Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. This third volume following a female Samurai sees Keiko through yet another evolution in character. What does a noble female do in ancient Japan when the rest of her family has perished? Trained for little other than marriage most of her life, how does she care for herself?

Keiko had been posing as a highly valued courtesan while she took vengeance on all she blamed for the deaths of her father and brother. She had envisioned a life with her lover, the ninja Yo, when she completed her quest for j

This is about the author more than the book.
I enjoyed books 1 and 2 and was looking forward to reading book 3. I downloaded all of them from Booksprout as arcs. When I discovered that book 3 was missing the correct book download I contacted the author through Booksprout. Not once did I get a response from the author. I repeatedly try to download up to and including this morning 11/12/19 and as yet the author has not corrected the download and now she wants a review posted to Amazon. So here is t

It was disappointing

I enjoyed the first two books of this series. The characters were well fleshed out, especially if you are familiar with Japanese customs.

Sadly, this book was such a disappoint. There was no "closer" on any fronts. That said, it could have been 100 pages shorter.

Books 1 & 2 were very good, book 3 not a much. Keiko is now a courtesan but is still set on her path of revenge. But her plans were all foiled, when her younger sister is kidnapped and she is now determined to rescue her. Even if it meant asking for help from the most feared yakuza in Edo.

Still 4 stars
