One more careless mistake and I could lose everything, including the career I have worked for my entire life. I’m just done.

Done with jersey chasers.

And done with women—for the time being.

That is until Sophie Thomas, a local magazine photographer, crashes into my life.

She’s bright, she’s funny, and there’s just something about her that draws me in. I know I need to stay

A debut author, but this book did NOT read like a debut. Fantastic -- beginning to end! Definitely recommend it to sports romance fans!

Keeping Score was a very enjoyable and cute sports romance read.
Braxton and Sophie’s story pulled me in and their journey was really interesting.
The story was very well written and had an unexpected twist that was uncommon and intriguing.
However, Sophie’s decisions and the push and pull between main characters slightly lowered my interest and I wanted more depth with the characters’ development as well as with Sophie’s relationship with her father.

It's a very sticky line for me to agree to read books by friends. I am always objective - but I want it known that I have a personal relationship with this author, but it will not affect my rating on this book. I have always prided myself on my ability to stay objective and respectful with my reviews.

Having said this, I want to say that I really enjoyed this debut book by Alyssa Kale. The bones of the actual story, the background - the storyline, were really good. Have we

Never would I have guessed that this is Alyssa's debut novel had I not known. Before I even go into my thoughts I just want to say a huge congratulations to her because damn she really did that. What a phenomenal achievement, all her hard work has truly payed off and her first book baby really is a great start to what I can only imagine being a wonderful and successful future as a author.

Keeping score is a sports romance with a few sneaky twists. As a whole it's a easy sweet read. I enjoyed mos

I would never believe this was a debut book. Sophie and Brax are both scorned by love but he is a world famous baseball player and she's late to photograph him.

Sophie might not have known the secret her boyfriend had but thanks to forgetting a lens, she gets a clear vision that he is not her future. I love how you can relate to her. She's not perfect but she deserves some respect and to not be left in the dark.

Braxton is a bit of a mystery. He's dealing with a bad past relationship and feels th

The authors debut book with a professional baseball player, Braxton is mending his reputation so he absolutely needs no drama circling him. He meets Sophie and while they didn't have the "hearts and rainbows" kinda meeting, there is just something about her and he can't get out of his mind. Sophie is getting over a *$% of an exboyfriend and trying to focusing on her photography career, never did she expect to have feelings for Braxton. As time goes on, these two spend time together and its inevi ...more

There were parts of this that I really enjoyed, I liked Braxton and Sophie as characters and I liked the story overall.

I also struggled with this in places. I thought there were some issues with timeline and how much time actually passed vs. how much time was passing based on the events in the story. There were some places where it bothered me enough to pull me out of the story.

That said, the writing itself was strong. And, I do think it was impressive for a first

Keeping Score is Alyssa Kale’s debut novel, and I loved this author’s sassy, steamy storytelling style! I always give a new indie author a lot of leeway with their debut novels, but I really didn’t need to do that here. Alyssa’s writing was engaging, brimming with endearing characters and a sexy, baseball-themed romance that was so addictive, I had a hard time putting my Kindle down.

Keeping Score was a well-paced, deliciously slow burning romance. The plot packed a double-play of em

Keeping Score is the debut book of the new and upcoming author Alyssa Kale!
Can you tell that it’s her debut book? No, absolutely not! The writing is flawless, on point, the story held my attention with a few twists and turns, and the emotions were real!

Braxton is the 1st baseman from the Aces, and due to an unfortunate incident he needs to work on his reputation. At a photo shoot with a magazine, he meets Sophie the photographer, who’s an hour late. She had a morning from hell, and is now havi

This book. My heart. My soul! OMG the raw emotions that are threaded through this story had me devouring the book. Honestly, once I started, I could not put it down. Between the concept, the fluidity and the character build in this story had me totally wrapped up into everything that is Braxton and Sophie. I adored everything from the moment they met each other, to how their relationship builds to how things totally play out. As this story flows, you feel that intense connection that these two h ...more

The storyline of this book was really good and I enjoyed the story overall. This is a slow burn romance that had some great side characters. This is a debut novel for this author and I look forward to seeing her grow as a writer.

For me, this book felt a little choppy at times and the timelines were a big issue for me. I had to step back a few times to figure it out. There was also a lot of repetitiveness to the point where I began to skim those parts.

I really enjoyed the characters. Brax was s

I would have never thought this was a debut novel. Alyssa Kale writes like a seasoned writer.~Lana~White Hot Reads

This book has all the feels for a sweet romance. Braxton Lee is the hottest first baseman who gets a taste of sweet and loving Sophie, who just happens to be the one who gets to take his picture for her magazine. After a horrible start to their introduction, Braxton realizes he was completely rude to Sophie so he decides to send her a nice gesture. After this, he can't get enough of

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, as it was the first I had read from this author, but i really enjoyed it!! All the usual tropes that sometimes turn me off of a book, but done in a really good way that added to the story instead of feeling like too much. Brax ended up being a really likable H, Sophie was a little harder to rally around, she sometimes came off as whiny & made some decisions that annoyed me, but I could at least understand why she did them. Overall, I enjoyed the book ...more

It's a very sweet story.
I loved Brax and his development. I think we can see very well a boy become a man by owning his flaws (and by flaws I mean his rudeness in the beginning) and later his feelings.
I would loved to see more about Sophie's dad, Spencer and Laura. Maybe in a future book?

I know it's a mean thing to do, but I couldn't rate it higher because of the typos and some confusing sintaxes. If I (with English not being my native language) was able to spot them it saddens me that the

This debit book was phenomenal!

Writing was superb.
Plot yanked my heart out and put it back by the end!

Braxton has had a rough go of it with a Jersey chaser and is a little on the angry side as he has a year of publicity stunts to repair his image!

Sophie thinks she with the man she’ll marry when she finds him in a scandalous position.

Neither are wanting or in a place to find their happily ever after but sometimes true love just doesn’t care!!

Loved this so much! Easily one of my top 2020 reads!

The book was so easy to read, and I loved Braxton’s journey from who he was with Amber and who he is with Sophie, but the reasons that Sophie wanted to stay away got too repetitive for me to really enjoy the story. I understand being worried, but it felt like I was reading the same problem over and over again.

This was a sweet, swoony romance.

Brax was charming, lovable and oh so swoony.

Sophie and Brax together were just awwww.

The emotion and sweetness makes this a sports romance worth a read.

You root for these two from the get go and I loved every minute if this beautiful story.

Epic leading lady and a swoon worthy hero to aww and gush over.

A must read!
