This book is a bit dated. It is an account of the history of the Arizona contingent of the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry from its recruitment to its disbandment. It contains many colorful anecdotes about individual soldiers from the unit. The book would be of interest to readers of Arizona History and those who want to read about the Rough Riders.
