Nerissa has been defeated and order has once again been restored in Candracar, but Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin can't rest easy just yet. Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

Moje dětství ve světě Witch. Na tyhle strážkyně nezapomenu, provázeli mě celým dětstvím a já jsem do nich byla úplně ''zažraná''. Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia a Hay Lin, všechny jsem je milovala.
Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin....
Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)

This was a fantastic re-read, Will's dad is back and causing drama in Will's life. She meets Mandy and blows up at Matt, then she actually finds out the truth and feels bad. This really was a lot of change for Will. Taranee is really hit hard by her mother's disapproval about her night, she ends up grounded but she find out part of why Will's dad is back. Their was much change for the girls in this part of the story and it was very dramatic. It was very enjoyable.

Great. This fucker's back. I suppose this is where it gets crappy. I don't care about the non magical stuff. The further we are, the less magical it gets.

Last summer I started re-reading the books on my favorites shelf I could no longer remember very well to decide if they were still favorites or not. I knew from the moment I opened the first book of the W.I.T.C.H. series that I would have outgrown them, but I still wanted to read them for the ride back to my girlhood. Unfortunately, I had to stop at book #13 when school started again, but this summer I continued where I left off.

Anyway, onto this book. Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin successfully defeated the evil sorceress Nerissa and returned Caleb to Metamoor - but they are about to face bigger problems than evil sorceresses. That is, planet Earth and all the problems that come with being an eigth grade girl. Will's dad has showed up in town again after ten years of not being around - and Taranee's mom is angry at her for "lying" about going to the Rock and Roll Cafe (when in fact she didn't lie, she just didn't know it was closed on Tuesdays). And Irma is trying (unsuccessfully) to find a boy to date so that she can stop being a third wheel around Hay Lin, Eric, Taranee, and Nigel.

This is the first book in the entire series where we just see them being normal girls, and having normal girl problems. Jealousy, uncertainty in the face of your parents fighting, trying-to-get-revenge-on-your-mom-by-tanking-your-grades, trying make-up for the first time, and trying too hard to get a boyfriend because all of your friends are.

As much as I love watching them fight sorceresses and taking down evil Metamoorian dictators, I also loved seeing them just be girls one time. In the next book they are going to be using their magic powers once more, but this was a really nice break and it was possibly my favorite out of all of them so far reading them as an adult. Definitely keeps its five stars.

Nerissa's defeat has brought back peace to Candracar, yet there's no time for the Guardians—Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin—to relax. Will is uncertain about her future with Matt, while Taranee harbors a game-changing secret. Will grapples with unresolved matters, and Matt's behavior raises questions as a mysterious new girl enters his life.

I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

Although these books are well below my reading age, I still enjoy them because they were the first books i really liked to read and when i was younger I never finished the series so I am now.
