Siren Song is the third book in The Chameleon Effect series, and although we still have Idris and Cadi, Rowan and Connell take the front. They were a matched pair but were separated, neither of them old enough to properly remember the other. When Cadi and Rowan end up going to LA to meet up with Idris, Rowan feels the pull of her crystal and searches for her other half. Unfortunately, due to circumstances in book two, Rowan suffers from PTSD which does have consequences for her.

At first glance, if it looks like a human and talks like a human, you wouldn’t generally assume that it would be anything other than human, right? Now, if you saw someone with an ability to do things that were unnatural or completely morphing into something with scales, what would you think then? Would you think that they were still human? Hayes will continue to entertain, mystify, and captivate readers in the third installment of The Chameleon Effect series.

loved this book. I love the concept behind the series. I love the character development and the new characters we meet along the way. I look forward to the next book in the series. I would not recommend reading this book before reading book one (Silken Scales), but both this book and book one ended well without leaving you hanging on a cliff hanger. I feel like you probably could read this book without reading book one first, but it is definitely more enjoyable with the background laid down in

I have really enjoyed the first two books in the series. I was concerned after finishing the second book when it became clear that we were going to be meeting all the other children. I was worried that the stories were going to become formulaic as the characters meet their mates. I was so pleasantly surprised at how different Connell and Rowan's story was. (Also the story in Golden Thread is original, too. You should read it!) The character development is fantastic and you really care about thes

This is the third book in this series. Connell has a secret that only his best friend knows. Rowan has a secret too. When they meet, the sparks fly. Unfortunately Rowan believes that Connell already has a love interest. As the plot thickens, so does the action making it very hard to put this book down.

Alex Hayes you did it again, amazing work! I really enjoyed the first two books and this one. I can not get enough. The characters and the story line are great. Well written with romance and adventure. Connell and Rowan will have you turning pages. I received an ARC for an honest review and I loved it!

Great addition to an ever growing series. It works as a stand alone but is better if you've followed the journey. Can't wait to see what happens next in their journey of discovery and survival

Opinions: Siren Song was very, very similar to Silken Scales and Perfect Pitch in all ways: writing style, themes, and my opinions. This series by Alex Hayes has amazing reviews from other readers, but unfortunately, it's not my cup of tea. I was still unable to enjoy the read, stay engaged, or appreciate any of the positive elements (such as the themes) because I found the creatures to be odd, the writing style to lack fluidity, ...more

Alex Hayes lives in a castle. Not one of those dark, damp ones in England (or Scotland, even) where it rains all the time, but a white one with the view of a volcano where it’s sunny 364 days out of the year.
She hosts four cats. One white queen. Two black knights. And a ginger jester, famed for her impressive backflips and pirouettes.
Alex is considering turning her castle into a cat sanctuary. It ...more
