I loved Jody Hedlund's last YA series. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. But this series? This lost princess trilogy? This series takes the tea. I mean seriously I am in love.

And because I couldn't help myself here is another collage.

Emmaline was my favorite of the sisters. She was relatable in her anxiety attacks and her love of both reading and animals and her feelings of inadequacy. I

Okay so like...reading this, it didn’t necessarily FEEL the way my favorite books normally do. However, since finishing it, I’ve thought about it constantly and have to admit...I think it’s well deserving of five stars.

Let’s start out by talking about MAH BOI: Rex. He’s a muscular, cunning man who also happens to be a prince and the son of the most powerful man on earth. He could be cruel...but instead, he prefers to choose kindness. (Honestly, this dude is basically a copy of my Pentegreens se

I love, love, love this series. I wish that it could go on and never end!

This book measures the content of character. Prince Ethelrex forced Princess Emmaline to marry him. He did this because his father instructed him to. He spent his life doing exactly what he was told. It takes a Princess for him to determine his path and who to trust.

Princess Emmaline is strong and loyal. I loved the reunion between the sisters. This story was all that I could wish for it to be.

Epic. I love how this final book finished the series in such an unexpected way! After reading the heroic adventures of her two sisters, I struggled with Emmeline's personality a bit, the way she gives in and doesn't fight tooth and nail or make the sacrifices others think she should. But over time I grew to appreciate her strengths and attributes that helped finally bring peace to the land. The Prince was another unknown personality to get used to, and it was great to see his perspective and lea ...more
Wow, I loved Hereafter! It’s tied with Foremost as my favorite in The Lost Princesses series!

Enemies to lovers is such a difficult trope to pull off well, but Hereafter did it wonderfully, especially since it was combined with another favorite trope of mine, marriage of convenience (although in this case, it was rather forced on Emmaline’s part, but it’s not only done very tastefully, but she chooses to use it as a way to bring about peace). Despite Ethelrex and Emmaline being natural enemies d

It's the last book in this series. The last princess. I loved this one- for its part of the adventure and for the conclusion. I loved the Prince, his loyalty and his devotion to Emmaline. And Emmaline? She was his equal in every way - well, once she stopped running away. Everything came together in This book and it was so sweet. This is a series you definitely want to read in order. Each book builds off the previous one.

This series goes out with a bang and I couldn't be happier with the conclusion! The third novel delivers more nonstop action yet the levels of romantic attraction are significantly higher due to the nature of this marriage of convenience story! Deliciously swoony, this sweet romance is a slow burn and tastefully done!

Innocence, chivalry, and life lessons are woven throughout the story of Hereafter. Just as in real life, the right choice isn't always easy to di

'God oft gives us more than we deserve. I can do no less for others.'

Jody Hedlund definitely saved the best for last in her Lost Princesses medieval series. The medieval setting is my favorite, I think, and she does it so very well. This time we have Emmeline's story, she who is a twin to Princess Maribel. They both, along with their older sister, Princess Adelaide, were spirited away when the evil King Ethelwulf killed their parents and took control over the kingdom. For 18 years they have been
SUCh a fun book. This is what I call book candy. There is nothing complicated about these books, nothing too deep. My teens won't get lost in language that is too much or descriptions. This is the one I've been waiting for! Not only do we get Emmeline's story, which I wanted ever since reading Always, knowing she ended up with Felicity and Lance, but after reading Adelaide's story, I've wanted Rex's story too, and to get both in the exciting twist? *gimme - gimme!*

Review: I was right! I loved this one! Actually, while I was excited for this one, I ended up caught up in the story and loved the surprise twists that came at just the right places. I'm so glad I was able to read th

I would give this books ALL the stars 🌟!! I have loved every book in this series and I loved every next book more than the last. The third book was my favorite of the series. Not only did the plot line come to its climax, but this novel has a fun, romantic story involving a manly fierce knight with a heart of gold and a beautiful heroine finding her courage. Emmeline and Rex are one of my new favorite fictional couples! As soon as I started the book I was immediately hooked. The romance is relat ...more
Emmeline, raised as the daughter of a charcoal burner deep in the forest, has always known her true identity as a princess--and she has never wanted to embrace it. She's perfectly happy living with her adoptive parents away from civilization, other than the fact that she's constantly afraid they'll be found. When her parents tell her it's time to join her two sisters and claim her true identity as a princess, fighting against the evil King Ethelwulf, she doesn't want to. Before she can figure ou ...more

I love Jody Hedlund’s books - both historical and YA - and this finale to the Lost Princesses series is Jody Hedlund at her finest. Though I expected to see some surprises in the plot, I was not prepared for the intensity of emotion, flurry of non-stop action with danger and rescues aplenty, depth of character development and unexpected plot twists in this beautifully crafted novel. Ahh! The final novel in the Lost Princesses series is finally here. And I am not disappointed. This series is one that I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for cute and adventurous stories.
Emmeline was the character I mostly empathized with. She was hesitant to join in the fight for Mercia, but she finds her own strengths in the process of escaping. Rex was such a great main character. Can I marry him?! Honestly though he just was so sweet and strong. Something I found super interest

What an amazing finish to a wonderful series! I must admit, I am so glad these stories were released close together, because I couldn't wait to read each installment! Such a unique story, powerful characters, and intriguing situations. Makes for a good combination, don't you think!?

Honestly, I think Rex and Emmeline were my favorite couple of the series. It was kind of this marriage on convenience / marriage of force storyline, if such a thing exists. Rex came as a complete surprise to me. Becau

"God made you for more . . . . This was the time for more."

Torn between saving the lives of her parents and fulfilling her destiny, Princess Emmeline faces an impossible challenge. Marriage to King Ethelwulf's son was either an escape route, or a prision sentence; she highly doubted it could ever bring peace.

In spite of the fact that Prince Ethelrex exudes enormous skill as a warrior, Emmeline has to reluctantly admit that he is a surprisingly honorable leader; treating her with a strange mix o

"Hereafter" is a beautiful ending to an exhilarating, romantic, and compelling series. Author Jody Hedlund excels in blending faith with adventure and passion, and this story is no exception. Filled with inspirational characters, lessons in faith and love, and a story that reminds readers of what is important in life, readers won't be able to put this book down. Hereafter by Jody Hedlund is the third and final book in the Lost Princess series. Emmiline is one of the twin daughters of the king and queen of Mercia. With the death of the king and queen in Always, a novella, Lance an Elite guard and Lady Felicia flee with the three Princesses. The Three are separated and Lance and Felicia raise Emmaline in the forest. This is Emmaline's story and it is a tale of love and courage. The story is again full of knights and treasure, princesses and bravery. I fou ...more

What a fantastic finale to the Lost Princess series! I could not put it down, I was so intrigued at seeing how story would play out and how the evil king would finally be defeated. Hereafter is a satisfying conclusion with lots of romance, action and twists and turns. I was completely surprised at a couple of the twists and Jody wove a brilliant tale. I was also surprised at Jody’s match for Emmaline and how that worked in to the story. Well done!

What a great premise! I was so excited to get to this final book in the series and I loved it! The enemy prince finds the last lost princess and marries her right away to keep the people from joining the rebels. The sweet thing is how he fully intends to win her affection and honor his marriage vows to her. I enjoyed this from start to finish.

Oh my! My heart was totally engaged in this fast paced, adventurous and intriguing, sweet and passionate at the same time, wonderful and inspiring, medieval romance! It is finally here! The last book in Jody Hedlund’s amazing series, The Lost Princesses. I was so excited for Hereafter and it does not disappoint. She was brought up knowing who she was, she was raised by the elite guard and the lady’s maid that saved her life and the lives of her sisters.

Emmeline has always known she was one of the lost princesses of Mercia. For the last 18 years, she has been raised by the very people who saved her and her sisters from the blade of King Ethelwulf. But the time has come to leave all she's known and join with her sisters in their attempt to reclaim the throne that rightfully belongs to Queen Adelaide Constance. The thrilling conclusion to The Lost Princesses Series!

After being captured and forced to marry Ethelrex, she is bent on escape, but could God have brought her here for such a time as this?

In Hereafter, Emmeline grew up knowing she was one of the lost princesses of Mercia, but she never wanted to leave her life as an impoverished charcoal burner’s daughter. Her adopted father trains her to be able to escape in the isolated woods, undetected from those searching for her.

She has no desire to join the war against King Ethelwulf or join Queen Adelaide (the rightful heir to Mercia's throne) in her fight against Ethelwulf. The prince wants to show his loyalty to the king by tracking he

The final book in the Lost Princess series is here! With eldest princess Adelaide Constance ready to reclaim her rightful place as queen of Mercia, it is time for youngest princess Emmeline to come out of hiding. Raised in isolation in Inglewood Forest., Emmeline has always known her true identity, but she loves her quiet home and has no interest in stepping into the public eye, especially during a war.

Like the novella, Always, and the other novels, Evermore and Foremost, Emmeline and Rex’s story is full of adventure, danger, and romance. The theme throughout the book is courage. Will Emmeline have the courage to do what it takes to create peace? Will Rex have the courage to follow the honor in his heart? There were so many wonderful lines about courage, and I loved how Emmeline’s faith played such a large part in her finding her own.

Jody Hedlund began this fairytale series with Always, the tale of Lance and Felicia’s rescue of three princesses when their parents are killed as the invading army takes over. Two books later, the reader gets to rejoin the couple, 18 years on as their adoptive daughter, Emmeline, is forced to accept her destiny as a princess.

Continuing from the second book, Foremost, the ruling king’s son, Ethelrex, is set the task by his father to find and marry Emmeline before her sisters’ army invades to reta
