L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference. The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal. L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers. With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet
I never can decide if I should wait and savor having a new book from L to read or just jump in to it. I have all of her books they have been read and re-read that is how good they are, I do highly suggest reading them in order the first time. I love her characters and her gadgets, and her tech ideas. The world would be a better place if everyone believed what she has explained so well in honor, and brotherhood. Jack and AJ did their part cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I loved the start of this series. As is with this author's other series and books the theme of brotherhood and family is strong. We get to learn about Bravo Rising and what makes up the highest levels of this affiliate to Phoenix. It is interesting and flows well. One of my favorite parts is the character building that happens here. We get to learn a fair amount of who Jack is. I liked the added view into his and Ranger's background.
Love this series!, Loved Jack and his Pepsi Girl Jack Decker and Ranger Ross grew up together in the Michigan club. The first little brothers to come up in the vision of Ben James. Raised by single father's, Ranger by the Pres and VP his adopted Father and Uncle and Jack their SAA. They were as close as brothers until Ranger was sent to the Army and he was sent to the Air Force. With the death of their Pres, VP and Jack's father the SAA, the club changed. Ranger found a new home at Phoenix Rising, a club that their father's would have been proud of. He reached out to Jack. Jack is now training under Jordan, the Pres of Alpha Rising, in the roll he was groomed for VP to Rangers Pres. Ben Knight and Cort Masters have other ideas. Jack is moved to Bravo Rising as VP under Cort's former SAA, Falcon. Falcon, a former SEAL, he did not grow up Badass, but he is everything they stand for. Jack feels he has found his place, in a club his Pres, VP and father would have been proud of. His little A's buddy, Alder, wants to follow him. His brother Asa, who is close to Falcon does as well. Jack and Alder finds a way to help their SAA, Mag, with his special needs son, Tyson. Helping kids is a big part of who Jack is. Then he meets Mag's sister, AJ, his Pepsi Girl. The newest member of their IT team. He is captivated. AJ and Mag's father was MC and career Air Force, lost in the line of duty. Her brother has jumped club to club looking for a place that works best for his son and their mother has stayed with him. AJ stayed largely away from the club until she was in college. She never felt women were treated well, even when they were old ladies. Phoenix and now Bravo are different. She is trying to navigate a whole new lifestyle. As she grows closer to Jack, she gets friction from her mother and brother. When she gets her dream job and then promoted on her first day. AJ has found a home. A crazy trip to Walmart. Some run in's with a militia in the desert. Jack claims his Pepsi girl. He reconnects with his brother Ranger. He finds in Falcon a man he can respect and his all in with his new club. Fast paced a little steamy, great addition to the series. Can't wait for Falcon and Mag's story.
I love this author and all her books. She has an exceptionally brilliant mind. This book, just like all the rest, is easy reading. I couldn't put it down. Her story lines are unique, she's got the emotions down perfectly and her humor is off the charts. I also like that she intertwines her other MC characters more with each new book. Those guys will always be my favorite of her characters. Love the new series and can't wait for the next book.
Jack and AJ’s story is absolutely awesome!! You are seeing the development of the affiliates and Bravo Rising. Falcon lucked out with Jack as his VP and Jack scores with Pepsi! I love his description of her and how he kept getting different pictures of what she reminded him of. Glad Pepsi girl stuck. All the A’s are fantastic!! They just make my heart sing!! Love the start to this trilogy and can’t wait to read the next!!
I restarted this whole series of books, beginning with the Baxters. I love this whole thing, which explains why I have re-read it three times now, usually when at least two more come out. There is just that extra that these books have. If I could live in this world I would. But I just have to settle for badass, the stooges, and everything else and hope they keep coming.
Jack is the new VP of the club and Rangers friend. He's all about honor and showing love for his brothers and finds his one in AJ his club brother sister. Another great book in this series
The author's writing style improves with each book she writes. Her characters grow and we see more depth to each one as they reappear in different books. Her story lines get richer and richer as her series increase.
Excellently written with lots of detail and a great storyline. I love a book that makes you laugh and makes you cry. 1st time reader gonna go start the other books
I love this one because Jack and Ranger , these two have been best friends / brothers since forever and grew up in BadA** , Jack meets AJ his Pepsi girl who is Mags little sister and that is that they are perfect for each other
Jack is such a great new addition to the Badass family. He and AJ are perfect together. I think the part I like best about the story was the alpha-bets And seeing how they are evolving and growing,
I like how the time is given to explain the thought behind actions, and each fight scene moves so fast it’s like watching it in your Head. Most of all I love how strong the ladies are.
Like the others love L Ann Maree couldnt put it down she gets you invested in the people. Loved the Walmart part cant wait am now on next in series. Also fummy & full of love for all *********
This is an awesome story. Jack and Pepsi make such a beautiful couple. It's full of heart, action, drama and comedy. I can't wait for the next story to come out.
This is the first book in a new offshoot series from Badass. There are many characters that cross over from previous books, and will be difficult to follow if you don’t start at the beginning of the original series.
This book follows Jack who grew up with Ranger, from Phoenix Rising MC. Ranger suggested him as a VP for Jordan in the City and then was quickly moved across to Bravo Rising when it was set up. In this book we learn a lot more about what it was like for Ranger and Jack growing up in a Badass Affliate and how their fathers raised them to support each other and promote the Badass way of life, to protect and honour.
Falcon the Pres of Bravo Rising wasn’t raised Badass but follows a similar way of thinking. Jack is soon persuaded to teach the way he is Badass to the bone. Two of the As follow Falcon and Jack, Asa and Alder. Alder is to be Jack’s support and Asa is Falcon’s. It’s good to see the way the As are growing more independent and following their own dreams for work and friendships. The Alpha-Bits have a lot to share about living with honour, they are also a motivation for why Badass must live to protect and serve the community.
In this book we also see the romance bloom between Jack and AJ, who is Mag’s younger sister. She comes to Bravo for a job as she’s just finished college and needs to find work in IT. Mag is the SAA and has been raising a disabled son with help from his mother since his Ol’ Lady left. He is staggered to find how much support he can expect with his son and Jack helping is how he meets AJ, who he calls Pepsi, because she looks like the girl from the old ad. As usual the romance is usually fairly quick and seamless. It’s all the outside stuff that keeps things interesting in these books. I kind of like that there isn’t a tonne of drama in the romance portion of the book.
I really liked this book and felt the theme of honour helped pull everything together really well. Having a theme may seem obvious, but I felt it helped the plot and the story telling.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
I love L Ann Maries Badass Series, I really do, however I will admit I struggled a little with this book. It seemed a little disjointed in parts. The relationship between Jack and AJ kinda feels like it takes a back seat to everything else that is going on and felt rushed with not much in depth feeling to it at all. I hate giving it such a low rating as the series as a whole is great but I feel this book missed the mark.
Another fine tale from this wonderful storyteller. Full of love, action, danger and laughter. Re-read again April 2023. Still laughed a lot and cried a bit.
