The Godkiller will rise.
Despite his recent victories, Nate Temples problems are only just beginning. Although it had been necessary, killing the most infamous of the Norse gods has consequences, and no one knows petty vengeance like the Aesir. Especially with Odins legendary spear mysteriously missing.
But Nate has more important things to worry about than a pantheon of...more

However, this book doesn't do that. For the first time since I started reading Mr. Silvers's books, I was lost and confused throughout the book. The storyline kept shifting from one crisis to another, with very little seeming to be solved, or, if solved, solved quickly and with very little satisfaction.
I'm not quite sure what happened with this ...more
Not sure how I feel about this book. The writing is interesting, but they are still not really going anywhere. Its almost like tires spinning over and over in the mud and not going anywhere. Dont think I cared for Nate too much in some of this book.
I only read this series because of the Feathers and Fire series. Thats the main one for me. Dont mess with Callie. Have to force myself to read the series with Quinn. Only skim through it in case anything helps the series move forward. I do ...more
Ascension has just risen to the top spot of my all-time favorite books! I found myself grinning and busting out laughing on countless occasions, earning more than my fair share of side-eye glances, and also choking back sobs as some scenes hit so close to home it felt like Shayne had held a mirror to my soul. I don't know how he does it, be it wizardry or voodoo, but the Master Wordsmith just keeps plucking my heartstrings as each book speaks to me more and more than the one ...more
Not sure I like where things are going with Callie, really need to get your ducks in a row there Nate! I really hope it doesn't go tits up like the previous Psycho.
I did get some full belly laughs from this book, I would ...more
This series is starting to feel a lot like Michael Anderle's Kutherian Gambit series where it drags on far longer than is needed and as a result the story drags on and on when it could have come to a satisfying end much earlier in the series.
Misdirection left and right, with a god of mischief around every possible corner you have to play fast and loose, and Silvers shows just how fast things can spiral out of hand in Nate Temple's particularly unlucky 13th installment. With a particularly heavy hitter finally decimated in the previous one, Nate by all rights should have caught a break but instead new threats rise and old ones come crawling out of the shadows all to result in a ...more
The biggest secret revealed in this book is Loki. He is a trickster who can be anyone he wants but you need to able figure out he is not the real person but an impersonation. Yes there is a lot going on and Nate is trying to outrun the assassins because of the billion dollars price on his head.
Now things are very interesting because the Temple mausoleum holds secrets and an old friend will return because of it. So much is going on in this book. New love is revealed and ...more
I must confess to a slight sense of deja vu when reading Ascension, Book 13 in Shane Silvers' Nate Temple series, as it shares many similar concepts with E.A.Copen's Lazarus codex series' latest novel, with MC Lazarus Kerrigan, but that 's not to detract from either author, as they're both great writers whose books, like Ascension and Night Terror are well worth delving into if you, like me, adore delicious-but-terrifying tales of the supernatural and ...more
SO HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The Templeverse, begun with this series, is absolutely my favorite world out of everything I have discovered with kindle unlimited. I am on track to read about 250 books this year, as I am soda and love reading. Without unlimited, I would be severely limited financially regarding how much I read. Anyway, the point is, I have read A LOT in the last five years, and Shayne Silvers series absolutely blows away everything else. This series ...more
Shayne`s writing is a thing of beauty I don't know what goes on in that crazy head of his but, damn he comes up with some awesome shit! Nate Temple quickly became my favorite series. Shayne Silvers never fails to entertain, like when you go to a movie and everyone claps at the end. This book takes it to a new level. Nate has some secret plans even though history has shown it's a bad idea to keep secrets. I love that Alucard is in the entire book, he has been in the background to long. Nate ...more
Full disclosure, I love Shayne Silvers' books. His characters are multi-faceted, his writing is full of Easter eggs, and he's pretty hysterical with pop culture references.
Nate Temple is almost an anti-hero. He's caught up in this cosmic game of 4D chess, and his strategies sometimes make him seem like a grade A jerk. Other times he seems like a complete incompetent.
This episode was full of jerkish behavior, veiled references to things of immense cosmic significance, and a real lack ...more
Shayne Silvers has finally done it. Hes ascended to the top to become my favorite author of all time. Nate Temple is back after a doughnut break, Sparkula is apparently a eunuch, and CarSQUIRREL!!
You know a story is fantastic when you actually lose track of how close you are to the end. I reached the final page and just stared at my Kindle for nearly five minutes in dumbfounded shock. How could it end?! When is the next one?! How many years of additional lifespan does Silvers get for ...more
For most of the book, Nate is dealing with the Norse gods, trying to find Fenrir, the wolf who will start ...more
Well this was an interesting, laughable, upsetting and unnerving story. Nate is in all sorts of trouble with Odin, Zeus, the FBI, the Academy, Callie and the Gods only know who else. He has a price on his head and multiple nasties are trying to collect. Loki and his kid are a main part of the story, with lots of crazy magic flying around! War, Gunner and the twins are involved through out the story too. A real cliff hanger at the end, to be sure. Another ...more
Houdini has got nothing on Nate Temple! In this epically wild ride, Nate has so many misdirections up in the air, he may just forget which lies he told to who. What he will find out very quickly, however, is that his Horsemen dont take kindly to secrets and lies and that he may be irreparably harming some of those relationships, all while trying to do his best to keep everyone and the world itself safe from Ragnarok. This one is filled with wolves chasing squirrels, ...more
I was disappointed when the book ended. I really enjoyed reading it and it ends on a really torturous yet fun cliffhanger. I'm worried about the direction it's taking with respect to Callie and nate's romance. There's been so much buildup and I really want to see them get together. I dont really know this Kara girl very well and she was a lot cooler before she got all girly and vulnerable--- and before I found out she was a rookie Valkyrie. I saw them as timeless. ...more
Assassins? Check. Wayward magical werewolf puppies? Check. Hot chicks who can kick butt? Definitely check. Saving long lost friends. Heck yes!
Nate has his hand full this time and still makes time to confuse everyone and especially his enemies to stay ahead of them. Did I mention this is all while trying to prevent Ragnarok? Can someone say overachiever? Maybe we should make that psychotic overachiever.
But does he have what it takes to juggle all of this and still win? Nate may ...more
He created a <#$%^&*> supernatural heist movie! And it is an absolute riot.
You get the signature roller coaster, with all of its highs and lows, as Nate & crew have further dealings with Asgard, fallout from ...more
Another masterful installment in the Templeverse. Shayne, once again, gives us a fast-paced novel of suspense, gods, demi-gods, horsemen of the apocalypse and one really big wolf. You will be hooked from start to finish and so very ready for the next book. This book is a little different though, Nate is up to a lot of somthings, and its going to be a while before they all play out. Read the series, read this book, you wont be disappointed.
Now, let's talk about this specimen of a man named Shayne...
