Anna’s quest for answers about her future propels her to follow Lucifer down the veritable rabbit hole. During her foolhardy expedition, she discovers the truth about Lucifer’s domain and the truth about Lucifer himself. She learns more about her parents’ forbidden romance from Lucifer’s perspective, and comes to understand that the tie that bonds two souls together can’t even be broken by death itself. All her life, Anna has lived with the knowledge that her mother chose to die in order to give her a chance to live. Being the recipient of such unselfish love and sacrifice, lays a heavy burden on Anna’s heart to make her mother proud.

Anna and the other Watchers soon uncover Lucifer’s master plan to prevent her from obtaining anymore of the seals. She also discovers what the seals will ultimately do to not only her body but also her soul. Armed with this knowledge, Anna can only discern two possible motives for Lucifer’s actions. Either he is simply protecting her the only way he knows how, or he wants to retain his power on Earth and ensure his daughter never stakes claim to her birthright.

In the end, neither reason is good enough to prevent Anna from completing her God given mission to obtain the seven seals and return them to Heaven. Even though Anna can feel the seals begin to change her, her commitment to retrieve them remains unwavering. Only time can reveal if Anna is strong enough to master the power of the seals or if they will ultimately master her.

Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University. Homesickness and snow aversion forced her back South where she lives in the land which spawned Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous gift named Caylin and they all lived happily ever after.

The second book to the Harvester of Light trilogy will be available for purchase no later than December 2012.

I loved reading how Lucifer and Anna’s relationship grew. A think Lucifer would have been a good father once he embraced the role. The ending was good, as was the rest of the storyline.

I love the way the author is developing the relationship between Lucifer and Anna. I am afraid for all of my favorite characters in the next book, so it will be interesting to see how the last book plays out.

Awesome!!!!

This author makes it feel like all the players of her series are real! After reading the series with all the same ones it's hard to believe they aren't real. Is incredible how she brings them all to life! I can't imagine anyone not enjoying these books!

This book managed to pull off a 3 star rating despite the heroine suffering from TSTL syndrome. I'm about to start the next book Redemption and hoping it will redeem the heroine of this otherwise awesome series.

Predictable

I’m so disappointed with this series. I’ve read the other ones so far and have enjoyed them. This one seems so predictable it’s almost a waste of time. If it wasn’t for me wanting to know about Malcolm, I would quit reading.

As someone with strong religious beliefs, I wondered how West was going to approach this. Certainly, she gave a totally unique take on Lucifer. Definitely worth reading.

Easy 4.0, maybe even a 4.5. In a million years, I never would have thought I’d find myself cheering for someone as contemptible and duplicitous as Lucifer, but West has made it possible.

Plot:
As she awaits her wedding to Malcolm, Anna visits Hell to find answers about her God-given mission of getting the seven seals and returning them to heaven. Lucifer does everything he can to keep that from happening, telling her that she will become more and more evil if she does collect the seals. Unsure if her father really cares for her or if he just wants to maintain his position of power, Anna makes several more trips to Hell, despite warnings that Hell could have a negative effect on her. During her visits, she learns more about her parents’ relationship. She also realizes that Hell has become too powerful for even Lucifer to control.

Characters:
Anna is as sweet and likable as she has been throughout the series, and she truly does just want to see other people happy. She does begin to change throughout the book because she not only continued her mission of collecting the seals, but also made frequent trips to Hell. I did find it a little annoying that she refused to listen to the warnings that everyone (Jess, Lilly, Malcolm, Lucifer, etc.) gave her to stay away. Looking back though, it really was within character for her to do that because she was so caring and protective of others.

Malcolm has become so much more than the skeevy perv we met in Forgiven (The Watchers #1), and while I didn’t really like him in the past books, I am actually starting to warm up to him. He’s really loving and sweet to Anna and even tries to support her when he doesn’t agree with what she’s doing.

Of all the characters, I would have to say that my favorite in the book is Lucifer. As the book progresses, we continue to find out that he is just very misunderstood, and I’m a sucker for the misunderstood. We find out that Lucifer is still reeling over the loss of Amalie and that he has loved Anna since she was a baby, so we really want to trust him. While his credibility remains to be seen, it was funny to picture him standing around in slacks and a sweater while attending a dinner party.

The rest of the characters we have come to know and love have returned, including Lucas, Jered, Brutus, Millie, etc. The princes are also back. However, the biggest villain in Lucifer was Helena, the personification of Hell. It will be interesting to find out what happens to her in the final book of the series.

Writing:
There were a few grammatical errors here and there, but the story was so compelling that they were barely noticeable. In terms of content, Lucifer included lot more sexual situations than the other books in the series, and some were pretty detailed. However, West does an excellent job of setting those scenes up and justifying them, so they don’t just seem gratuitous. There is also quite a bit of violence, some graphic, but if you’ve read Malcolm and Anna, you know that is to be expected.

The Bottom Line:
I love all of the Watchers books (Watchers, Watchers Chronicles, and Caylin’s duology), and Lucifer is no exception. I can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens to Lucifer (and Anna and Malcolm of course); in fact, I put off reading this book, so I wouldn’t have to wait as long for Redemption.

Lucifer picks up right where Anna left off. We get to see inside of Lucifer's head and his heart, although Lucifer protects both with a wall that has been built over many years, Anna is trying to get past it. And the question remains, will she be able to continue and complete the mission she has been sent on by God, or will evil overcome her?

We get so much information, along with confirmation, as to what could happen to Anna if she gives into the evil of the seals, that only she can retrieve and return to Heaven. We get to see the happy and gentle side of Malcolm, which he has shown us in the past, but to see just how much Anna and Malcolm love each other it's one of those moments that just make you smile. And to see Malcolm put aside his hatred of Lucifer, so Anna can try to forge a relationship with her biological father, proves love is stronger than hate.

While Anna might do something's that made me yell at her, (but really - when you love a character or series - who doesn't sometime yell at their kindle?) I understood her reason behind it, I might not agree, but I understood. Anna is a stubborn and strong willed woman, who knows she is fighting to protect the world and the people living in it, that she puts her own safety aside to get the answers she is after.

We also get to meet Helena (Hell, personified) and to know what kind of a hold she has over Lucifer, is chilling to watch. Lucifer, who I have always silently rooted for, showed me more and more, that he deserves to be happy, and deserves to forgive himself. In the story of life, no matter what we do, good or bad, asking for forgiveness is one of the most hardest things to do. Lucifer just proved himself at the end of the book, but you will have to read it to find out how.

I am always silently (and sometimes not so silently) stalking the author, waiting for the next book. This is a series that I can only hope continues (which the wonderful Mrs. West has told us will, with new story lines). To get the whole effect of this series I wholly recommend reading it in the order that they have been written, you don't want to go into this being confused or angry for having a story spoilt for you, do you?

Here is the order that they should be read in:

The Watchers Trilogy (Ages 13+) ~ Cursed, Blessed, Forgiven

The Watcher Chronicles (Ages 17+ due to mature content in books 3 and 4) ~ Broken, Kindred, Oblivion, Ascension

Caylin’s Story (Ages 13+ – Can be read by younger readers without having to read the Watcher Chronicles) ~ Timeless, Devoted

The Redemption Series (Ages 17+ due to mature content in books 3 and 4) ~ Malcolm, Anna, Lucifer

I love all S.J West's books. Of course I didn't really like Lilly to much in the first series, she was a little to perfect for me, but I'm not here for her!

This book was just as amazing as I thought it would be. I loved how we got a little bit more information about Lucifer. I also love how he is coming around more for Anna. That is a huge step for him and I hope we continue to see him opening up more.

Now I am sitting here waiting for the final book in this series so I can know how Anna beats her task. Will she remain pure or will she succumb to the darkness of gathering all the seals. We saw her lose it there for awhile, while trying to make one seal. I'm sure that it wont happen because come on we all know S.J. West cant let anything bad happen to her main characters in the way of going evil. They all prevail one way or another. So while I cant wait to know what happens, we all know what will happen. Anna will prevail, her and Malcolm will live happy ever after and more than likely Lucifer will get his act together and they will all live as a big happy family.

Can't we get a little twist in there though? A girl can wish!

Totally addictive! Love Lucifer.

Totally addictive! Love Lucifer.

Wow, I so totally could not put this book down. To say that Lucifer is in Hell is putting it mildly, the first time my heart went out to Lucifer was when he met Jess and I now find myself sympathize with him once again as we the readers experience his torment over losing Amalie the one person to date that Lucifer truly loves. I find myself hoping against all odds that he will save himself from an eternity in Hell by allowing himself to love his daughter Anna. Anna and Malcolm are truly great together but I expected no less from
S J West.

The only drawback to rushing thru this book is that I now have to wait till falll 2014 when Redemption will be released. Will Anna be able to resist the pull of the Seals that endangers her soul? Will Malcolm and their love be enough to get her thru to the end? Or will Anna join Helena as she succumbs to the power of the Seals? OMG, I can't wait to read what happens next!

The cutest proposal ever!

I love how these books take place right wherw the previous one left. In this case Anna goes after Lucifer to get answers in Hell. Which ofcourse only brings more questions than answers. Now here's a little bit of some the points in this book just to get you hooked. A princess in need of rescuing, Lucas future, another seal is recovered, dinner with daddy dearest, Helena, a super cute proposal and a wedding which ofcourse also means some very steamy scenes with Anna and Malcolm! Things are getting serious as Anna struggles to remain true to herself the more seals she collects. Great read and cant wait for the next one!!!

I loved this book and all the others in The Redemption series! Sj West's books are the ones that I find the most painful waiting for. In this book, Anna literally follows her father to Hell and learns more about how the domain is not simply a bad place. She also learns more about her mother and father's romance. I loved learning more about Lucifer in the time since previous series and since he became a father to Anna. The role of the seals becomes a little more apparent, although still so much to learn. Overall, another spectacular book by West. This book answered a few questions but left me with a hundred more. Cant wait for the final book in this series

Lucifer is losing control of hell. Helena uses Lucifer's pain and grief to gain strength and power. Anna starts to build a relationship with Lucifer. Anna gets to meet some of her ancestors and her mom Amalie. The wedding finally happens and Lucas finally gets the mom he has been having visions about. Anna still struggles with maintaining her humanity because the seals are having a negative impact on her. Absolutely love these books, only SJ would find a way to make Lucifer seem sensitive. I finally had the chance to read Lucifer. Anna will find more answers and discover the real truths behind her parent's forbidden romance. All she wants is to make her mother proud but also she is warned that darkness could take over her heart if she is not careful on mastering the power of taking over each seal.

In the meantime, enjoy some very hot anticipated scenes from Malcolm and Anna! Those left me swoony and sweaty! Cannot wait for Redemption!

Talk about the mother of all cliff hangers. I have read all of the books so far starting with Lilly and Brand. I love all of them especially this one. I guess o was just to into the story and didn't realize I was on the last page. So when I saw that there was nothing more I immediately gasped and called the author a bad word lol. I recomend all of the books from Lilly and Brand to Jess' story to Caylins and now Malcolm and Anna. Amazing all of them!

Wow

I never consider Lucifer as a victim, not even from his own insecurities. This story has changed that prospective for me.
Anna is such a strong character that at times I don't particularly like, but then sometimes I love her. What a conflict has brewed I this book.
I can't wait for the next book, to finish the saga of Anna, Malcolm and Lucifer.
I recommend this book to everyone, you are going to love this book!

Awesome

The author has such a way of pulling you into the ongoing series. My heart cries out to Anna and her wish to have a relationship with her father while at the same time I'm worried for her as well. I don't know how anyone could not fall in love with these characters.

I always had a soft spot for the Lucifer the S.J. portrays in her books but getting to know him in this one makes me love him and really feel for him even more. Anna and Malcolm are well on their way to being a family and I love how Anna wants to include her dad even if know one else approves. I am excited to find out how she will end this series.

A wonderful third book in series

In this book Ana and Malcolm try to figure out why her father is trying to keep her from competing her destiny. Malcolm begins to watch the love of his life suffer side affects and know that he can do nothing but watch her as she slowly loses herself.

Lucifer is one of my favourite book characters. It's a love/hate relationship at first, but it's full on love by the end of this book.
Lucifer' journey is a very, very long one, no matter who portrays it. S.J.West took a completely different route to most people, and made him feel. Thank you, Sandy. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Love!

I love SJ West's writing! The characters are so well developed, and the continuity between all of the series she's written involving them is flawless, yet she manages to keep you hooked and wanting more with every book! I'm gonna feel like I lost a dear friend when the end of the story for these characters comes!
