His Sweetest Sin

Rate this book
Listening Length 3 hours and 24 minutes

God has led me to a life of service. I never thought being a priest would be a career path for me, but here I am giving Mass and leading a flock toward salvation. My way is clear until a red-headed distraction begins to visit my services. Eyes wide and giving off innocence like a burst of effervescence, Lily is a temptation that I must overcome. But the more trust she gives me, the more confessions she reveals, I soon realize that the Lord brought her to me. I’m the only one who can ease the deep ache inside her and lead her into the light.

When I see Father Niall standing on the steps of his church, his open smile, and welcoming arms are just what I need. Even though I’m not a Catholic, I attend his services and soak in the sound of his voice, the warmth in his eyes. I don’t think he notices me. Until one day, he does. And then I confess to him about the ache I feel every time I see him. Father Niall is merciful and helps me in every way I ask. But when he learns who I really am, his own dangerous past comes to light. Father Niall isn’t what he seems … but then again, neither am I.

3.5 Sins Of The Flesh Stars ⭐

A story surrounding religion, a brotherhood of assassins and a virgin, it was going to be hit or miss. His Sweetest Sin started out promising and then turned into what I thought it might; one big Holy Mess. Although if hot priests get your juices flowing, it's worth a read because I'm probably the minority!

Father Niall is well respected amongst his community. He is welcoming, compassionate and a true humanitarian looking after those in need. And he doesn't take kindly to sinners who are beyond salvation.

"Your penance." I jab hard, busting his nose.

“This is just the beginning.” I follow him as he falls back.

When I’m done, he’ll never hit another woman. And if he does? I’ll bury him in a fresh grave in the church cemetery.

It works every time.

It was never on the cards for him to stray from the Vows he takes seriously. Yet when he can't help but notice his newest parishioner who seeks him out for guidance, he instinctively knows he's screwed.

Lily's intentions are pure, a young woman lost in a world she doesn't fully understand. Seeking out Father Niall was a cry for attention, because the emptiness and ache she feels is centered around a person who isn't available. But don't be concerned because Father Niall is happy to take one for the flock, to help with that ache...

"When she jerks, I grip her hips to hold her in place and feast on her. I will devour her sin and free her soul with the word of the Lord on my tongue."

Now your possibly wondering about the brotherhood of assassins? Well I'll guess you need to read it to discover how Father Niall and Lily are essentially fated. And for me that was the best part of the story.

Buddy read with Isabella.R I think she found what she needs in a short read. ❤

A parishioner and a priest who is also someone else weave us in a mysterious plot with passion that is forbidden.

Lily is sweet and innocent, too sheltered with an overprotective mom. She can't help but have unforgivable thoughts for Father Neil. Father Neil can't help but notice the girl who attends the mass but never approaches him. One day Lily finally finds the courage to advance him and confess her sins after that penance has never felt sweeter.

There is a mysterious plot and devious dealings of past. This is a savoury, twisted short story with incredible characters.

This lock down thing must be messing with my brain because there's no way I could like this 😂

But I did!

In the beginning at least, the forbidden aspect of the relationship between Father Niall and Lily was novel to me. I enjoyed reading that part. It all took a nosedive the moment brotherhood assassins showed up. Bleh... It was boring after that, but not enough for me to put it down.

The thing that's tickling me the most right now is the dialogue of the book. It seemed so unreal that it had me cackling at some point.

Just don't let my grandma know that I read this book, or I'm disowned. 😂😂
I have to thank Birjis and Isabella R. for this one. I enjoyed this short read ;-)

This one was taboo because welll Priest are taboo for me lol its forbidden and dirty-ish.. steamy.

Now i love Mink books.. so this story was hard for me to rate.. i didnt hate it or really love it, it was more okayish for me. Maybe the whole backstory why Niall was a preist now doing the lords work as a assassin? Idk something didnt click for me in that little part. But beside that i did enjoy the chemistry between Niall and Lilly. Even if Lily was super sheltered and did annoy me on her naive ways they fit with one another.

No ow/om drama(unless you count a guy trying to kiss her), no cheating, sexy times, drama, virgin gal idk his history??so maybe virgin.

Recommend- ehh maybe

This one was a bit too rushed/ random for me- and stop, I get that the hero was a priest but could he tone it down a bit💀💀. AND WHY WAS HE ALSO A VIGILANTE I CANT.

Anyways all that aside, I still liked it- it was fun.

Can't and won't rate this. Some topics should be left on their own and priest love is one of them.

I still love you MINK but this is a pass for me.

This book was hot with right amount of violence and an abundance of steam.
Enjoyed the story.
It was somewhat a taboo when the hero was a priest but I took it as in fictional sense.

When this man of the cloth decides to throw away his vows he does so with no hesitation. Spotting Lily sitting in the church pew he’s ready to get down on his knees for her.

Lily can’t help but be drawn to church that Father Niall presides over. The urges she’s been experiencing are all consuming and they star Father Niall.

She’s innocent and he’s a former hit man, now taking care of business, ridding the world of the scum that lurks beneath the surface.

The forbiddeness of their attraction to the other is steamy hot. When the cloth comes of except the unexpected as no one seems to be what they are.

"His Sweetest Sin" is the story of Lily and Niall.

A very very sexy romance with a priest who is an undercover killer and the college girl he madly falls for. Turns out, her mother is hiding deep secrets too..

I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to read her parents story!

This story was really different in the beginning. It is full of forbidden, steamy times. I love how it came back around, with lots of mystery and suspense. A few twist and turns for Lily and Niall before they find their HEA.

I really wanted to like this book because the blurb sounded very interesting, but I was not invested in the story and it took me a while to finally finish.

Yes!!! This is a taboo short story. With steam and thrills. The only thing that would make Mink's stories better would be if she wrote them full length. 😉

His Sweetest Sin is quite the naughty little tale. I'm going to date myself here by saying I was never one of those girls who saw the Thornbirds back in the day and wanted the priest. Not my thing, at all. But if Mink writes it, I'm going to read it. I don't even read the blurbs anymore, it has Mink's name on it and that is all I need to know. Father Niall, however, is a man I would want to sin with. He is so strong in his convictions and has a unique relationship with the Creator. All that comes into question when Lily starts coming to mass. She isn't Catholic but she finds such comfort and safety with Niall. That isn't all she feels and it gets to a breaking point where she confesses. Can Father Niall resist the temptation of Lily or will he abandon all he has held dear for a future with her? Loved it!

This book is so sinfully good. Its kind of taboo. Niall is a priest. Lily is a student at the nearby college. She sees Father Niall outside of the church one day and decides she's going to sit in on Mass.
Will Father Niall change? Will secrets ruin everything?

I almost didn't read this book. I'm not at all into that religious taboo stuff. Like, at all. I might have DNF honestly, if I hadn't read the epilogues first. The second epilogue intrigued me in regards to their son and the "marked." Unfortunately for me, the book didn't really touch on that part of the book very much. Fortunately for me, the taboo part of the book didn't take up the entirety of the story. So, it was an okay read for me.
This book was a lot dirtier than previous books by this author. Usually she writes more of a sweet romance. I find that I prefer that from her. I hope she leans more that way in future books. 3½ stars

A little too jumbled-up for my taste. I liked the Father/assassin idea but there just wasn't enough story or details there to keep me from going, "Huh? How did we get here?"

The couple: Niall and Lily

Romance genre: taboo
Length: 109 pages

Plot: Niall has taken on a life as a priest as a sort of bid for forgiveness. His life is a lot more peaceful than it used to be, even if his idea of assigning of penance is a little...unusual. But then Lily walks into his church. She's beautiful, innocent, and needy, and he should stay away. But she has as many secrets as he does, and everybody's lives are about to change.

Commentary: I noticed that in a lot of the reviews, people mentioned the taboo aspect of a priest and how that was too much. I always remember the time that I was in high school (Catholic
school) and Father Peter was giving a homily and mentioned the first time he fell in love as a priest. Could've knocked us all over with a feather! His point was that we all struggle with what we are supposed to do and what we want to do, regardless of whether we chose those sacrifices or not. I always remember that when reading a book with a priest in it - they're still human, with human feelings. It's just the fact that they chose to make a vow and then break it that adds the taboo layer.

Niall is not a normal priest, anyways. And Lily doesn't know the half of it, but her life isn't normal either. She has a legacy that she's unaware of, related to the Brotherhood, the shadowy criminal organization that keeps popping up in Mink's books. In fact, I feel like Lily's backstory is more unlikely than Niall's. And then of course the epilogue might have been the most interesting part of the story!

Loved this exciting, sexy story!

Father Niall has been called to serve God and he does so without question. When he spots the beautiful new parishioner, Lily, he can't help but think she was sent to him for a reason. Lily has been attending mass for a few weeks and finally gets the courage to speak with Father Naill. She confesses her sins and he tells her what her penance is. But can Father Niall deny Lily what she really needs and wants, him. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

DNF. God shouldn’t be in every sentence with your smut. Didn’t like it at all, and honestly couldn’t stomach it. I’ve read other priest romance, and they were fine, but this was so sacrilegious about God that I really hated it.

His Sweetest Sin is the story of Niall and Lily.

Tropes:
Hot priest with devilish thoughts about the heroine
She reveals her ache to him in the confessional
Insta love
Innocent cute sassy heroine
Hot alpha possessive hero
HEA and kids

Her mother is an ex assassin as said in the end and was in love with her bosses son or whatever and it’s forbidden for women to get pregnant or some shit and she escaped. She lives a private life with Lily who runs most of her errands. Lily is our cute heroine who goes to church is basically a good girl with bad thoughts. She goes to confess and gets her punishment with his hand. He can’t be with her but once God gave him a message that she’s the one, he straight away claimed her. Turns out he’s an assassin for the Red Dragoons and kills bad people unless they repent and knows that her mother used to be from the Brotherhood. So yeh in the end she’s kidnapped by her dad’s “brothers” but it’s actually his guards or whatever. Niall was mad asf for them even touching her. Her father apologised and reunited with her mother since he’d been looking for her for a long time. They finally got back together in a hot making out session and hugged her father. Tbh I didn’t feel that fatherly love from him. Anyways yeh. So it ended like that.

Solid 3.5/5, smut gave it extra points or it would’ve been a 2.5/5.

This one I really wanted to like.
I'm all for a taboo romance and I haven't read anything along the lines of a priest and his parishioner...although technically Lily isn't a parishioner, she just attends the church after seeing Father Niall and finding him attractive.
I know it's quite normal in a MINK book to usually get a more naive heroine, but Lily was just so naive and seemed to not know anything! Which in a way makes sense since that's how her mother raised her, basically alone and under her watchful eye.
But what I guess I just couldn't get past is that Lily had been out in the "world" since high school and she was so naive about sex and about the opposite sex. Please, I'm sure even in all girls schools there is plenty of sex talk going around.
Plus, I couldn't understand how Lily's mother never trained Lily to protect herself, knowing that there was possible danger that could find her.
There was just so much going on and going through my head about how 'wrong' this book felt that I didn't really get to enjoy it. There's absolutely no backstory on Niall. Like obviously he's an ex-assassin or ran around with the groups, so how did he get out? What part was he with? This would've been nice to know.

“This beautiful angel’s salvation rests inside me, and I’m the only one who can grant it to her. She came to me for help. I will give it to her. The Lord demands my service, just as her wet c- -t demands my tongue.”

Not much I can say except this book is unhinged. It’s not for the faint of heart at all lol. I like that the priest more or less acted like a priest and most importantly his inner monologue was what I would expect a religious person of that level to think like (not that his thoughts were holy or made sense 😅). My theory is that Father Niall is a psycho; he’s also a stalker. To me it makes things a bit interesting.

Lily is a decent character. I like that although she’s innocent she’s not completely naive. That said, halfway through the book she got annoying, “omg why can’t the priest put me before God? I should be more important than a invisible deity. Life sucks boo hoo” (not an exact quote but you get my point). Other than that…she’s great😂

Oh and the plot is kinda weird tbh idk if it’s trying to be a taboo romance or an action/mafia book. It’s possible to do both well (which this book attempts) but I don’t think it works in a novella. Overall this was decent.

His Sweetest Sin literally blew me away with its beautiful innocence and unapologetic passion! This story was deliciously delightful and thoroughly entertaining with its tightly woven and mostly mysterious plot coupled with wholly unexpected and completely lovable characters. I truly could not have asked for anything more from this marvelous author! She knows how to capture my heart from the very beginning and tighten her hold on it until I never want her to let go. The beautiful highs and the magnificent lows that we journey on with these incredible characters only propel this book even faster onto my all-time favorites list.

I truly can't get enough of this wonderful author and her endlessly unique creativity! She transports me into her world and makes me forget everything that I am dealing with. This book is the ultimate escape into a work of art that is so lovingly twisted and delicately devious that I savored each and every word. Oh, how I wish there would be more! This would make a fabulous series!!
