This picture book tells the story of a person called Felix. Felix is feeling sad and worried and keeps all of his unhappy feelings locked inside a big black suitcase that he takes with him everywhere.
One day, a little boy comes and opens the suitcase while Felix is sleeping. When Felix wakes up, all the sad feelings that he has been carrying around for so long are free. He doesn’t have to feel down anymore. Felix knows that he can be happy and share his feelings with others.

Felix After the Rain is an accessible and hopeful story about overcoming sadness. I love the fact that author Dunja Jogan initially created it as a wordless picture book, before adding the text. As a result her beautiful illustrations, and use of colour, really capture Felix's emotional journey. A brilliant book for all ages.
