En historie så fantastisk som det bedste fra Isabel Allende, så fantastisk, at man dårligt kan tro den (og faktisk opfordres til IKKE at tro!) - og samtidig fortalt med en umiddelbarhed, der gør, at man ikke kan andet end tro. Og med en alvorstunghed i sin beskrivelse af en dansk jødes skæbne under 2. Verdenskrig, som ikke kan (eller skal) glemmes.

Pierre le Grand voue une passion particulière aux nains, il en possède toute une cour, et Frederik IV ne pouvait trouver meilleur cadeau de bienvenue que la naine Sørine, la créature la plus vilaine et revêche que l'on puisse imaginer. Sørine, ou de son nouveau nom russe Surinka, est la narratrice de ce récit, dans une Russie en pleine mutation. Une femme qui n'a pas la langue dans sa poche, et dont le destin sera exceptionnel. Bravo, Peter Fogtdal.

En utrolig historie om en jødisk/arabisk dreng, der bliver flyttet fra Palæstina til Danmark. Interessant, men lidt ujævn i fortællingen
