Forever Only Once is a powerful story of friendship, strength, recovery, hope, and love. And I loved every minute spent with Hazel and her amazing group of friends. Four women who’ve overcome so much and are ready—at least to try—to find love again.

Hazel is the first victim, er... winner in the pact to start looking for love again. And lucky for her, and a blind date gone wrong, she finds herself enjoying the company of Cross Brady.

Hazel never thought she’d feel this way again about a man and a

I loved how Cross and Hazel met, a chance meeting that they both decided to take advantage of. Them taking things slow was a good thing too, it allowed each to really think if they wanted to spend time with the other. Of course Hazel had her own reasons for going slow, which broke my heart. I liked that Cross realized that Hazel was skittish and always asked before doing anything, from kissing her, to asking to come inside her house. Things were really going good for the two of them, so you when ...more

She has some demons in her past that makes her put a social life outside of her group of friends. Someone who knows me will know that I am a fan of Carrie Ann Ryan. Most of her books we hits for me and she's one of the few authors who don't disappoint (usually). Unfortunately, I ended up not liking this book as much as her other works. The tone of this series feels completely different from what I have read before and it didn't click for me.

One of the most frustrating things was teasing for the other books in the series. I got the impression that Hazel's friends will be paired up w

Carrie Ann hits this new series out of the ballpark and into the next state!!

I couldn't stop listening and or reading this book until I finished it. The entire premise of the series intrigued me, and I cannot wait to see how the rest of the series goes.

It is so nice to see some old favorites too, like Liam and Arden. I love those two.

Back to the couple. Cross and that beard. I'm a sucker for a beard and add in a growly man and I'm all over it. Jason Clarke is perfect for the narrating the Bra

Forever Only Once is Book 1 in the new Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan. I love how the author spins off her famous Montgomery Ink series with lots of intertwined characters but yet all of her stories stand perfectly fine of their own. This story was filled with everything a person could ask for including drama, suspense, angst, romance, and lots of heat. Hazel and Cross were amazing characters and I enjoyed the twists and turns the author threw at us. Another amazing story by Carrie Ann Rya ...more

There’s nothing better than the first book in a new series where I not only get to meet new characters but get to see some of my favorites from previous series and that’s exactly what Ms. Ryan has given us in this first book of her Promise Me series.

We get a great introduction to all the characters that this series will be about and we get a fantastic second chance story that’s full of suspense, angst, friendship, a dirty talker and feelings that are very

This is the first in a spin off series about the Brady brothers. You are fine to pick this up as a stand alone. Fans of the author's Montgomery series will see some familiar faces in this book.

Although the series is about a group of brothers at the outset, it really is about a group of women who decide to take control of their lonely lives and take a chance at love. The group makes a pact to set each other up so they can be happy.

Cross is the perfect launch for this series. And the cover---yea

This book was so freaking good! I picked this one up because I started an ARC of the second book and I really wanted to find out Hazel and Cross's story first and the story was really good. Hazel was running from her ex-husband who was just an evil person and made a new life for herself while he was in jail. But he is out now and she is trying not to let that control her because she wants to see where a relationship with Cross can come in. Cross needs to get out of his business with his former b ...more

Forever Only once was a really good story , I thought just everything about it just drew me into what was going on and just wanting the characters to have a happy ending . My heart really broke during the story so many times and just the feelings coming off every page just made me love everything .I've read a few books by Carrie Ann Ryan and I can't wait to read more by her in the future and more of the Promise series .

Hazel and Cross meet by accident❣️ What starts out as an accident soon turns into something more but both have a lot going on in their lives - Cross is dealing with something at work and Hazel has some secrets in her past which might just come to bite her in the rear😢

A great story, some funny moments and some filled with suspense but overall a wonderful start to this new series and I’m kicking myself I didn’t start reading it earlier😱

I really liked Forever Only Once. It was emotional without being overwhelming. Cross and Hazel (mostly Hazel) had their personal issues to work out while figuring out a relationship, which made for a fun yet emotionally charged story.

Forever Only Once is the remarkable tale of a woman coming into her own after surviving an abusive relationship. Hazel has been through hell and is starting over. The meet cute between Hazel and Cross set the pace for the rest of the story. These two are so sweet together I needed to brush my teeth. A fantastic start to a new series.

I love the concept of this series. Four friends who have not had the best of pasts, make a pact to give each other the push they need to jumpstart something just possibly amazing in their lives.

Hazel is a Survivor. A sweet and caring woman who has lived through some of the worst possible horrors. She lives very cautiously and is constantly looking over her shoulder. Hazel is a brave woman who has taken the correct steps to overcome the hurt of the past. Although it is never far from her

A wonderful, sweet love story, or so it seems at first, but then unexpected danger threatens the lives of both Hazel and Cross and the tension levels in this romance go up immensely. But first there’s the falling in love bit… I loved the meet-cute in this story and how everything falls into place so naturally between Hazel and Cross. And I adore Cross! It’s so refreshing to have a hero that is not a stereotypical, testosterone-fueled alpha male, but instead is incredibly considerate, loyal and k ...more

This is going to be a great series with four amazing, strong, and resilient women. This new series starts with Hazel Noble drawing the short straw and who knew what a wild ride her dipping her toes back into the dating world again would be. I loved the women themselves who are definitely a close-knit group but there for each other no matter what. The dating pact was a fun idea but with it came stress to take a chance again. Carrie Ann Ryan hooked me in with the premise to this exciting new series of standalones- each book starting with a blind date and ending with a murder. SIGN ME UP. The center here are four friends making a pact to start dating to find their future partner- drawing straws to decide who they focus on first. Each book is focused on a different girl, and Forever Only Once is the story of Hazel.

orever Only Once begins with Hazel Noble on her way to meet up with her three dearest friends. Once there, they discuss the “pact” they’ve made: the group will find each other the perfect date, one at a time. Hazel draws the short straw and is the first to be set up on a blind date. Though she agreed to the pact, she doesn’t want to go first….if at all.

Cross Brady loves what he does. He and his business partner have been partners for years, but something is off. When his partner comes in and ask

This book had potential but it felt like my guesses at any twists that were coming were better than what actually happened.
I'm honestly racking my brains for any personality traits that either of the main characters have and nothing comes to mind. I wasn't a massive fan of either of them, even though their romance was sweet.
So let's get to my expectations. The blurb mentions that they were fighting their connection to each other, I wouldn't really say that was true. Hazel had a few nervous momen
