18 years ago, Sarah Wilson embarked on what was supposed to be her ‘right of passage’ European where she had plans to party hard; spend her mother’s money; and fall in lust with a dark Mediterranean sex-god. What really happened though was nothing she could have been prepared Tom MacCallum. Sweet and sexy, hopeless romantic, confident yet soft-spoken; a fire inside of him that she craved. And at 20 years old, she wasn’t ready for him. Is she now though? It had been 18 years since she had left that note on the pillow. 18 years since she had left him sleeping in the Billy Garioche Suite at the Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh. 18 years since she had fallen deep into those dazzling blue eyes. And now, 18 years later as she stood in the bathroom of that very same Suite, looking at herself in the steamed-up mirror, she felt conflicted. Life had given her everything she had ever dreamed of. Everything she wanted. Or at least everything she thought she had a husband; a career; the perfect life. And yet… Does the heart really just ‘know’? Or did she leave her heart here 18 years ago and fate brought her back to it? And after all is said and is Tom really the one or is this just another curveball that life is throwing at her, to confuse her and get her off track? About the author

Gretchen was born with a book in her hands. She lived in the town library, where she devoured hundreds of books every year. At the tender age of thirteen, she read The Stand by Stephen King and her love for writing was born. Her writing journey started when she wrote fan fiction for her high school peers, and they ate them up like last night’s pizza.
In 2018, she published her first novella and knew this was what she wanted to do—create worlds where her readers could escape to and fall in love with her characters.
She now lives and writes contemporary closed-door romance while sipping cocktails on the sandy beaches of the Caribbean.

Love found

Even if it takes a lifetime, eventually you'll reconnect with the one with whom you're meant to be. Sarah, the main character is normal and 100% relatable. I enjoyed the jumps back in time, as if you are Sarah, and remembering and revealing past events. This book is well written. The narrative is well-paced. I would recommend it to anyone.

I enjoyed this short romance about Sarah and Tom. So many things conspire to keep these two apart that I was never quite sure if it was going to work out. How can you hold onto a once in a lifetime love for 18 years and not move forward? No spoilers here. You'll have to read this yourself in order to find out.

I will say that there are many skips back and forth in time so you need to pay attention. I did enjoy the characters as well as the main storyline.
