The men of the Rolling Thunder MC take care of their own, and that includes employees. When Kitty finds herself in a jam, she calls on Squatch for help — not because she thinks he’ll be able to help her more than the other bikers, but because she trusts him the most.
Squatch has always been partial to the little tiger shifter who dances like liquid sex onstage, yet is so bashful when she isn’t working, but the unspoken code is that the brothers don’t date their employees. However, while Squatch helps Kitty with her little problem, the two spend more time together than either anticipated, and sparks fly between the tiger and the wolf.
But Kitty has a history she didn’t share with the bikers when they hired her, and when her past catches up to her, she doesn’t trust even Squatch enough to ask for help. She thinks her only option is to run, but she doesn’t know wolves mate for life, and Squatch’s wolf has claimed her.
Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.
Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.
Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.
Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.
Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

Where to start with Squatch and Kitty? There was so much that happened in this story that caught my attention and held it that I don’t know where to go with the review. The story isn’t complicated but it was extremely interesting. I loved the concept, the family aspect and overcoming your past.
Squatch and Kitty were an unlikely couple but, they found a way to make it work. A tiger stripper with secrets that aren’t hers to tell. A man that needs to know how to protect her to tame the wolf within him. Kitty had issues that haunted her. With the help of new friends, a vampire and Squatch, she’s able to to come to terms with her past and with the way that she was raised. She’s now able to understand her need for domination. She’s able to open her heart and love the way she wants to love.
Squatch needs to understand what is happening with Kitty. His wolf needs to protect her and there is no way to do that without the whole story. When he does find out, there is nothing that he won’t do to keep her safe, to help her gain her freedom and to love her that way that she deserves. Yes, he has some inner obstacles that he has to come to terms with and they find a way, together, to live with her need for independence and stripping. But, bringing the family together … overcoming the problems within the family … the truth about what really was happening … that’s what drew me in the most. I loved that Kitty was her own woman, stuck up for what she wanted and believed it; stood her ground when most would buckle. Yes, she had a lot of support and her strength was tested several times but, she did what she needed to do to help her people, the women and girls within her extended family.
I love that Candace brings in characters from other stories, other series and makes them integral parts of the current story. Kirsten, my Lion King (God, I love him) and a few other’s made me smile … it was nice catching up with them and seeing them within different settings. Candace knows how to tell us an interesting story and bring in the erotica right with it. The scenes in this story were wonderfully written. She knew just how to show us Kitty’s need for dominance and Squatch’s need to dominate and dole out the pain. She just knows how to write this right in with a love story that had me smiling. And, unlike some stories, the sex scenes weren’t thrown in for shock or just for the sake of having sex … they meant something, they added to the story and the love that they had for each other. But, I don’t expect anything less from Candace Blevins. She knows how to write an interesting, intriguing and erotic novel.
Who is this mysterious Squatch? He is huge, intimidating and sweetly thoughtful. When he decides to make a play for Kitty, he gets in way more over his head than he could imagine.
Buy this book now! It can be read as a standalone. And if you haven't read any books in this series, prepare to want to read them all, including the tie in series. In this latest erotic romance from Ms. Blevins, comes forth two new characters. Squatch is the quiet type who is menacing and due to his size, people may think he is all brawn. He is more than that and he has friends in some unlikely places. He is a complex character I like. He is a dominant without being domineering. He likes his sex kinky and that is delicious to me. Kitty on the other hand... her life has been a trial.
Kitty is a survivor. She impresses me with her ability to adapt and find the right people to help her. Her support system comes from unconventional places, but they are strong and present went needed. Without giving any spoilers, she comes from a closed off family with a heavy hand in the worst parts of patriarchy and sadism. Frankly, I'm shocked she isn't a bit more crazy and dysfunctional. And this is why I love Ms. Blevins's writing style. She takes hard real life situations and finds unconventional ways to overcome the challenges. The characters are well developed, likeable and are flawed. And they are okay with it. It is all about matching up with a person who will accept you for who you are. This underlying message of acceptance is elegantly presented each and every time.
This love story is more than sexy kink and sweet romance. It is a tale of growing up and becoming more. The character development which involves highlighting issues within different groups is amazing. The way people of different backgrounds and beliefs pull together to solve a problem is a model we can all learn from and mirror. Ms. Blevins may show the horrors of humanity, but she always tempers it with people who are helpers and fixers. She takes stereotypes, plays with it and makes it more. Adding in a great plot line and strong secondary characters, this makes a winning combination.
There are so many scenes and pieces to this story I enjoyed and re-read. I wish I could mention them without any spoilers. I highly recommend this erotica romance to readers who want strong characters with shady pasts and desire for a better future.
There was a lot covered in this one and a bunch of it went beyond my comfort zone. I really liked Kitty, liked how calm she was at the start, pretty sure I wouldn't have been. Calling Squatch for help was a good thing and it allowed the two of them to talk and see if both were interested in exlporing their mutal attraction.
I liked the two of them together, thought they did a great job of talking things through, even when they had to skirt around things they weren't able to talk about. Both were honest about that, flat out saying they couldn't talk about things. But the more that we learned about Kitty's background, the more outraged I got. I sort of wished we could have learned it all at once, would have been better for me, but it didn't happen that way and it really bothered me what happened to Kitty and how now she had to fight for any semblence of freedom and then how after she told the truth it was like she wasn't believed until it came from a male's mouth. I will say that the person that did themselves in got what they deserved, even as it was a bit much for me.
Much the same could be said about Brooke. We got to see her more in this one. I really liked the relationships she had with Kitty and Squatch, liked that both were open and questioned Brooke about things, but the outings they went on, I don't know why, they sort of bothered me, but not as much as knowing how much Brooke enjoyed torture, although with her victims I wasn't too upset about it.
This one ended about as good as it could have with all that happened and had to be negotiated. I liked seeing things work out and for Kitty and Squatch to be happy.
Every time I immerse myself in The Wonderful World of Blevins, I find my imagination triggered in the most unique manner. At the same time, it doesn't feel impossible. It feels practically-plausible-in-every-way, and I am all about this spoonful of sugar!
Once again, supernatural setting notwithstanding, the characters take you on a life-journey that is sometimes dark, sometimes fraught with danger and impossible obstacles, but never a lone journey. Partners, friends, brothers and the odd little bit of magic ensure that no one walks alone.
In this monster-dough series, I am giddy about two main characters that are utterly favourites in a book-world full of treasures. I had all the feels tickled in a repeat wash, rinse and spin cycle of "what next?" I got to meet new characters, revisit old characters, hate new baddies and love me some deep-dark in my perennial favourites.
And still, at least while the "pages" turn, it all feels as though it could, or maybe should, be real.
I really enjoy a good paranormal combined with a Motorcycle Club and this is one of that type. We have various Shifters and an MC and it is really excellent, plenty of smutty scenes including butt stuff and some action as well. With a really good HEA
Kitty is an incredibly strong young woman. She’s escaped from a traumatic situation and is doing well for herself. She’s learned it isn’t weak to accept help but she understandably has trust issues. One of the few people she trusts is Squatch. Squatch’s wolf is intrigued by the tigress and their chemistry cannot be denied. This story will suck you in and keep you enthralled till the very end. This is an emotionally tough book that may have triggers for victims of sexual abuse.
First, you do not need to have read the other RTMC, Only Human, or RTMC Birmingham books, but it will make for a richer experience if you have. Also, be aware that you will be getting some HUGE spoilers if you read any of the RTMC Birmingham books before you real the entire Only Human series. I have read all of Only Human and scattered books from RTMC, but this is my first Birmingham book, and I don't believe I was missing any vital backstory.
One of my biggest positive feels about this book is that In typical Candace Blevins style, you actually get a couple in the lifestyle who COMMUNICATES! It is so refreshing to have an author address the real meat of a relationship which involves a power exchange. If they aren't honest with each other, and openly talk about issues and work on trust, the relationship isn't going to work. You can have an incredibly sexy scene, but if that aspect isn't included, I sort of have one eye squinted in disbelief that the relationship has a chance. Don't worry - this couple hit all the buttons, enough angst to keep the story moving, plenty of sexy times, and a nice focus on how those talks could happen without toppling the power balance.
Don't get me wrong - there is more here than just a bunch of talk. The book has 2 sexy main characters, we get to see all the side characters that we love (or that you will want to know more about if you are new to these series), and there are enough sexy times to keep me happy. I'll admit that this installment fell a little short in action for me, but this is the 1st of the Birmingham chapter I have read, and knowing where in this world's timeline Squatch falls, this may be a needed lull before winding up to something else. The original RTMC and Only Human are chock full of paranormal politics, world building, and action scenes, and there is an arc which spans over both series which I missed here.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SQUATCH" (ROLLING THUNDER MC BURMINGHAM) Candace Blevins did a wonderful job writing this excellent story full of suspense, angst, intrigue, hot steamy sizzling sparks flying scenes, tears, emotional drama, sexual abuse, twists that make for one addicting read. Kitty is a Tiger Shifter who escaped a horrific life she's hired by Rolling Thunder MC'S as a dancer but she didn't tell them her secret the brother's have a code they don't date the employees but when Squatch sees her dance she's entirely different on stage as off she is actually very bashful and trust issues. One night at the club Kitty finds herself in trouble the MC'S tell all employees their under their protection so because she drawn to Squatch from the beginning she trusts him and goes to him for help. Squatch and Kitty can't avoid the chemistry between them he wants her and us willing to give her all the time she needs he knows she has secrets he can wait for her tell him but we Kitty takes off his wolf is frantic to find her. Kitty's secrets get revealed and we see why she kept them secret she has to prove her independable and worth against Squatch better judgement he let's her he's willing to do anything to prove his love. Kitty eventually realizes that Squatch is all she needs their trust for one other will give them the new life they both desire. I defintely recommend to get this extremely well written story following Kitty and Squatch journey to get a HEA and I enjoyed the secondary characters from previous stories and the epilogue tied everything together it's a must have book you just can't miss getting. PHENOMINAL READ!!!!
Biting my fingers to keep from typing spoilers, but this book is not for the delicate reader. I had to cover my eyes several times and peek through my fingers. Loved Squatch and his fierce protectiveness with the beautiful and exotic Kitty. Even better that it couldn't all be his way or the highway, and that they both had to make their compromises on their journey together. Candace Blevins brought a whole new interesting twist to her universe...and I hated and loved it throughout the book. That doesn't make sense here...but will when you read it. AND...I hit chapter 17 and just kept reading with a big ridiculous grin on my face. My hubs kept wanting to know what I was smiling about, but I told him I would explain it when he was older. (He's only 70.) I do have to say that EVERYONE seems to have top-notch communication skills in these books....way better than mine will ever be. These insanely perceptive shifters would totally rule our world. Grateful I don't have to argue with them in real life. I'd never win. The world of Kitty is the biggest component in this story, but I adored the unusual relationships being forged by the end of the book. Great wrap to the book and I truly appreciated having an epilogue. This book brings the best of old friends and new friends together.
I've read most of the author's books up to this point. She has consistently provided complex female characters in each series. I would put Kitty close to the top of that list. She grew up a cherished princess, yet in her culture that didn't save her from brutal sexual abuse. As an adult she's trying to find her own way, yet so much of who she is is bound up with the skeletons of her past. The author did a good job delving into her past abuse and relating it to her need to submit as an adult. Kirstin, from Only Human, was of course a nice addition to that mix.
The story itself was well written. There were several parts that were tough to read, but very necessary to get a true feel for the characters. I like that Brooke was able to be more involved in this story. I really liked the relationship she was able to form with both Brooke and Squatch. She's such an interesting character, with evil vampire one minute, then sweet child the next. Too bad her child body makes it tough for her to get her own book.
This book introduced several new characters, and left a lot of possibilities for future books. I am definitely left looking forward to the next book
I loved Brooke ever since we met her in Becca and Kendric’s trilogy, and I loved the dynamic she had with these two. I loved seeing had finally have more friends, that aren’t scared of her.
I think this MC series (well I get the feeling so far) is a lot better than her other MC series, which I found quite average and just a bit too much. Like yeah, I read them, but more bc I was interested in seeing the world building (also she has a tendency to name drop characters in other books, so I wanted to get a better understanding of who everyone was.)
While this story was heartbreaking, I felt like her submission was more authentic. My issue with the other series was essentially a bunch of macho men forcing women to sexually submit to them bc that’s what they like. And eventually the women grew to like it but most of them literally had to train themselves to reroute their concept of pleasure…. I never quite felt comfortable with that power dynamic 🤷🏽♀️
Loved seeing more of Kirsten, the amakhosi and Mordecai.
Given that it picks up directly after the war at the end of the only human series, it feels a lot better developed, and I think her writing has improved as well.
Each book in Candace Blevins' RTMC series whether Birmingham or Chattanooga is refreshingly unique. Her supernatural pairings sometimes make you go "huh" but they always work. The MC's own moral code and values of loyalty and protectiveness are ever present. With Squatch it's more about the personal journey of a woman reclaiming her life and independence from an oppressive and abusive upbringing. It's deeply emotional and sometimes brutally harsh but in the end triumphant.
Squatch and Kitty's relationship begins with an emergency request for his help. His caring nature in the aftermath of the incident embolden Kitty to declare her feelings. She wants a sexual relationship. He wants so much more. His no nonsense strict Dominance calls to her submissive nature but her trust issues run deep. Squatch steadfastly supports Kitten even though it puts him at odds with his wolf at times and in doing so builds trust and love between them. Kitty finds a family in the MC and new found friends in other supernaturals who stand by her side throughout her journey.
Woohoo! Another RTMC story! I’m now in a quandary as to which of the four currently in the series I like best. Prior to “Squatch”, I would have said “Frost” as I really enjoyed his sadism, but “Squatch” brings in some much loved (and feared) characters from the Kirsten universe and that was so much fun to read and catch up. If you’re a regular reader of Ms. Blevins PNRs, then I think this one will also become a fave of yours too. And of course, this wouldn’t be a Candace Blevins novel without the inclusion of a seriously alpha anti-hero (but a hero nonetheless), a feisty heroine who is a bada$$ in her way, some seriously hot naughty bits (seriously!), and characters that you love to hate (or at least dislike intensely). Wrap those characters up in a compelling plot that makes for an absolute page-turner.
“Squatch” is part of her new RTMC Birmingham series, and while each story is a standalone, I’m loving reading them in order.
This is a powerful piece of writing! Ms Blevins loves her sad ists and she does them so very well! Here we have another one of the Birmingham crew, and again one with his very own flavor and dynamic. And him too finding a partner that needs what he has to give. On the one hand Ms Blevins manages to go into excruciatingly graphic detail in describing the "wrongs" as well as the mutually satisfying "right wrongs" (Word-acrobatics to prevent being censured!) And as always she manages this without having her h falling into the "victim" pit, or her H into the "monster" category, far from it! On the other hand she delivers satisfyingly detailed punishments. Also of the "good" and the "bad" kind. And then she gives those two an ending that will floor you with its blissful feeling Blevins style!
One of the things that I can always count on when reading a Candace Blevins story is that the leading lady will be strong, she will overcome some traumatic experiences with the help of those around her, especially Squatch.
Squatch falls for Kitty, a wolf and a tiger. She has many secrets that she cannot divulge because of she grew up. Their feelings are strong, so they are making it work
There are so many shapeshifter politics involved but I don’t want to spoil anything so you will just have to take my word, this book has some dark undertones but the end result is something that was deserving. It was great to some of our favorite characters make an appearance, I’ll leave that for you to find out. We were taking on a wild ride, some ups and downs, some unexpected turns but in the end love prevails.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Wonderfully brilliant! This story took some very complex emotions and situations and arranged them into an emotionally mature relationship. Kitty and Squatch had a connection from the first time they met, and they made sure circumstances allowed them to explore that. There were so many things that shouldn’t have worked between them, yet, they figured out ways so they could stay together. Kitty’s life story had me in tears, it made me angry, it made me want to fight back beside her. We got to connect with some old friends here, and I was completely on board with their actions. Squatch was so focused on Kitty, he went against his nature so he could be with her. The heart knows what it knows, and these two made sure they lined up everything so they could follow their hearts and be together
This year for me five-star reads had been a low number, to give a story 5 stars it captures it all in one sweet intense bundle. Ms. Blevins' pens another terrific MC shifter and it's right up there with the rest. this one just had a bit more, hmmm a bit more feeling? yep caught me in the feels with this one.
So many emotions at play, the brother knows the rules well of course and because the girl was one of there and needed a bit of help. Being there and doing that for her was what they did.
In the general sense of how things go when you spend time with a person, you kinda grow on them. Ah suki, suki now. *winks* Makes a wolf kinda sit up and take notice yeah?
well then if thing weren't a bit difficult the past being the past, just like a bad penny. What's left to do when you fighting skeletons and have trust issues? What's let to do when the pretty little dancer up and vacates... book..get...read. Another fun and oh so hot story, the author never fails to deliver her brand of style. Loved it.
What a great story of a tiger running from captivity, a wolf not sure about love & how they meet & get through the insanity of their lives.
Squatch is one of the RTMC. The biker club who is trying to rebuild after the big war.
Kitty has escaped from the ambush her special tigers live in. Their trying to build their species. To do so they “train the girls to be prepared. She gets a job stripping at the RTMC Blaze club.
What happens is an intense coupling between a Sadistic Dom & a submissive masochist. They are both hard headed & their coming together is great!!
I just love how Candace writes. Her knowledge of the lifestyle & imagination about supernaturals is amazing!!
Kitty doesn't trust many folks but she trusts Squatch. So when a problem presents itself she grabs the opportunity to get closer. But will she be able to accept the strings attached? I really enjoyed meeting Kitty and Squatch. Kitty is finding her way in a world she was ill equipped to handle. But she is no one's victim and I love her strength. I love her and Squatch together. You wouldn't think they would fit but Ms. Blevins somehow makes it work. I mean wolves mate for life and kitties don't...or do they? Ms. Blevins takes us on a wild ride as Kitty and Squatch navigate unknown territory. As they fight for a future together and a love that endures.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I completely enjoyed this book and found it to be a captivating story. Candace Blevins has a talent for writing epic modern fantasy / fairy tales for adults usually with a kinky twist. Mrs Blevins did a great job of pairing the main characters and then showing the challenges facing the two, to bring them closer together. I also really enjoyed many of the secondary characters as well as bringing in characters from her sister series that I love. All of this and much more makes it easy to recommend this book.
Squatch (Rolling Thunder MC Birmingham Book 4) by Candace Blevins is a fantastic shifter paranormal romance story that I have had the privilege to read. This is book number four in this fantastic series that I have fallen in love with. I am hooked on this series and can not wait to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about wolf shifters, tiger shifters and paranormal romance.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
***I voluntarily wrote this review for a free copy of the book. I really enjoyed the book. It was way longer than most of her novels so be aware. The main characters, Squatch and Kitty have mega chemistry; their issues were more related to her past than anything else. If you like supernormal romance with explicit dialogue then you will love this book. I recommend reading the series set in Birmingham in order but it’s not 100% needed. It’s a wild ride so brace yourself and enjoy the curves and minor/major bumps in their love story.
So far Squatch is my favorite. If you've never read anything by Candace Blevins, then read this one. He's called on to help Kitty one of the dancers at the club they own, because out of all the other members she trusts him the most. He's always had an eye for her but there's an unwritten rule/code that no brother can get involved with any of their employees. He knows that she's hiding something from him and the club but he intends to find out what. This is one book I recommend reading. It's full of twists and turns that make this a worthwhile read.
Candace has really step up her game I have love this series but she has made the last two book even better. Squatch has had his eye on his Kitty. with his helping her, it takes them on a really amazing adventure that was great. You know they feeling you get when you know the books about to end but you don't want it to . . . for the first time I was ok that the story ended it was a great ending and a story that keep you going in a good way.
This is my first time writing a review. I’ve read all of this author’s books, and they are all great ( she’s one of my favorite authors ), but this book was absolutely amazing!!! I was supposed to be working and I found myself saying I’m gonna read just 10 more mins... over and over again. This book was incredible and now I’m sad cause I have to wait on the next book. I’m going to back and reread the whole Birmingham RTMC series again! Great job!!
Amazing! Every new book reinforces why I love Candace, the RTMC and all things of this world. Kitty and Squatch are quite the pairing and I loved seeing their relationship develop. As this world continues to evolve and we see how the new chapter grows I'm drawn deeper into their universe and I want more. I loved seeing Kirsten pop into the RTMC world and catching up with her a bit. I need more Birmingham and the rest of the RTMC too!
It's a romance with sizzling heat, dirty naughtiness and a taboo edge and I loved it. She's one of those independent females and he's a huge Alpha male that Ms. Blevins creates for us magnificently. How can you not fall in love with these characters. You cannot go wrong reading it. Along with the steamy passion, there's conspiracy and suspense to intrigue you. This book is an absolutely must have.
