The Outcast

RUNNING FROM THE PAST ISN’T ALWAYS BEST

Ross moves away from the grim belly of London, unable to stomach being an undercover copper any longer. At a remote horse farm in Scotland, he reckons the new surroundings and different lifestyle should help him heal—and forget his brutal past. But he’s jumping from the frying pan into the fire…

When Ross meets the other farm workers, tension is rife. The air prickles with animosity. Most have a past they’re trying to bury, skeletons they wish would turn to dust. With deaths covered up, Ross has three choices—let these people continue the lawless life they’ve previously led, inform his ex-colleagues as to what’s going on, or walk the hell away and don’t look back.

This was a short read but it was packed with a lot of detail and had such great characters.
The story seems a bit odd at times but it is a very entertaining read. When going through it I found that the characters resonated with me well.
I also loved the fact that there was so much about family ties and what binds them together or tears them apart.
I have only recently found this authors work and I really enjoy seeing where the warped mind with take us. This is right up my alley and is very warped which makes me really love the book
