Penelope Sky's last couple of series have departed from her previous ones (Scotch, Buttons, Lingerie) and this one does it again - he falls for her and she only wants a physical relationship. Hades is pretty standard Penelope Sky antihero (gorgeous, well built, ruthless, murderer, criminal, but not heartless) but Sofia is not the compassionate tender-heart that the previous heroines have been. Sofia has hardened her heart and set her path and wants no deviations. Sofia and Hades are like oil and vinegar - they don't mix well but are great with each other. Lots of physical contact, as they two cannot keep their hands off of each other. A fascinating story that brings a touch of mysticism (the prophesy), a heavy dose of horizontal mambo, a dash of terror, a big heaping of heartbreak, and a shattered view of the world. These characters grabbed my attention and I cannot wait to see where this series heads.
I want to thank Penelope Sky for offering me a chance at a review copy of this book. I really do love her storytelling (I will admit that I do skip over the steamy scenes to get back to the story quicker). The Lingerie series (especially Griffin and Bosco's segments) is my favorite, so far, but Hades is fighting his way up. Looking forward to what is going to happen next.
