M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. She often procrastinates by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open; she is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition.
Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has multiple projects under way, in the hopes that her portfolio of what have been described as “everyday love stories for everyday people” will continue to grow. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.
Her main reason for writing is to not only give her readers enjoyment, but also to create a story and characters that stay with readers long after the book is finished, and possibly make someone stop and think “what if . . . ”
First, I can honestly say this is definitely good value for money and for a good cause as well.
This is definitely one I would recommend people to check out if you like something different, the different stories allow you to lose yourself in many different worlds.
The Trifecta by M.B. Feeney – I love that the first story in the anthology was from MB Feeney, she’s one of my favourite authors. As usual, I was not disappointed. I loved every part of this story that allowed us to share in the special friendship between the trio. This journey begins with them enjoying their last summer together for a little while before they all go off in different directions. The part I loved the most was the bond between the three of them right from the start and how protective Justin and Mikey were of Ella; there is nothing they wouldn’t do to protect her and keep her safe. I’m looking forward to reading the next instalment in this trifecta series.
The end of Promise and Paine by Sam Destiny – I really liked this story. I do love reading music romances; maybe it’s because of my love of music but I can totally immerse myself in them. The author did warn me at the beginning that this story didn’t have a typical happy ending, but I was not prepared for that ending. I didn’t like it and am looking forward to finding out what happens next for Promise and Paine.
The Life and Death of a Rockstar by M.A Foster – This was a short, sweet and very emotional story. It’s an interview that gives you an insight into Rock Legend, Marcus King – front man of Royal Mayhem. It tells his life story in as much detail as you needed for a short story. It was a good read and I think I may have to look into the Heritage Bay Series to find out more about Marcus, Emerson and Jaybird because that little story was not enough for me.
Creed by Amy Davies; Rebel Hype Part 1 – I did enjoy this one, however, I felt that the plot relied a little too much on sex through the whole story.
Club Rife by C.H. Thomas – I really enjoyed this book. I spent some time in Tenerife when I was younger, and I can really picture the scenes. Having spent periods with people that work in the club scene, it was easy to imagine the characters and what the clubs were like, making me completely relate to the goings on. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but this is definitely a book I can recommend. It tells of lust, fun in the sunshine and holiday romances; it’s worth the read.
Wrath by Lacey Heart – Well, this was a very short story, only giving you the prologue. But it was enough of a teaser to make you want to read what’s next, when the full-length story is released.
Crashing Star by Xana Jordan – Oh my, I did not like how this ended. There was nothing wrong with the story itself, it just ended before I could really get into it, leaving me wanting more which, I guess is the point. I’m looking forward to the book being finished and released so I can find out what happens to Kolton. I am hoping he makes it out of rehab, manages to find Sarah and carries on with his career. I guess only time will tell.
The Alpha’s Star by Aimie Jennison – Shifter stories aren’t really my thing or so I thought but I really enjoyed this story. It might be something I look into a bit further so I can see how Ava gets on with her singing career and what happens between her and Silas.
Opera of the Beast by Lilly Rayman – This was another short shifter story giving you a taster of what’s to come. It was enough to intrigue me into wanting to know if Dante and Raul are brothers like I think they are; separated at birth and how the connection between them both and Harmony would play out.
The Night I Fell For A Popstar by Mandy Bee – I really liked this story. It was light-hearted and simple; a boy meets girl romance. It was nice that you were able to see the normal side of Xander and not the pop star side because so many stories focus on the fame side of things. It was a nice little whirlwind romance that gave you everything you needed to know.
Wager by T.a. McKay – This story left me a bit confused with who was who until towards the end and that took away from the story for me. It was ok, not normally my sort of thing, but I did enjoy it.
A Little Unsteady by Saffron Blu – Wow, this story started with a bang and tells of a bond of friendship so strong that I don’t think anything can break. The deep kind of friendship, where the urge to protect is at the forefront of everything. This is another author I’ve added to my reading list so I can find out what happens next for Darius and Kamil.
Somebody Else’s Song by Avery Hart – I liked this one; it was a story of strength and determination to follow your dreams. To put yourself out there and never give up. I have added this author to my list so I can find out how Everly Rae gets on and whether she achieves her dream or not.
Kill-A-Queen by Bea Stevens – I loved this story right from the start, it had me so hooked that I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I read the whole thing in one go, finding it exciting and nerve racking at the same time. I even convinced myself that the housekeeper was involved in it towards the end. It was 1:15am when I finally finished the story, that’s how much I enjoyed it.
Marching Offsides by AM Williams – I loved this one – it had your typical nerds, jocks and mean girls that you find in most schools and universities. It was a story of opposites attract and standing up for yourself; as well as standing out and being different from the crowds around you. I could picture the campus, football fields, restaurants and all of the characters, which I find means it’s a good story. It had me engrossed enough to want to picture the surroundings and settings to get a better feeling of the book. I’m glad they stood their ground and didn’t let the bullies win. I will be looking at other books from this author as well.
Strip Down by Ava Manello – This was a sweet humorous short story, with old friendships being rekindled and new friendships forged. It detailed everything you needed to picture the surroundings and characters, enabling you to picture exactly what is going on in each of the chapters.
Park Life by Lucy Felthouse – This was a nice short story about taking chances before it’s too late. I felt really sorry for Dee, that her first encounter with Athena ended the way it did. I’m sure there’s more to their story to be read and I hope things work out for them both.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would like to thank M.B. Feeney for suggesting it to me, I now have a lot more authors on my radar to check out.
The Trifecta - M. B. Feeney This is mine, so of course I love it.
The End of Promise and Pain - Sam Destiny. A sweet snapshot into the relationship of Maya and Aiden, a snapshot that soon turns to heartbreak. Very sweet, very emotional, very compelling. That last line is an absolute killer!
The Life and Death of a Rock Star - M. A. Foster Absolutely stunning, and written in a way I’ve never seen before. I can imagine teenage me devouring and sobbing over this interview.
Creed - Amy Davies Amy sure can write sex. Hot sex, sex that is dripping with heat and passion. Sadly, I wanted more from this short, but I will definitely be reading Cross: Part 2 to get more of the connection between Cross and Taylen beyond the sexual connection.
Club Rife- C. H. Thomas I really like the banter between Logan and Danny. It really comes across how close they are as friends. Adding Lou and Jenna into the mix and Thomas has a winner on her hands.
Wrath - Lacey Heart The prologue of a book to come. And what a prologue. My heart breaks for Sophia and Preston’s heart is already hardened. I’m looking forward to reading this in June.
Crashing Star - Xana Jordan I need more!!! Like now! I loved the interaction between Kolton and Sarah, but more than anything, Kolton’s thought process about being in rehab. I can’t wait to read the full length book!
The Aloha’s Star - Aimie Jennison I’m not usually a fan of shifter books, but I was sucked into this and honestly can’t wait for more! I loved Dante and Silas’ interaction, then adding in Ava - I’m prepared for all the feels
Opera of the Beast - Lilly Rayman I loved the idea behind the story, but there wasn’t enough included in the anthology to really hook me into the story. I’ll keep my eye out for the full release.
The Night I Fell For a Popstar - Mandy Bee A sweet short story that I did enjoy, but felt it was lacking a bit of depth. Would work much better as a full length novel that gives the reader more of Nia and Xander’s relationship.
Wager - TA McKay You can’t beat a good misunderstanding that leads to lots of feelings, and this story is chock full. I also need to know more about Bray and Eli!
A Little Unsteady - Saffron Blu A subject not easily dealt with, but this short does it fantastically. I can’t wait to find out what happens with Darius and Kamil.
Somebody Else’s Song - Avery Hart I enjoyed this short, even if I was confused about Canden’s complete 180. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the full length once it’s released
Kill-A-Queen - Bea Stevens I loved this story and it kept me turning the page to find out what happened next. I would like to read more about Tom and Max and their new relationship
Marching Offside - AM Williams I really liked this short. It had everything, a cute main couple, great antagonists, and a hint of steam. Everything you want from a romance book. However, the epilogue felt a little rushed. I would have liked to see the bullies get what was coming to them rather than being told after the fact. But I still loved the story.
Strip Down - Ava Manello Now I need to read the two series which are brought together in this fantastic short story. I laughed and smiled so much throughout it, that I need more, now.
Park Life - Lucy Felthouse A very cute F/F story that I would love to see extended somewhat so we can see more of Dee and Athena and their budding relationship.
Overall, this collection of stories is fantastic. A fee minor typos in some stories did nothing to distract from the enjoyment I got from reading them all. I’m proud of all the authors involved, and honoured to have been included.
This was the perfect story to read on a sunny day whilst sat in the garden. It carried me away and kept me hooked throughout. I was left wanting more and can't wait for the continuation in the full length version that the author plans to release at a later date.
Xana Jordan has clearly done her research on addiction and rehab, but I wouldn't expect anything different from her as she always puts her heart and soul into every story she writes. I love how she shows Kolton's struggles, but writes it in a way so that it's not heavy and allows the reader to also enjoy his budding relationship with Sarah. I feel like this story isn't just about Kolton's journey as we also get to learn about Sarah's and how she landed in rehab. I really hope we get to see her continuing to follow her own path of recovery when the full length version is released
This is my review of M.A. Foster's Contribution to this music anthology. This is a riveting interview with Marcus King, Rock star, family man, and caring human being. We learned about Marcus and his family, and I loved every minute of this story. If you haven't read Jaybird, or any other of M.A. Foster's books, you absolutely must! M.A. Foster writes captivating, moving stories from her heart, and I highly recommend everyone should read the Heritage Bay Series!
Just finished reading The Interview with Marcus King Rock Star and husband of Emerson and Father to Jaybird,Absolutely loved this interview so glad that M.A Foster wrote this, I have read all her books in the series that pertain to this interview . Check out the Hertiage Bay Series where you can find out more about who Marcus King was . I have to be honesty I did shed a tear or two while reading this ,but I still loved this interview. Thanks M.A Foster for writing such beautiful stories ❤️
I really enjoyed reading The Life and Death of a Rock Star by MA Foster. This was an interview with Marcus King of Royal Mayhem. I loved the interview, bringing pieces of Marcus back and giving us inside his life. Another amazing read by MA Foster. Definitely recommend reading this and the Heritage Bay series.
