series is best read in order as there is a lot of character development along the way as well as explanations of how the Monroe family ended up in Second Chance. In this outing, Jonah Monroe, finds his happily ever after.

Jonah is a script writer who wrote a series for television showcasing his cousin's talents. When he, like all his cousins lost their positions in the family bus

I really like Emily and Jonah, but they are both so single minded they can't see what is in front of them. Emily just knows that she will be happy if she spends the rest of her life with a cowboy. Jonah is anything but a cowboy. He is such a city boy. Emily thinks Jonah's cousin, Bo, is the perfect man for her. But, she can't even speak when she is around him and he doesn't even look at her. How can she get his attention? Jonah is so attracted to Emily, but if Bo wants her, he will help Emily. W ...more

I love this series and I love this book! Being a woman not of Hollywood’s perfection, it was nice to read about a woman who isn’t picture perfect. But was loved just as she is!! I read this as an advanced reader copy and have given this review voluntarily!!

Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen is a fun addition to the Mountain Monroes series. This series is best enjoyed by reading the books in order, yet readers could probably still jump in and appreciate the story of these two opposites who try to ignore the attraction between them.

I enjoyed the witty banter between Jonah and Emily. Even though they came from very different backgrounds and had different interests, they seemed to really “get” each other, both having sarcastic senses of humor. Jonah had a l

While you could read the fifth title in The Mountain Monroes series, Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen, on its own I believe you’ll get more from the story if you’ve followed this series from the beginning. There are characters who have already had and some who will have their happy endings one day in Emily’s and Jonah’s story – I always believe that, if possible, any series is best read from first to last.

On the surface, Emily and Jonah couldn’t be more opposite if they t

Emma Clark was a rodeo queen, but now she is thirty and no closer to fulfilling her dream of being married to a cowboy, working her own ranch, and wrangling some little cowpokes. Along come citified Jonah Monroe, a screen writing struggling with his own career moves, and Bo Monroe, a hunky Texan. Those two Monroe cousins have competed for a girl’s affections before and seem destined to try the same again with Emma.

Emma is a likable character as are the other characters in the story, including Em

Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen is the 5th in the Mountain Monroes series but can also be read as a stand alone. This is a story of opposites attract and matchmaker backfire. Emily, a former rodeo queen, just turned 30 and is looking for love, family and a ranch of her own. She is looking for a cowboy and thinks she found him in Bo; the only problem is she gets tongue tied whenever he looks at her. Jonah is trying to write a movie script about Merciless Mike Moody but just can't get the feel of the ...more

Another in the Mountain Monroes series, in which Emily Clark, who works at the Bucking Bull Ranch and has been hired to help a teen gear up for a rodeo queen competition. What Emily really wants is to find a cowboy of her own with whom she can build a family. After all, she's 30 and her eggs are calling.

Then Jonah Monroe moves in, determined to get the real scoop on the story of the gold-seeking murderer whose goods had been found on the ranch. He's a Hollywood script writer, but he needs help a

An unlikely match! With book five in her Mountain Monroes series Melinda Curtis brings us Emily and Jonah's story in ENCHANTED BY THE RODEO QUEEN. While the Mike Moody story line isn't my favorite in this series, watching Jonah woo Emily was so much fun!

Emily Clark is an interesting character. She's feisty, but she puts love for her family above all else. Now that things are settling down on the home front, she's wondering where she's going to fit in going forward. Her ultimate dream is to find

I have loved every book in this series so far! I haven't really know Jonah before this book. He wasn't a "cousin" that was brought out much in the other books in this series so when I started the book, I didn't know much about him. However, his character was fascinating because most of the Monroe cousins are social and kind of "well known" where Jonah, although being a Hollywood screenwriter, is quite introverted and quiet. He's also non-committal. We find out the reasons for all of this in the ...more

The legend of Merciless Mike Moody, the stagecoach robber who was killed in an avalanche near Second Chance, Idaho, captivated the people of Second Chance. Mike Moody's ill-gotten secret hoard of gold has been found. But the whole story is still untold until the Hollywood Monroe, Jonah Monroe decides to write a movie script based on the legend. Jonah hires Emily Clark, former rodeo queen and presently working on her sister-in-law's ranch, to guide him around the areas Merciless Mike roamed and r ...more

I have become a huge fan of Melinda Curtis. Her writing has a warm and appealing quality. I know her stories will be full of love, while people of different views try to get along and sometimes find more than friendship.

This fifth book in the Mountain Monroes series is a perfect example. Various people have descended into the small town of Second Chance over the course of this series. They are quite different on the surface, but deep inside they do want the same things. In this book two very dif

In Book #5 which I really liked a lot Emily Clark is ready to settle down, and she has her sights set on one Bo Monroe aka Mr. Bodilicious..the only thing is he isn’t really paying much attention to her. His brother Shane is marrying her sister in law. The one thing Emily wasn’t expecting was Jonah Monroe the screen writer to help her with making Bo notice her. Bo and Jonah are cousins. They have made amends, but are still not close as they were at one point.

Parallel relationships and confused feelings between characters are revealed in this fun yet serious continuation of this series. This addition to the Mountain Monroes also contains a different story that is a search for the truth of Merciless Mike Moody and Letty. Jonah Monroe is attempting to write a script based on historical truth and engages Emily Clark, rodeo queen, to help him through retracing Mike’s legendary murderous steps taken during his criminal life. Jonah, a writer, and Emily, a ...more

Emily Clark is 30, she wants to find love. Love like her best friend has found not just once, but twice. She wants children and a ranch of her own. What she doesn’t want is a skinny red headed Hollywood scriptwriter who is constantly poking and prodding her. Jonah Monroe needs Emily’s sassy comebacks to help him write a script about the town’s antihero, Merciless Mike Moody but unfortunately she wants nothing to do with him, her total focus being on his cousin Bo. However, not being one to give ...more

Emily Clark knee she would never find Mr. Right I Second Chance, Idaho. She is wanting to leave. When Bo and his cousin Jonah shows up, she thinks that Bo might be the one. He’s handsome, from Texas, while Jonah, who is a screenwriter, is too much a city slicker. Well a Hollywood man. Jonah needs help getting the story right for a script of the Legend of Mike Moody. He offers Emily a job helping him and he will help her get Bo’s attention. She finally agrees. The more time they spend together, t ...more

Both main characters are Hard headed and stubborn. I feel like because of this it really made the book. The banter and the back and forth just added to it even more. I like the kids in the story I always feel when you can let kids shine in a book it really helps capture the attention of the reader. What I also like was Moody Mike’s story was finally told and I like how the Monroe’s are back. I so hope Bo’s story is coming soon I feel like there is so much more then the little glimpses we got thi ...more

Another excellent read in The Mountain Monroe series of books. This is the 5th book in this series. And as with the earlier books, loved this one as well.

Emily, a cowgirl at heart and former rodeo queen is looking for love and so are her "eggs". Yes, her eggs almost seem as participating characters throughout the book. Makes some fun in this very engaging book. She has her eye on someone while yet someone else has their eye on her.

The relationships are fun and serious. And the book is entertai

5 Stars. Without sounding like a broken record, I can’t express enough how I enjoy The Mountain Monroes, and book five is another hit. The humour in this story is top-notch. Jonah and Emily are perfect together. Their banter lights up the pages. They make you smile and laugh out loud with delightful one-liner comebacks. Their budding romance is captivating to watch. Equally enjoyable was learning more about the mysterious Merciless Mike. I didn’t want to put this book down and I was sad to reach ...more

This is such a neat book to read. There is some quirky writing in here that ties you to the story. I so enjoyed reading Emily Clark's story. There is probably many people who can relate to her situation. Losing her brother brought on great responsibility and loss. With Jonah Monroe we get to see a man who hides his pain thru writing in a unique way. I like the way Melinda shows what Jonah is hiding and she also reveals more history of Mike Moody that makes the story more interesting. She does a ...more

Another great addition to the Mountain Monroes series! I was so glad to see Emily find her true love even though it didn't turn out to be who she was hoping for in the beginning. I was also glad to see Jonah end up with someone like Emily. He deserved her so much more than Bo. It was fun to see the underdog get the girl instead of the stud. It was especially fun finding out more about Merciless Mike Moody! I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!

I have loved each book about the Monroe’s. This book is no exception. Each one gets better and better.

Jonah and Emily have a wonderful and quirky relationship. Will Em help Jonah with the Merciless Mike history so he can write a manuscript for it or will she tell him to get list and make moves on his cousin?

You will need to read to find out!

Melinda Curtis brings us the fifth installment of her Mountain Monroes series with “Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen”.

The Monroe we get to learn more about this time is Jonah, part of the Hollywood Monroe’s. He’s in Second Chance to write a screenplay about Merciless Mike Moody. He believes he needs Emily Clark’s help in writing it.

A former rodeo queen is tired of waiting for Mr. Right to come to her front door as she decides it is time to move on and move out of town. But before she can leave, she gets a job offer from a city slicker from Hollywood.

She will show him what he is missing before she leaves as he isn’t looking for a commitment and happy ever after until he meets her. A delightful Harlequin story in the series.
