读完让自己有种“能够准确描述各类社会现象”的盲目自信。前面几章写得尤其好，对于婆媳关系的解释让人醍醐灌顶：“由于传统社会中儿子是母亲唯一的养老资源，孙子是媳妇唯一的养老资源，儿子既是媳妇的养老资源，又是孙子的主要投资者，这样就把婆婆和代际关系媳妇放在了对立的位置：都在争取和依赖同一个男人，而两个人又分别和这个男人有着亲密的血缘或姻缘关系。这就构成了婆媳冲突的实质：对家庭资源的争夺。”
