Dogs with lameness present a daily challenge for the small animal practitioner. It is absolutely necessary that the orthopaedic examination be performed correctly in order to reach an accurate diagnosis. This book is a well-organised practical compendium for diagnosing lameness in dogs. The reader is systematically introduced to the principles of the orthopaedic examination and the examination of specific disorders. The necessary examination techniques are demonstrated for each anatomical region of the extremities, and when necessary demonstrate on a skeleton. The reader is lead step-by-step to a diagnosis. Most of the disorders presented in this work are supplemented with extensive diagrams and case examples that detail the clinical presentation and radiographic findings. This is a concise textbook and practical reference work for diagnosing and treating orthopaedic disorders.
This book was very helpful for me since it was a quick concise read. The photographs and xrays also helped me understand exactly what the book was talking about.
With the exception of the library, you can't get a copy of it since it's no longer in print. :(
