Modified re-release of early 19th century research by author. A little cumbersome at the history related is informative and of course fascinating. This reader I was not aware of some of this history and how it ties to India of today.

Wide ranging but way out of date history of India. Good for a review of what was known about the History of India before WWI and as an introduction to what is known today.

March 30, 2013It is a good one, but at some places can go against your views of Indian History - esp. the Aryan Migration Theory, which I believe is a bunkum... nevertheless, a good book!
