Very dry reading and not much new here

Most of the habits listed here are common sense i.e., turn off your phone, get some exercise, eat a balanced diet. A little bit of science is dropped in the form of studies that prove his points but it makes the material a little dry. Meditation is mentioned more than once and the author goes a little bit into his Buddhist beliefs which is ok but not really relevant to the topic at hand. It took me longer than usual to finish because I just didn't find it very compelling.

Whenever I come across a situation where I feel myself being stuck in something that I can't figure; I always find some relevant books that can help me to deal with those matters. This was the matter that faced two weeks ago when I observed that there were literally too many things that were crowding in my mind and making it difficult to put my attention into something I needed. I guess it usually happens with all of us; it's just like having multiple tabs open in mind and then keep moving back and forth in those tabs.
.
And as usual, I found books that could help me, where '10-Minute Focus' and 'Unclutter Your Mind' were the ones I picked in the hope to find solutions and it worked! But what is the mental clutter exactly? That isn't a complex thing— Mental clutter is something when we have lots of things on our mind (things that we plan to do, want to do, suppose to do) but because of some reason we fail to work on them and they keep getting stored in our mind until we start freaking out, wondering about reasons that make feel terrible for no reason, but we never get to the answer. The funny part is that all that mental clutter is the only reason that makes us feel restless.
.
'Unclutter Your Mind' is not just a book focusing on ways that you can unclutter your mind but it's more than that. It's an ultimate self-care guide that doesn't go very theoretically but is designed in a way so its readers can make it as usual as they can. You can open any chapter or any page and you will still don't miss out anything but find tips that can be helpful.
.
With this book, I managed to deal with that clutter and I am thankful to Donna Smallin for helping me out with it. It's a small and quick read, so in case if you think you might be struggling with that mental clutter then must read this book.

Whether I was at school or work, there have been times in my life when I've had difficulty with focusing on the task at hand. Figuring out different ways to procrastinate became my favorite hobby. As a result, I struggled in different areas of my life. This book provides strategies and methods for tackling procrastination head-on. By incorporating some of these tips into my life, I've noticed significant improvement in the quality of my work.

This book offers a variety of methods you can use to become more organized and disciplined with how you approach your life. The author gives advice regarding how to eliminate distractions, developing a consistent bedtime routine, scheduling important events throughout the day, and remaining hyper-focused for designated periods of time, as well as other valuable recommendations.

The content is broken down in a way that is easy to reference. I've tried different methods to determine which ones best suit my personality and lifestyle. To keep from becoming overwhelmed, I initially incorporated two of the tips into my daily routine and there was a noticeable improvement in my productivity. I would recommend this book to anyone who is easily distracted and want to enhance their ability to focus and concentrate.

Concise and clearly articulated

The book is well organized and sufficiently researched for what the book sets out to do. This is a short and to the point book, which I can appreciate.

The book comes with good advise for most people and takes different situations into account. There are plenty of useful hints throughout the book, which are adequately highlighted, so even if you only browse through you’ll find most of the key information. I would have liked a little more background information on some topics, but then again I can research further on my own. As it is some sections will feel lackluster based on the reader’s experience level.

I found multiple ideas in the book, which have significantly improved my ability to focus and perform demanding tasks better. That’s all the reason I really require to recommend this book.

3.5 stars

I enjoyed the book, however, the tips are not new - I've come across the suggestions in various places across the internet and on YouTube. However, I would recommend the book as it is useful having summarised tips in one place in the form of a short book. Although, might need to look elsewhere for more indepth information.

I will never understand the self-help writers' needs to write repetitive lines, and explaining basic things in 100 pages we have no need to read about.
