Finding My Way: A memoir of abuse, neglect, failure, resilience, inner strength and powering through life in The Bronx

Rate this book
In Finding My Way, I reflect on my childhood traumas, which were filled with abuse, neglect and failures. However, the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me because my inner strength helped me power through adversities. I am strong because I've been weak. I am fearless because I've been afraid. I'm wise because I've been foolish. I have survived difficult times because I've learned that when you don't love all of you and are afraid to show people the less than stellar parts, the space between you and vulnerability is like the Grand Canyon. It took all the courage I had to make the leap across, but when I started loving myself I stopped worrying if someone else didn't. Once I was less afraid of rejection I stepped into a place of openness. It has taken years to work through all aspects of my abuse and Finding My Way is filled with layers of pain and shame that needed to be peeled to it's core so that I can show up and be present in daily living and do things I think I fear and believe I cant do.
