A new beginning is my best way to describe what the Royal Bastards are getting. Out with the old devil and in with the new. We'll see how things change. Don't think things could be worse for some of them.
We see a lot of people who have been in other books of this series so far. Good to see how things have already changed for them. One person pissed me off. Guess he was just thin skin and couldn't take getting embarrassed but what he wanted done to her was over the top.
Good writing, didn't notice any errors and a great story. If you don't have the stomach for blood, violence and raw sexy scenes this series is not for you but if you're into all that then you really need to read this series.
Inked in Vengeance was wild. This book brings us back to Rancid that nasty piece of crap that put so many women in hell. Jamison deserved to come back and kill that man, but so did so many other people. Crimson brings a lot of people from other chapters into this book and it happened so seamlessly that I just couldn't put it down. Jameson and Sadie are a wonderful couple that deserves happiness! Great story. I hope to see more from this chapter.
Wow this is a dark one! Crimson Syn doesn't hold back in her newest MC novel with torture and mayhem a plenty. After being betrayed by his MC Jameson allows his darker side free reign and takes vengeance out on anyone he thinks deserves it. And at the top of his list is Rancid, the man who turned his MC against him and killed his woman. After biding his time in Hong Kong it is time for Jameson to return home and take his proper place as the President of the Royal Bastards.
Jameson has returned home, and vengeance runs in his blood. But there is something else that haunts him now. The knowledge that maybe his heart isn't as dark as he believes it to be. And maybe, just maybe, vengeance isn't his sole reason for returning. Fate definitely has a twist in store for him.
The story for me started with promise only because I haven’t read a plot yet where someone was exiled out of the country and returned back for vengeance.
That’s where the uniqueness stops.
Pretty standard MC story with BDSM undertones. If you like pain/pain slut play with blood and branding you may enjoy this book. Since that aspect wasn’t explored more thoroughly in the beginning, it comes off as simply torturing Sadie and not a consensual pleasurable experience. She passes over her like of pain with pleasure where this topic should have truly been explored deeper. It would have added to the story immensely.
Since this is the 1st book in this series I’m going to move Woodward with the second in hopes this acclaimed writer does better the second time around
I don't know who started the Royal Bastards MC stories but its a damn good idea!!!! I'm reading them by chapters (ie: Ankeny, New Orleans, Durango..), guess i should have started at the beginning! Loving how each chapter has crossover with characters from other chapters. I don't know how all of these authors are doing it!
Jameson has been waiting for the moment to take revenge on Rancid for 6 years when he killed the woman he loved and made all his brothers turn their backs on him, stripping him of his prez title and forcing him to live in exile. Now the VP of his chapter calls him to tell him that it is the time to go home, now that Rancid is behind bars. But Jameson doesn’t return with the intention of forgetting the past, he is going to recover everything he lost, he is going to clean house and he is going to make Rancid pay. Perros, another Prez, sent him a gift, a woman who betrayed him by sleeping with another man. Petros wants Jameson to punish her, but Jameson ends up falling for her. Sadie is the perfect match for him. The moment of Rancid’s death although violent was at the same time kind of beautiful with all the other Prez presents taking revenge on the man who screwed up all their lives, especially Gamble.
“Will you ever let me go?” I’m not sure why I asked, but there was something inside of me that needed to know. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to let you go, Sadie.” He pressed his lips to my forehead and squeezed me tighter. “I don’t think I’ll be able to do that. You may have been a whore back in Lincoln, but here you’re mine,” he whispered as his cock strained inside of me, stretching me out on it. “And I don’t treat my women like whores. No. I worship them. And I give them exactly what they want.” I shivered as he sunk his cock into me, taking me completely. “Your pussy knows who it’s made for. You feel how tight it grips me. You wanted me that badly, Woman?” He bit down on my shoulder. “Such a needy cunny, dripping and ready for her man. I want you to know, Sadie, that if you ever decide to go behind my back and ride a cock other than mine, I will make you suffer a very painful death.”
Elrik Jameson is back to take his place in the Royal Bastards after wrongfully being stripped of everything and now he vows vengeance on those who took everything from him.
Yet he is still being tested by those who want to see where his loyalties truly are. Will Elrik be able to prove his loyalty and get everything he wants or will something have to go?
This is another spin off of the Royal Bastards and I really liked the mix of characters in this one!
I liked Elrik right from the beginning with how he was getting vengeance for Poet and everything that he had gone through. To me he was loyal right from the beginning and when you begin to understand his past and what was done for him I really wanted him to get his vengeance on Rancid and everyone else that did him wrong.
I found it super interesting that Petros sent Elrik a woman, Sadie Robertson, who "apparently" cheated on Petros with his VP Hart, who we have met before. After already hearing Hart's side in a previous book, I knew deep down that Sadie wasn't guilty of what Petros was saying so I feel like there is still more to that story.
I hated Rancid in the last book and I hate him even more now. I hated his loyal members like Crew and Forger and I was so happy on how things went but that didn't mean it was an easy road for Elrik and his crew.
The end of the book was absolutely awesome with how everything went down and I totally did a happy dance when Gamble showed up!
The start of this book is way out there in perversion and violence. I read a lot of violence in MC stories, but this was very odd, not believable, and extremely perverse. The club environment is strange, the relationship between the main couple is bizarre, and the inclusion of the spiritual/tarot world seemed to be only because of the story location; that too was weird.
Your had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was like omg what’s going to happen next? It was a first for me reading your story. I hope to read more in the future.
I purchased this book via Amazon and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is a standalone but part of a larger series whose characters will appear briefly here.
Triggers: torture, murder, assault, talk of rape, sex trafficking, unprotected sex, rape, non-con
**spoilers** The author did a great job detailing this MC life story. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't hearts and flowers, misunderstood biker. This story was darker, more gritty and didn't try to make you like the H and h.
I did like Jamieson- he was beaten and thrown out of his own MC. Set up by that psychotic loser Rancid (if you didn't read the previous stories, he is the very, very bad guy who deserves to die a slow, horrible, painful death)
Jamieson leaves the country. Stuff happens. Eventually he returns to claim his birthright. Sadie, club whore, was thrown out of another chapter of the Royal Bastards by her (former) lover Petros (Petros by Esther J. Schmidt. He thought she betrayed him with Hart (who has his story with Gamble - Bet on Me by Elizabeth Knox) so Sadie was sent to Jamieson to be punished.
There wasn't a love connection with these two. It was suspicion, capture, non-con, loads of sexy time. I don't want to give everything away. The main characters end up together, more out of mutual sexy time and brokenness than love. But thats okay. Looking forward to more from this author.
I was in visiting the different chapters of the Royal Bastards and finally landed in New Orleans, the National Chapter. It was such a disappointment.
This book was a good guide to the different chapter President of the Royal Bastard and provided some background. However, the romance was non-existent with no development or what-so-ever. Jameson was just obsessed with Sadie who was a "traitor" to the MC right at first sight. There was no communication, connection or anything. He just used her body every time they interacted. I have no idea why Sadie had no complaint. Is she so staved for love and attention?
The revenge plot between Rancid and Jameson was so anticlimactic. There were so much happening and nothing happening at the same time. I have no idea what I have read and this book just didn't work for me.
The Royal Bastard series just keeps getting better. The more I get into the series the more intense and thrilling it becomes. The author of Inked Vengeance has done an outstanding job with not only the characters and the storyline but the way she incorporated the bikers from the other chapters was awesome. It not only enhanced the storyline, it also gave us a glimpse of exciting things to come.
Ink in Vengeance is based on the Royal Bastards New Orleans chapter, which lord have mercy says a lot. The powers of the bayou and it’s people are not to be taken lightly. That is especially true for Elirk Jamesome, the former Prez of the National Chapter. He was stripped of his title, framed for his girls murder and forced into exile in Hong Kong. Those years turned him into a cold, hard nosed man who lived for vengeance; biding his time until he could return and retake what was his.
Now is the time and this is a hard, dark ride of vengeance that you don’t want to miss. Who can he trust, who will survive his wrath? Simply outstanding storyline that I highly recommend (just beware there may be triggers for some).
Kudos Ms. Syn for terrific read and this reader is anxiously waiting for book 11 in the Royal Bastard series. 2 Thumbs Up and 2 Stars!
For anyone who is familiar with the Death Row Shooters will remember meeting Jameson when he helped Poe in Hong Kong, he later gets a call that brings him back home to Louisiana and to reclaim that which had been forcibly taken away from him that and revenge on the person who took it, he's not the same person he was before, the newly elected Pres of the National Charter of the Royal Bastards, he was softer, but Rancid made him into the Devil and he will pay for that. Sadie was once with Petros but she did something really stupid and now she finds herself locked away and in the hands of the National Charter and Jameson to find out the truth.
OMG, I loved this so much I finished it in one sitting, I was glued to the pages, I loved Jameson when I briefly met him in Poet's story and I couldn't wait to find out more about him. I also met Rancid in Hart's book Bet On Me by Elizabeth Knox and so knew what an evil person he is. I don't want to say more as I refuse to spoil it for anyone, I will just say I definitely think a person will enjoy this gritty story, I did, immensely.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
First things first; I love the cover of this book! Inked in vengeance is book one in the royal bastards MC series. This story is short, fast paced and action packed. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. This story is Jameson’s story who we have met in a previous book of Crimson Syns. In this story we get to see his dark side and his edges. Jameson was president of the Royal bastards MC before he was set up and later stripped of his colours. Years later and the man that set him up has been revealed/caught. When he is asked to return he is determined to get vengeance for himself and for his late girlfriend. What he doesn’t expect is to give another piece of his heart to another woman. The chemistry between Sadie and Jameson was clear to see and I liked them together. Both had been through horrific events and were barely holding on. I liked that they found one another despite the circumstance. I really hated Rancid, Snake and Forger. I was happy that got what they deserved. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is gripping read. I cannot wait for more books from this series. Due to some of the events in this story, I would give it a trigger warning.
I really enjoyed reading, "Inked In Vengeance". This book sucked me in from the first page and kept me entranced until the end. I've been looking forward to reading Jameson story. He has been an advocate in the past for another biker in another (Death Row Shooters) MC. Which left me intrigued to know more about him. Jameson's story was much more then I had expected. I loved to see Rancid finally get what he deserved to come to him. Vengeance can be sweet, it certainly was for Jameson in this story. Jameson comes home to take over as President of the NO Chapter. He's been left a gift from another Royal Bastards President. He finds himself in over his head with the one woman who hes to get answers from. Little does he know, that the little nymph has been as used, hurt and is another broken soul like him. Together these two find peace, happiness and love. (Even if he is in denial it exists.)
I liked how the author used characters from different Royal Bastard MC Chapters in this book. I'm looking forward to reading more RB MC books as they are released in the future.

The Royal Bastards MC is an exciting new series written by 27 amazing authors. The series has 26 books that are based on different chapters within the MC. Inked in Vengeance is written by the fabulous Crimson Syn, and it tells the story of Elrick Jameson, the national chapter president. I first met Elrick in Poet’s book which is in The Death Row Shooters MC series, and I couldn’t wait to read his story!
So, when Inked in Vengeance was released, I dropped everything and jumped right in! And let me tell you, I loved every minute of this dark and deliciously naughty story! Jameson is cold, ruthless, and on a mission for vengeance. The storyline is dark, gripping, and oh so naughty! You’ll definitely need a spare pair of panties for this one!
This book is dark and twisted, some very dark images but so compelling you just can't put it down. This book is a masterpiece that walks that fine line between pleasure and pain perfectly. The images though dark do show thru with the light of love. Vengeance is a dish best served cold and this book serves that vengeance at a perfectly chilled tone. This book was amazing the hero is dark on his best days a true beast of hatred and the need for self penance. The heroine is broken and truly just wants love and devotion, don't we all. The choices she makes sets a chain of events a lesser woman would be broken from but when you are broken you can't be broken again just reborn and reborn she is from broken peasant to queen of her world and his heart or what's left of it. Take this ride with them you won't be sorry can't wait for the next chapters to take shape.
Erlik Jameson, the Prez of the National Charter of The Royal Bastards, got the crap end of the stick because of Rancid. He's been in Hong Kong for several years and is summoned back by his VP Colt. After Willow was killed horribly Rancid, Jameson vowed to get vengeance and it seems the time has come. Once he gets back home he discovers Sadie who's been sent to the NOLA chapter by Petros for punishment . Only things don't go quite the way Petros wanted them to. I have waited forever it seems for Rancid to get his and I was soooooooo excited to see that Crimson Syn gave it to him in extremely deserving way. That worm could never be tortured enough after everything he's put everybody through. This book is a GREAT read and in true Royal Bastard fashion leaves you anxious to see what happens next. "They say vengeance is not the answer, but what is true is that it’s a dish best served cold, and mine tasted fucking delicious."
This book is like that one crazy friend who's always drama, drama, drama, but you just can't look away, because, trainwreck. It's a masterclass in balancing pleasure and pain, like a tightrope walker in stilettos. The images are super dark, but there's a glimmer of love shining through, like a lighthouse in a hurricane. Vengeance is a dish best served cold, and this book serves it up just right, except extra dirty. The hero is like a hot mess express, all dark and broody, while the heroine is just trying to find love , because, same girl. Her choices set off a chain reaction that would break a lesser woman, but she's like the phoenix rising from the ashes, going from broken to reborn, and from peasant to queen, with a few mishaps along the way. Buckle up, folks, this ride is wild, and you won't regret it, unless you're allergic to drama, in which case, carry an EpiPen.
Unchecked on the dirty side road into the swamp, dark and winding. What the swamp once has, it surrounds, holds and never lets go - like this story! Dark, brutal, dirty and damn good, with very fascinating, past loaded characters, who are actually done with life, love and people, but can't give up or stop and find their very own HEA. Fantastically presented and well written, comprehensible and with a lot of suspense, it was to the point. Oh and at the end a short reunion of old acquaintances of the Royal Bastards and make you curious about future chapters - great!
I love this project, how it is interwoven with each other and yet every chapter can shine with its author. I hope for more stories from Crimson Syn and the New Orleans Chapter, Jameson and the touch of Voodoo. I can't lay the tarot cards and read, but hope shines for itself.
This is the 1st on a new series and is Jamieson and Sadie’s story. Jamieson was stripped of everything and banished from the club and accused of killing his girl-friend, and now that the truth has been revealed he returns to take his rightful place as President, but he is not the same person he was, he is rightfully bitter and on a mission of revenge. Sadie is a girl he wants to get answers from, yet she is not in a good place either as she had been hurt and broken, and these two broken souls have undeniable chemistry between them. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and intense, and filled with betrayal, revenge, twists, secrets, and love. This story is not for the feint-at-heart and may contain triggers for some. I look forward to reading more in this intriguing and fascinating series.
This is book is part of Royal Bastards MC collection. Elrik Jameson is back to claim his presidency and to get vengeance. Only he gets more than he bargained for. He finds Sadie and is told that he needs to take care of her for her betrayal to prove his loyalty to the Petros. Only Elrik doesn’t see it that way. He is here and everyone needs to prove their loyalty to him not the other way around. Elrik is going to take down Rancid once at for all. This book is a dark one for sure. What I love about this collection is that the characters cross over into other books. Crimson did a wonderful job with this book. I was so happy that Rancid finally got his due. His ending was perfect and several people got their revenge on him. I can’t say enough about this book or the collection. Congrats Crimson on a fantastic job.
Inked in Vengeance is the first book in the RBMC New Orleans National Chapter series. There is a familiarity with the characters having read books from the other chapters, so it was interesting to get the story behind the National Chapter. Having Jameson's perspective put other pieces of the puzzle of how Rancid became National President of the RBMC in place.
The title says it all with this book, as vengeance is the theme throughout the storyline. Jameson is so caught up in getting his Vengeance with Rancid that he became such a dark soul. Then along comes Sadie and there was light. The enthralling things about the story are the MC action, drama, steamy erotica, and the connectedness to the other RBMC stories. However, there are interactions between Sadie and Jameson that fill up pages and do not help the plot. I tended to scroll pass those pages.
NOW, this is how I want my 1% MC romance to be written. The darker and grittier the better. Add in some vengeance and retaliation and I am all in. This series has been hit and miss for me. Some have been really good and others have just been meh. However, I am starting to know the random names that have been dropped in the books and recognizing when they show up where they are from and what their story was which I really like.
If an MC with a trigger warning is your thing, especially one that isn't cheesy, then this book is a must-read. Great transitions, strong characters that have been through hell, a purpose for the story itself. one, if not my favorites of the whole series that I have read so far.
This had the storyline potential to be an awesome book but it failed big time.
Where do I even start?
Everything was skimmed over with little or minimal detail: his time in Hong Kong, how he reclaimed his club back as national president was frankly ridiculous m, his insta love with Sadie, his vengeance or lack thereof on the rest of the chapters who didn't have his back, the list goes on.
I was so disappointed! It could have been brilliant. But there was no depth, no characterisation- we know hardly anything about Sadie.
He just walked back in the clubhouse n claimed it. Bizarre
Utter shame of a wasted opportunity
This series has had tge occasional 4 star read the the rest frankly had been mediocre, amateurish and poorly written.
