3,5 - Romance readers, you will like Rock House Grill! That is if you aren't looking for steamy scenes and rush "hit first, ask later" moments!

You, who are more like me, not a contemporary romance reader, could have a nice surprise and enjoy Mrs. D.V. Stone's book as well.

Why? First of all, I get the feeling that she knows what she talks about. The EMT / hospital scenes, not large but with high impact flow... naturally. Reading the author's description confirmed my suspicions. The efficiency tha

What I love most about this book is how real it feels. The scenes in the restaurant, whether they’re in the kitchen or at the front of house, feel authentic. The EMT/ambulance scenes feel like the author has lived them. And most especially the characters’ emotions feel real. I could feel Aden’s frustration and gratitude at surviving his accident, but being unable to do the things he did before. Shay’s nervousness at starting a new job at the restaurant was very real, and so was her coolness unde ...more

This book is a delightful, savory, hopeful, fun, romantic, and warmhearted read!!

This book starts off in one of those totally embarrassing, please say that did not just happen moments where I totally couldn’t help but feel for Shay! EMT’s Shay and Joanna get a call and show up at a domestic disturbance scene. Shockingly this is where Shay finds out her husband Nick is there in a romantic setting with his mistress, Brenda! So embarrassing! Not only to find out your husband is cheat

I requested this book hoping for a book boyfriend that I could enjoy during my camping trip. I wasn’t disappointed. Best camping trip ever thanks to Aden, the hero.

Aden spread himself too thin and paid a horrible price and suffered the consequences. I know all too well what it’s like to be stretched too thin. It was a nice reminder to relax during my camping trip. Aden was the perfect example of what to do when you get knocked down. You pick yourself up and move forward.

The heroine, Shea, was an

Rock House Grill is a totally entertaining read. The charismatic characters jump right off the pages. Each one’s woven circumstances into the main story, will have you turning pages to discover what effects each has on the other and the outcome of the tale. A tragic beginning has a fortuitous intervention. This is a heartwarming story of hope, perseverance, second chances, and a belief that everything happens for a reason. I love the never-give-up theme entwined throughout this book regardless o ...more

D.V. Stone’s swift pace and masterful characterizations make Rock House Grill ROCK.

Love how Shay meets Aden, not once, but twice, and how well the juxtapositions play off each other to make the encounters memorable. Add drama from exes, and you have a searing plot.

A whodunit until the very end, with not one, but several romances building to a crescendo, I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced page-turner. I emphatically recommend it—no holds barred!

When Shay, an EMT, is called to a “domestic disturbance”, the last thing she expects to find is her husband and another woman. Her friends try to shield her, but she’s seen—and heard—too much. Months later, after the divorce, she’s working at a restaurant and the “other woman” manipulates things to get her fired. Down on her luck and her life, she takes one more chance…and finds hope and happiness at a new restaurant. This is a sweet, uplifting story about life, love, loss, and more. The charact ...more

I really enjoyed this romantic suspense. The author portrayed a vivid description of the glamorous world of the high-end restaurant business. The characters were believable, and I rooted for Shay, the heroine, to overcome the many obstacles in her quest to find true love with Aden, the physically and emotionally damaged hero. With someone out to harm Shay and her new friends, the tension ramped up, and I couldn’t put the book down. The story kept me reading long into the night. If you’re looking ...more

You're drawn into the challenges they faced and the mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end. She gives you insight into the bravery and caring of first responders. Looking forward to other books in this series.

This story pulled me in from the first page. The descriptions are so vivid, it was like a movie playing in my head and I absolutely LOVE those stories. The developing relationship between Shay and Aden was sweet but there are other couples too, so there’s more than one romance that will make you smile. Aden and Shay are both likeable characters and I just wanted them to get together already. Their histories left them with angst and insecuritie

The exciting worlds of emergency medicine and the restaurant business provide a rich backdrop for DV Stone's quick-paced, heart-stopping, and super-satisfying story. The book follows a really interesting cast of fun and diverse characters as they work through complicated pasts to find love and career fulfillment. The musical references are a hoot; the mystery keeps you guessing; and the food descriptions will have your mouth watering until the delivery guy arrives. Terrific blend of steamy but s ...more

A good solid story, well crafted, with interesting and engaging characters. Initially the cover put me off - it's kinda in-ya-face. But it's a good example of not judging a book by its cover. The House twins--Aden and Olivia--may not have blood relatives around but they embrace employees and friends as if they are family. Aden is spread far too thin between running one restaurant and launching another and being a hot celebrity chef who has made a questionable relationship choice. He survives an accident with the help of an EMT he calls his angel.
Shay McDowell is trying hard to get back on her feet after a divorce from a husband she couldn't trust and harassment from the new woman in

Savor a satisfying slice of life
If you love a multi-layered story that pulls you into its world like I do, choose The Rock House Grill. The Rock House Grill (its name derives from the fabulous menu of rock songs played there) is the center of the Shay and Aden’s story.
Aden House is a talented chef who has loses direction when he becomes the hot shot chef of a TV cooking show. As a devotee of those shows and their fast paced competitions, it’s easy to see how Aden could be sucked into that world

Adam House is a very successful chef who is burning the candle at both ends. Shay McDowell is rebuilding her life after a divorce. She volunteers as an EMT and has dreams of becoming a chef. Fate brings Adam and Shay together when Adam has a horrible car accident and Shay is one of the EMT's at the scene. All Adam can remember is that an angel rescued him. This is a very well written book. We follow Adam and Shay through turmoil and loads of drama. I was pulling for these two battered souls to f ...more

This was my first book by author DV Stone. I enjoyed the characters and the unpredictable plot twists. I won't give away the plot, but I will say the author's emergency medical knowledge was apparent right away. I loved several things about the book--like the underlying, subtle religious tone of the book. If you like a little God with your reading, this book is for you. :-) The romance was sweet and "behind closed doors" all the way, which was treat for me because I read a lot of (and write) rom ...more

An exciting story. There was plenty of action, suspense, danger, love, family and friends. I loved both Aden and Shay. Each had their baggage but were honest with each other as misunderstandings arose. Their journey to love and commitment was not easy, but they were determined to make it. Their lives had changed and improved because of their love. I recommend this story.

I received an ARC of this story through Goddess Fish Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

Rock House Grill is a romantic suspense mystery. It fits into several categories including “Favorite Prompt from Last Year” (audiobook), “Book with a Found Family,” and “Book with a Protagonist with a Mobility Issue.” Our hero is in a terrible car accident early in the story.

In this novel, Shay McDowell is in a tough spot. Her marriage is over, and her ex’s girlfriend is causing trouble. Poor Shay has lost her job, and all her carefully laid plans for the future are in tatters. But she’s not one
