It's well past the time when Emi should've returned from Ente Isla-but Maou's too obsessed with passing his driving test and becoming a MgRonald deliveryman to dwell on her for long. His attitude is quick to change when he runs into a suspicious pair at the test center...just as events take a drastic turn at Chiho's school! Can the Devil King keep the peace in Sasazuka without the Hero around?
I was really, really close to giving up on this series but after this volume I think I'm going to continue on! Unlike a lot of the past volumes stuff actually happened and I didn't need to deal with Emi's angst. Plus some of my favorite minor characters (Rika and Lucifer) got a decent amount of screen time. I'm not in a rush to read the next volume, but I definitely plan to.
This was pretty good volume. It was funny, too. The last few volumes have been serious so this was a nice change of pace, I guess? I really like Acieth, she seems very cool. Very interested to see what they do with her. Lucifer also got a chance to shine, even if it was for like two pages. Suzuno, too, she was so badass. Also, Rika. God, I love her. She's so adorable. And what's this chosen one business? Intriguing. I was so close to dropping this series, but I guess I won't now that it's getting interesting haha.
What a way to get back in to a favorite series. This volume ends on a cliffhanger as the main characters are all waiting for word from Emilia, some new characters are introduced, and a battle begins outside Chiho's school. I had to immediately pick up the next volume to find out what happened next.
