"The Kidnap Club". Protector of women, you need us, we are there! Oh my gosh I absolutely loved this ingenious concept! They had a strict set of rules though "No ruining, not even kisses." Yes, they were a trio that kept me laughing when we first meet them and our hero, Nash was the best!
Their next assignment was to kidnap a Miss Grace Beaumont who was being forced to marry before her 21st birthday to a vile man. Her uncle and the man were going to split her inheritance that she would get at tha

I did like the characters of Grace and Nash. Grace was straightforward and had experienced a difficult life with her uncle. She was obsessed with note writing and analysing them. Nash was handsome and charming and had quite the reputation as a rake but he was kind at heart. Nash has problems with his father and is involved in the ‘kidnapping’ scheme to earn money as well as help those in trouble. As Grace and Nash come to know each other, Grace makes Nash look at his past in a different

Grace is a wonderful character. Blunt, tactless and so sweet. Nash is a fairly typical rogue who is trying to find his way on his own since being cut off from funds by his father. The kidnap club is a group of 3 gentlemen who assist women with escaping indefensible situations regarding marriage, engagement and family abuse. Nash is the one who looks after the women until they are sent to better situations. Grace is his latest charge and he is baffled and charmed by her. The story is funny and sw ...more

Different Kind of Story!
Grace is running away from an unwanted arranged marriage - straight into the arms of Nash, her protector.
He is a member of The Kidnap Club and his job is to look after the kidnapped ladies. He desperately fights his growing attraction to Grace who analyses everything including him, making notes and more notes and then she acts!
A fun romance with an interesting theme in the tongue in cheek kidnap aspect and a great show of camaraderie between all of its members.
I loved the

CAPTURING THE BRIDE is the first book in The Kidnap Club series and we find a small group of men, some of them nobles, helping to kidnap and rescue ladies who are in situations detrimental to their physical wellbeing. Along comes Grace - soon-to-be heiress and about to be 'sold' by her uncle to a known wife-beater, possible killer. Luckily for Grace, her aunt arranges for her to be kidnapped!

This was a great story with Grace reminding me of Bones from the American TV show. Nash has never been wi

I’ll sum this book up for you.

Her: I’m tiny and I love my cat.
Him: She’s so tiny and I hate her cat.
Both: I love you.
The end.

I can only imagine that’s how it ends because I DNF. It was incredibly boring. The hero came off as creepy with his intense attraction to her and the constant references to her tiny child like body. And the heroine was meant to be unlike other women but all she did was cry and act like she had a school girl crush. They had zero chemistry. I gave it an extra star becau

Sissy's Romance Book Review
Capturing the Bride by Samantha Holt is book One in The Kidnap Club Series. This is the story of Nash Fitzroy and Grace Beaumont.
Nash has been cut off by his father so he has come up with a way to earn money in addition to helping women escape bad situation by entering into the "Kidnap Club". There are rules for the 'kidnapper' but go by so when Grace is the one he is with it is very hard to not throw the rules out. Grace is at the mercy of her Uncle who plans to marry her off to a horrid man so

I wanted to give this a better rating, but in the end it fell short for me. The writing is enjoyable and the story is nice, but too much time is spent inside the two main characters' heads as they think the same thoughts about each other over and over. The part from when Grace was kidnapped until the action started was too long,in my opinion, and the part from the end of the kidnapping to the end of the book was rushed. I wanted to see Nash interact with his family. I wanted to See Nash interact ...more

Promises to remain a captivating series brimming with tantalising characters!

Refreshingly different plotline that amuses, pulls you in with absorbing chemistry and meaty characters that make you want to look deeper and champion the couple from page one to the end.
Grace and Nash are an unlikely pairing at first glance but so perfect for each other. The romance builds and the connection blossoms and blooms through understanding and the desire to anaylse and delve deeper into each others core cha

Great start to a new historical series. Grace’s uncle plans to marry her off and split her inheritance with the groom. Grace’s aunt has a plan to help her, she will be kidnapped by the Kidnap Club and ruined before being returned to London to claim her inheritance. Nash kidnaps Grace and sparks fly between them. Will they find their HEA? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama steam and a fun an entertaining couple. I really liked it.

A wonderful tale of love and self discovery, as two people who should have nothing in common, somehow are perfect for each other. The story flows at an enjoyable and natural pace, with plenty of fun moments. Waiting for the next story in this series.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Kidnap Club Series, away from the ballrooms and all the rules - it was fun, humorous, dangerous with blackmail, cut off by family & a forced betrothal. The characters were so much fun, although some evil ones did appear.

Lord Nash Fitzroy was a rake, a gambler & an heir to a viscount in his younger days but is no longer any of them. His father cut him off and tossed him out on his own & he hasn't seen or talked to them in years. He did meet up with an old

Not going to lie, this book was a struggle to get through. To begin with, I saw nothing to indicate any chemistry or romantic feelings between these two. Grace is said to be "boy-like" and "child-like" in her size and lack of curves/other endowments, yet right off the bat Nash (a self-proclaimed rake) is immediately attracted to her sexually? Instead of coming across as lustful, it came across as creepy (especially when in the middle of the night Nash comes into her room to "check on her" and th ...more

The framework for this series completely intrigues me: a small group of men who for a fee help women out of difficult circumstances, such as undesired marriage or abusive guardianship. That strikes me as an unusual endeavor in a patriarchal society.

Lord Nash Fitzroy looks after the kidnapees at his rundown, seemingly deserted ancestral home until they can be safely resituated. Despite his prior rakish living, Nash has promised to protect, defend, and comfort, but never seduce, a woman entrusted

Great concept for a sweet and charming Regency romance!

Grace Beaumont does not want to married, especially to a repugnant man like Worthington. Unfortunately, her uncle is in debt and her desire for independence means little to nothing to either men. Enter The Kidnap Club, a group of three men who make it their mission to help women escape from their unhappy situations by well… kidnapping them. Set up by her Aunt Eloise, Grace soon finds herself (along with her ugly cat, Claude), whisked away an

Charming Couple, Great Concept

I found this book delightful on several levels. First, I love the concept of this new series. There are three men who can be hired to kidnap a woman to get her away from an abusive husband or a bad situation or help spirit her to Gretna Green to wed a person not approved of by her family. This first book of the series truly holds promise. Both lead characters are quite different from each other, of course. That is part of the fun of a romance like this. But the way

A funny and enthralling regency story. 4.5 stars

I have never really read any regency books before and I wasn't sure what to expect of the genre or the author, who was also new to me. The synopsis was compelling enough to spike my curiosity, but I was still a bit reticent going in.
Well, after not being able to put it down, and now being 3am when I have just finished and I'm writing my review, I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed this book.

I’ve reviewed this series out of order, starting with the second book, then, third and now first. Therefore I had the advantage of knowing a bit about this love story, even if it was not with much detail. I have enjoyed this series of books about the members of the Kidnap Club. I loved the idea of three men of the Regency era rescuing/defending women from dangerous men who want to exploit them by kidnapping them to safety. Starring Miss Grace Beaumont and Lord Nash Fitzroy.

I thought Nash and Grace were a fun couple. They certainly kept me entertained. Nash is a wonderful beta hero. Grace is put under his protection so he tries his best to resist her... and, of course, she’s a temptation that he can’t refuse. Grace is a fascinating heroine. She has a very logical mind and takes things in the literal sense, so she made me laugh a lot. I love that she takes notes of everything. It’s her quirk. Oh and Claud, Grace’s c
