When Lisa joins her roommate for Fall Break at her family lodge in the woods, she expects fall colors, promised cookies, and time to read by the fire. She definitely doesn't expect her roommate's handsome older brother Jason giving her a tour of the lake.

Jason loves his family, loves the outdoors, and loves when he can combine the two into one outstanding weekend. Throw i

The author(s) are friends of mine. Well. Friend and husband. So take that as you will.

This is a fun, funny romance that's perfect for reading when you need a little stress relief--and who doesn't these days? I admit to having had some trepidation when Jacob told me he wanted to base some of the initial conflict on our own relationship history. I was afraid he would end up sticking too close to history and making it into an Emotional Therapy book instead of a fun novel. Fortunately, that wasn't t

The birth of this story was Jana asking me "Can you think of a story that would go with this cover?" And I said "Maybe? I'm not sure it works like that." But then I had an idea for Jason a couple minutes later. And an idea for Lisa popped in shortly after. By the end of the evening, I had the opening scenes in my head and we talked out some of the details and a plan to meet on Tuesdays to go over progress.

Plot twist: we ended up not using that cover after all.

This is the first full-length collab

4stars. It was a very light and clean read. I enjoyed because of the lacking of drama. I was in need of a drama free “something”. It’s a book about 2 people who became friends 1st and as the time passes they “discover” they want to be more than friends and want more from each other. They just think they have a list of “qualities” they want to find in their partners for life, but life, little by little, shows them that love doesn’t follow rules or lists. I can’t say much more otherwise I’ll spoil ...more

I am a huge fan of one person from the duo behind this author’s name, which is why it really pains me to give this story only 2,5 stars… but I cannot give it more… not gonna lie, if it wasn’t for that one author, I was seriously tempted to DNF this book on more than one occasion… and it’s not even that long to begin with *sighs* especially since the premise and the whole idea for this story is one that I usually love… I mean, slow burn romance, friends turn to something more between characters w ...more

This was a very soothing read for right now, a story of two good-hearted people that take some time to understand the nature of their feelings for each other. There was no silly drama, just natural ups and downs.

We get to know the male lead, Jason, better than Lisa, the female lead. We see Jason in the context of his family, his interactions with his sister, father, cousin, and we also get to see him doing something he really loves (teaching skiing), and I enjoyed that: I came to like Jason inde

A sweet little story. There are several reasons why I liked it:

- Likeable and believable protagonists
- Just right to escape from Corona-blah
- No artificial prolongation by stupid misunderstandings
- No love triangle!
- It is co-written by a Goodreads friend of mine :)
- And, highlight: A quote from "Friends"!

Waiting for Beth's story now.

The genesis of this book was a fun one. Jadelynn Asher is a pen name for Jacob and I and you can read about how we came up with that over on - shameless plug, that's me. But it was basically a matter of Jacob knowing romance in and out and me knowing how to write and having interest in romance. So this was our first collaboration where we brought those skills together and worked all the way through the creation of a book.

We learned a lot doing this and I'm really pleased w

I have to rave about this one. I don’t read a ton of romance, but every so often, one hits the right spot. This one started out nice and easy. Even prose and lots of things I relate to as part of an extended family and a former college girl. Lisa is a smarty pants and Jason is an outdoorsy gentleman. They complement each other well, and the Picard-Kirk debate relationship is solidly in my wheelhouse. Lisa is my spirit animal. About a quarter through, it grabbed me and I finished the whole thing ...more

I had trouble getting into this story at the beginning and thought about stopping. I persisted and I am glad I did. This was a really enjoyable story about friendship turning into love. Jason was a great character.
