Jeg har både læst denne bog på dansk og på fransk. Den er et mørkt mesterværk om en østrigsk soldat i danmark, der virker som et rart menneske, men han har i den grad lig i lasten - en fortid som propaganda skribent og som soldat på østfronten.

Vidunderlig fortalt, man kan simpelthen ikke slippe den. Fogtdals næstbedste roman efter Drømmeren fra Palæstina.

En af de bedste danske romaner, jeg harr laest. Den er uhyggelig, tankevaekkende og svaer at laegge fra sig.
