Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my rating or review.

Where was my romance? Seriously. It took a good 3/4 to even get to any scenes between Tank and Cassie. This book was way too hyper focused on Cassie's business and Tank's ex. I think since Snow is setting up Tank's ex as the main heroine in the next book, she had to give her some weight here, but it ended up being about 50 percent Cassie's story I felt and 50 percent Tank's ex's story. It's a shame too

Everyone know that long-time best friends Cassie Reynolds and Tank Wheeler have stronger feelings for each other. Even they know it. But for the single dad, his ten years old daughter has always been his priority and he's got a complicated past that surrely explain his commitment issues. Well, both their lives are about to get more complicated because his ex, Kaia's mom, is back and Cassie also have to deal with some tough competition with her wilderness-adventures business.

Despite having adored the first book in the series I was hesitant to pick up the second. It was one of those moments where I kept thinking this wouldn’t be as good and I was definitely wrong! It was so nice to be back in Wild River again and Tank and Cassie had such great chemistry as friends and even hotter chemistry as lovers. I’m a sucker for a single dad trope and Kaia stole my heart as well. I can’t wait to continue to catch up with this series 💖

Under an Alaskan Sky was my first Jennifer Snow book. I have to say, I have found a new author to read and a new series to love!

Cassie and Tank are one of those meant-to-be couples even if they are the only two who don't know it... correction-even if Tank is the only one who doesn't know it. Cassie sure as heck knows that she belongs with him and after five years, she's tired of waiting. When his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, waltzes back into Wild River, Alaska, life gets compli

It was great to read about some of my favourite characters from An Alaskan Christmas. You do not have to have read that book to enjoy this one, but we meet these characters in the first book in the series and I was pleased to read their story.

Tank, the owner of the Drunk Tank, the only bar in town, is afraid. Cassie is his best friend and he's desperately afraid to lose her. Not just as his best friend, but as the role model he depends on to help him with his ten-year-old daughter, Kaia. He is a

I enjoyed this and wanted to see how this couple got together. It's a little crazy they didn't before. There was a bunch of drama, resolved almost too easily. There were too many things where I had to suspend disbelief. It was great to see them be adults in the end though.

I enjoyed the first book, An Alaskan Christmas, so I looked forward to the second book in the Wild River series. I had high hopes for this one but ended up just feeling kind of meh about it. The main characters had such potential but Tank disappointed me in his indecision and reluctance to man up regarding Cassie (friend and lover), Kaia (daughter), and Montana (ex) until the last possible minute. I admired that he put hi

Cassie owns an adventure sports business in Wild River. She's been in love with Tank for years while helping him care for his 11 year old daughter, Kaia. Tank has been a single parent for nearly the entirety of Kaia's life after her mother (Montana) left both of them when she was practically a newborn. Cassie and Tank are desperately in love with one another. Cassie is ready to make their relationship official but Tank is afraid to make that leap. He hesitates because of the dangerous nature of ...more

I didn't read book 1 in the series and it wasn't necessary to read this one.

Tank and Cassie have been friends for a long time and though there's an obvious attraction between them, Tank won't let anything more happen between them. He's got lots of issues and Cassie is very patient with him. Between his 10-year-old daughter, and this business, and the rescue team, and training Cassie's dog, he's busy.
Then we have Cassie who's been waiting for him and wanting more. When Tank's ex comes into town

This series is a low 3 star for me. This one is about Cassie, Reeds sister from the first book. She owns the adventure company and has had a flirtatious relationship with Tank, the bar owner. It’s never really progressed because he has a young child and he’s a single dad. The baby mama (Montana) comes back and starts working with Cassie. Again, this book has way too much explicit sex for me and it really pulled me out of the story. I won’t be continuing with the series.

I enjoyed this story.
It was good to see the development and growth of two of the previous characters.
It was also nice to catch up with the other characters and the town from book 1.

Not my cup of tea

I constantly struggle with "friends to lovers" plots, because I almost never find them believable. The romantic conflict, always and forever, remains the same, "Romance has a high likelihood of failure, but friendship is forever, so I'm not going to dare to try for romance with my best friend, because I could not bear to lose him/her if it did not work out." This motivation absolutely contradicts several key, reality-based facts: (1) For generations now, the romantic ideal, in t

Under an Alaskan Sky by Jennifer Snow is a wonderful addition to the Wild River series. While it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend readers begin with An Alaskan Christmas (Wild River, #1) because it does a great job of setting up Cassie and Tank's romance. It's also an amazing novel, so go read it!

3.5 stars - Tank is a single dad, fully devoted to his ten year old daughter. He's devoted to the point where he has completely closed off his heart & won't date anyone, because of what it might do. His best friend, Cassie, has been really getting to him lately. They've been flirting for five years, but Tank just can't find it in him to open himself up, even if he knows that he wants more. I was a big fan of the first book in Jennifer Snow's Wild River series,  An Alaskan Christmas. But once I saw the couple who'd be starring in Under an Alaskan Sky, I had a feeling I was in for a treat. I can confidently say that that is the case, having now read the book.

In book one, we get a glimpse at Cassie and Tank, and their friendship. It's really just a tease at a much bigger story. That's what this book is. It's the story of how Cassie and Tank, best friends in a complicated situation, g

Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin and Jennifer Snow for lending me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
After Tank Wheeler’s ex left him and their daughter, making him a single dad overnight, Tank Wheeler swore he wouldn’t love another woman other than this daughter ever again. This promise is shattered when the chemistry between Tank and his best friend Cassie Reynolds can’t be ignored. Add a hot birthday kiss into the miss and friendship suddenly seems like not enough.

One in the Wild River series set in Alaska, in which Cassie Reynolds is getting tired of waiting waiting waiting for commitment-phobe Tank Wheeler to get over his fears and make what they have more than just friends. After all, she's been there for him and his 10-year-old daughter for years. When is he going to make clear that he's there for her, too?

And then, seconds after he gives her a kiss with a promise of what she's been waiting for, Cassie is confronted by Tank's ex- and his daughter's mo

"Under an Alaskan Sky (Wild River #2)" is the second book in a four book series by Jennifer Snow. This is Tank Wheeler and Cassie Reynolds story. They are best friends, and he relies on her to step up and take care of his daughter whenever needed. They go back and forth about deeper feelings for each other and we see them bring their friendship into a more steamy level. Especially since his crush, and the Mother of his daughter, Kaia, comes back to town. There is quite a bit to their story, and ...more

I adore Alaska and have been sucked into reading ALL the Alaskan romance novels. Both the cover and the synopsis appealed to me even though I am sometimes shy of reading new authors.

Overall, this book was a nice read. It was a tad slow at times, the characters a bit frustrating but there were enough bright spots to make it enjoyable.

If you’re into single dads, you’ll enjoy this. Tank is a real sweetheart even if he is a commitment phobe.

Cassie is a lot of fun and is a very loyal and dedicated

Heading back to Wild River in the follow up to An Alaskan Christmas. I was very intrigued by Tank and Cassie when I first read An Alaskan Christmas and I am so happy to see their HEA!

This is a pretty slow burn and friends to lovers! These two have been in a state of will they/won't they for 5(!!!) years! Finally, their attraction comes to a head when Tank gives in. BUT in walks Tanks past. Yikes.
