The Bride Herder #7

Playing Herd to Get

Harley Swinney has convinced himself he’s not looking for a wife. But Adeline Miller isn’t so sure about that…

1890 Bent, Colorado

Adeline has big dreams of becoming a journalist. But when her father sets her up with a matchmaker out west, Adeline must put her dreams of writing on hold.

Once Adeline arrives out west, Chance Redburn seems to have failed at his matchmaking job. As it turns out, her intended match, Harley, wants nothing to do with her.

A confirmed bachelor and hardworking rancher, Harley has vowed to make the family cattle ranch thrive—and he’s done just that.

His life is too filled with work to add on anything else—especially a bride. So imagine his surprise when he discovers his name was matched to a newly arrived bride from the east. It must be a mistake…right?

Never one to give up, Adeline sets out to discover if Harley is sure he doesn’t want a wife. She sees the way he looks at her when they see each other.

Does he truly want to remain single? Or is he just playing hard to get…

Loved it!

Very sweet story. Adeline was to marry Harley, but he didn’t even know his name was on the matchmakers list! Then after a few encounters with Adeline, Harley was intrigued, but never followed through. After a series of miscommunications and just plain stubbornness on his part, Harley realized what his heart wanted. He wanted his Adie 💘

Playing Herd To Get is the 7th book in the Bride Herder's series. When a matchmaker matches a young woman's name to a local rancher it doesn't go the way it was supposed to go. That is what happens when a girl from back East goes all the way out West to marry a man and finds out he does not want a wife and never signed up for one. Chaos ensues and the lovely young woman is determined she will somehow change this stubborn man's mind. The story is emotional and you can't help but pull for Adeline and Harley to finally get together. A wonderful story to put on your to be read list.

This story is well written and a little different as the female is the aggressor in this story. Harley is sure he want to stay single, all he needs is his ranch, right? Adeline was set up by the matchmaker for Harley, but he denies he didn't set himself up with the matchmaker. The reaction these two have when they are together is a definitely a match. Adeline is definitely a feminist of her time, and Harley has no idea what he wants. I like Adeline she knows what she wants and she deals with the problems that life deals her. Harley has made a prosperous ranch, but doesn't realize how lonely he actually is until he starts dealing with Adeline. Some points in this story are sort of sad, but there is also some very witty banter and stupid behavior on Harley's part. It's a story to just sit back and enjoy.

This is a really good story with great characters.
When our male matchmaker makes a match between one bride whose father sent her to Bent, CO to get married, he sets up a rancher who does not want or need a wife. He is very insistent on this issue.
Then she sees something in him that she is determined to get him to fall in love with her.
I really enjoyed this story and loved the tag and pull at heart strings that you really don’t know how it will end up.
This is also a fun story and I know you should read this story as I am sure you will enjoy it and I hope you get this one and the others in the series. This whole series is wonderful.

A very reluctant groom.
Adeline father has decided that she should be married so contacts a matchmaker and then sent her to the west to get married. Things are not what she expected when she reaches Colorado no groom. The matchmaker thinks a local rancher Harley Swinney would be a good match except Harley does not want to marry. Adeline and Harley go back and forth it was rather cute. It is a good story with outstanding characters and I just love it. I recommend that you check this charmer out. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Another great book by Natalie Dean! This book has wonderful characters who brings the book to life. I really enjoyed Adeline who doesn’t give up and is very persistent. Adeline made me laugh and want to cheer her on through out the story. Harley was so hard headed but keeps the story interesting with his wish washy thoughts. I really enjoyed everything about this book!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Harley and Adeline

This is a well written short love story. The plot was well thought out and the characters, continuing and new ones, were well thought out too. Harley was a rancher that felt his only priority was his ranch and he didn’t think he had room in his life for a bride. Adeline’s love was her writing and had only come to be a bride at her father’s insistence. Discovering love for them was a long and sometimes humorous tale that you will greatly enjoy.

Playing Herd to Get is a great story. Harley and Adeline are both great characters - stubborn and opinionated. It was fun watching Harley fight his attraction to Adeline. There were a few twists to keep your attention - including a snake in the grass. I recommend this book to anyone who likes well written, clever, clean, mail order romances.

A good story

Harley's- owner of a ranch and didn't want marriage.
Adeline- her dad sent her out west to get married.
I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written with lovable characters. Their story has a good HEA, it needs an epilogue or one more chapter.

Playing Herd to Get book 7 of the series by Natalie Dean. This was a cute story. The rancher did play hard to get. I thought Adeline brave to keep at it though. Good story.
