Snowed Under is the sixth book in the Maggie McDonald cozy mystery series written by Mary Feliz. I've previously read the earlier books in this series, and when the latest one became available, I quickly grabbed a copy. It was the best one in the collection thus far, and I'm excited to share more about it.

Maggie takes a trip with her good friend Tess to Lake Tahoe to prepare her second home for an upcoming sale. Tess needs money for her son's college education, and the house brings up memories o
SNOWED UNDER by Mary Felix is the sixth book in the Maggie McDonald cozy mystery series. This is the second book in the series that I have read. A few of the same characters from book five showed up, but there were largely new secondary characters since this one does not take place in Maggie’s home town.

Maggie McDonald is a professional organizer and agrees to help her friend Tess de-clutter her Lake Tahoe home in advance of selling it. However, when Maggie ends up finding a body in a snowdrift

I was drawn to this book because of its cover. However the story is so much more than pretty dogs in the snow. Maggie's trip to Tahoe with her friend Tess to clear out a family vacation home topped off with skiing with the family turned into dealing with a blizzard, murder, illegal activities and explosions.

The story was an engaging read from the very beginning and it had such vivid descriptions I found myself feeling winter even though it was actually a hot summer day for me. I also really enj

In this sixth book of the series, professional organizer Maggie McDonald travels with her friend Tess to her family cabin in Tahoe. Tess wants to prepare it for sale so she can have the funds to send her son to college; there are also the family memories she shared with her late husband. But when they arrive, they find the body of a missing neighbor and spend the time trying to solve his murder and wait out the fierce snowstorms.

I've read several of the prior books in the series and this can be

Snowed Under is the first book I’ve read in the Maggie McDonald Mystery series by Mary Feliz and I am so happy I did. It was perfect timing too since Wisconsin was going through a heat wave and Lake Tahoe during the winter months helped to keep my mind off the heat. In regards to the snowy, icy weather Feliz really put you into the action with the descriptions of the weather, snow gear, and the treacherous conditions that can happen while walking or driving in the winter.

And for me a good cozy

Maggie McDonald is a professional organizer, who goes to her friends Lake Tahoe home to clear it out in preparation of selling it. After finding a dead body, Maggie and her friend Tess look into the murder on the close knit street.

I have to say, one of my favorite things was the description of life in a ski resort town. Much of the book takes place during a fierce winter storm, and seeing how the neighbors look after each other was very heartwarming. I live where it doesn't snow, so life in a sn

Snowed Under is a great addition to this series by Mary Feliz.
Professional Organizer Maggie McDonald is heading for the slopes with her friend Tess, who needs Maggie's help to prepare her winter home for sale.
Driving through white out conditions in an unknown area has Maggie clutching the steering wheel in fear, but once she reaches her destination, she feels the tension slowly dissolve, knowing the worst has past.
Poor Maggie! Stumbling upon a body is not part of the plan, but when she discovers
I read this exciting new Maggie McDonald mystery in the heat of a summer desert, where few settings sound better to me than a snowy mountain getaway. Except, perhaps, a February snowstorm in the High Sierras. The characters are defined well through their actions and conversations. Maggie can’t seem to go anywhere without finding a mystery! This murder is hard to solve, and they learn there is dark side of crime in this little community that they had hoped was left behind in the Silicon Valley.

I thought this book was great. But I felt it was missing the love interest connection since her husband and kids were stuck at home while she waited out the multiple storms.

The premise: Professional organizer, Maggie McDonald travels to her friend's ski cabin in order to assist her with organizing and letting go of all things that had accumulated there over the years. Tess thinks she is ready to move on and put the cabin up for sale. However, the discovery of a dead body in their cul de

Maggie is back and this time she is helping her friend Tess clean out and organize the family ski cabin to prepare it for sale. What could be better than a working vacation to the beautiful mountains in Tahoe to a sleepy resort town, but all is not as it seems as there is something very sinister bubbling beneath the surface especially after Maggie literally falls on a dead body! I absolutely love the characters in this series! Not only is the main character a likeable woman, but a competent and ...more

I enjoyed Snowed Under, the latest book in the Maggie McDonald Mystery series. I have read a few others books in this series and I really like Mary Feliz's writing style. I found this to be a fun and entertaining book. In this episode, Maggie and her friend Tess are in Lake Tahoe to help prepare Tess' house for a possible sale. But, things don't go as planned. There is a bad snowstorm on the way there and more storms during the week. Maggie discovers boots sticking up from the snow. Maggie ends ...more

Neither snow, nor ice, nor wind, nor avalanche shall stop professional organizer Maggie McDonald in her quest to shovel out a killer. This well-plotted mystery kept me guessing all the way! Another fine edition to the Maggie McDonald Mystery series.

Snowed Under is the 6th book in this series. Although I have not read the others in this series, the author does a great job explaining the characters and some of their history together solving previous mysteries. I felt like I knew the characters from the beginning.

Mary Feliz’s new book, Snowed Under, was a particularly wonderful mental vacation from the pandemic for me. For a few hours a day, I could escape from reality and relocate to a snowy mountain in Lake Tahoe. The book kept my attention during a very stressful period when I was finding it hard to focus on anything. If you had half as much trouble concentrating as me when this first began, you understand what this means about how much I like this book. The plot, the characters, the pace, everything ...more

Snowed Under is the sixth book in Mary Feliz’s Maggie McDonald Mystery series. The author’s writing is descriptive, making me feel as if I was experiencing the cold, wind, and snow along with the characters as several blizzards hit the area. The book is well written, with well-developed characters, and flows smoothly at a steady pace, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.

Here we are with the 6th book in this wonderful mystery series. Poor Maggie - if she had any idea of what was in store for her she might have stayed in bed, as they say. Tess is a recent widow and she wants to clear the house of clutter so she can sell the house and move on to the next chapter of her life. Sounds like a plan until the weather turns to an almos ...more

While Tess' mountain cabin is covered in snow, the body of a missing man has been uncovered. Now the blizzard has Maggie and Tess stuck on the mountain, trying to organize both the cabin and their pool of suspects.

This being the first of this series I've read, it slowed me down a bit not being familiar with the characters, but the actual plot moves along quickly. There was great description, I felt like I was really on a snowy mountain in the middle of a blizzard. I enjoyed reading about the can

This 6th book in the Maggie McDonald series does not disappoint! It is a slight departure from the usual, as Maggie and her friend Tess drive to the Tahoe area to clean out Tess’s vacation cabin. Separated from home and family, driving into a blizzard that turns into multiple storms, Maggie still manages to find a body.
The dependence of neighbors on each other is tested as Maggie and Tess assist the sheriff to try to solve the mystery so that Tess can move ahead with selling her cabin. There is

Maggie heads to a resort community near Lake Tahoe to help her friend clean out the friend’s vacation home in order to sell it. They get very little cleaning done. Instead, they discover a body in a snow bank, and feel compelled to solve the mystery.

I have really enjoyed the first five books in this series. They have been well written and the main character, Maggie, strong, kind, fun and realistic. In this book she on occasion felt less so, actually verging on thoughtless to rude with comments made to other characters who were strangers to her but friends of her good friend, Tess. A times, I didn’t even feel any true or deep closeness between Maggie and Tess, who have been through very difficult times together.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really liked it. The title really fit the book and the snow felt like it's own character in a way, directing the action in the story. I also loved the cover. Maggie and Tess are at a ski cabin in Lake Tahoe, where Maggie is going to help Tess clean it out to get it ready to be put up for sale. I always enjoy the Maggie McDonald Mysteries but Snowed Under was different from the rest for a number of reasons. As Maggie heads to Lake Tahoe to help her friend, Tess, get a house organized and ready to sell, the rest of the McDonald clan stays home. Maggie who is usually very even keeled and organized is off-kilter for most of the book. Identifying the killer of one of Tess' neighbors is a more difficult trek for our intrepid amateur detective and I certainly wouldn't have guessed who the ki ...more
