I received Sparrows from the author, Laura Mae in exchange for an honest review. So, let’s get this started!
It took me longer than expected to read this book, but that was my own fault. Life happens. So, when I was finally able to sit and read it, I was excited.
Personally, I never judge a book or its story by the first few chapters, and even if I’m not liking the story I will continue to read it because I feel every author deserves to have their book, their hard work, their “baby”, read until th

I cried a lot reading this sequel. Laura captures the horror of Sydona Wilder being on the run with her ever-faithful fairy friend Raoul, with such depth, love, fear, and excitement, that the story unfolds in a blossom of fantasy-styalized writing, that only she knows how to bring to life.
Sydona learns to trust again, only to be flung to and fro, by her peers, into an array of fast-changing emotions; with constantly trying to figure out who to trust, and who not to.

“Sparrows” is the sequel to the book “Fliers”. I loved the first book so much, I didn't think the story would get any better. I was so wrong.

I was hooked from the very start until the end. The descriptive words used, succeeded in creating vivid scenes and strong emotions the reader can easily feel. As for the main characters, I could clearly discern the growth each of them had gone through, especially Sydona.

Raoul, the ever-faithful friend of Sydona, has changed due to the horrendous torture

Wow, this story developes into a real adventure.

Sparrows by @lauramaeauthor 🧚‍♂️ Syd is hurt by events in book one. In Sparrows she has one thing in mind: getting Dr. Malek and get even. Nothing is ever as easy as planned, and Syd finds out the hard way.
At the end all that matters is the people that she cares for. I guess I find out in book 3 if she is stong enough to keep fighting....

A solid fallow up to Fliers. Expanding on the world and the character development is top knotch. I really enjoyed the pacing of the book. I continue to be be invested in the characters and can not wait to see how she follows up this one. Great read

Being one of the very first to read the first installment of this series, I had to wait a year for the second one. Let's just say, it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved it and read the entire thing in one sitting. If you like fantasy at all, you have to give this series a try! Now, I'm itching to read the third one. ...more
Fliers (book 1) and Sparrows (book 2) were sent to us by the author, Laura Mae💗 We appreciate this more than words can say!
First of all, I love when I am introduced to a series that has already released multiple books in the collection! There is nothing worse than getting hooked on book 1 and then having to wait a year to find out what happens next!
Sydona is a “Flier”, a species of humans that can fly, and her companion, Raoul, is a fairy. Together they embark upon a journey to try to take down

I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for my review.

In Book 1, Fliers, We're introduced to Sydona and Fliers, humanoid beings with the ability to fly. They are hunted and captured and imprisoned in camps, so experiments can be done on them. Humans are trying to figure out how to gain the flying ability.
Sydona has a companion fairy, Raoul, who has been with her since childhood. When Sydona was a young girl, her parents were kidnapped by the corrupt government, and she and Raoul barely e

Okay so this is gonna be my spoiler free review! If you want spoilers you can check out my blog for the full review!

Sparrows, as you know, is book 2 to Fliers and man it delivers!
Tons of action and new characters, new scenery and of course new problems.

Syd is even more of a badass then I thought she could be ( why did I underestimate her to begin with?)
One thing I forgot to mention in my online review is Raoul, I still love him and my heart hurts for him - that's all

I received an ebook copy of this book and book #1 from the author in exchange for an honest review. I give it a solid 7/10, or 3/5 stars because I enjoyed it even more than Fliers! A lot of what I disliked about the first book was improved in this one, and I started getting settled into the world and its characters. There are plenty of twists and exciting scenes--and a sudden shift in tone, which was a bit jarring at first. I personally wasn't bothered by the increase in swearing, but it's not s ...more

'Sparrows' is a spectacular sequel to a spectacular debut. It has everything one could want from a fantasy novel including a large, varied cast of three-dimensional characters; ample, laugh-inducing mischief and mayhem; truly gut-wrenching drama that is surprisingly relatable even though the book is fantasy; a sweet, non-idealized romance you can root for; and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. Every time I thought I had the plot figured out I was totally wrong! Laura Ma ...more
