Kristen has come fully into her dragon power. And just in time, because enemies are gathering.

A war for control of the planet is brewing - one which would devastate dragon and human alike!

The Mage assassins are no longer content to hide in the shadows. Their day has arrived, and they will rise to remake the world into a place without dragons.

First they will need to contend with the Steel Dragon, either by drawing her into their web - or killing her. Kristen has proven herself a hard target to take down, again and again. But when offered a choice between the survival of humanity and dragon kind, how will she choose? Blood, or family?

Maybe she'll pick neither. Maybe Kristen will elect to forge her own path, to make her own destiny. But if she does, she will face opponents from both sides!

That's OK with her.

But she'll need every ally and friend she's met, if she's going to unravel the centuries-old schemes finally coming to fruition and stop the war before it can kill everyone she's ever loved and destroy the world in the process.

This series keeps getting better!

I thoroughly enjoy how this story keeps morphing and evolving in sophistication. The moral questions it provokes are excellent. I will be immediately downloading book 4. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful Steel Dragon story

Finally someone to actually trust and believe what Kristen has been saying in the dragons. Solving one problem and get to work on another. Exciting, thrilling, making new friends, danger, and unexpected closeness. Thrilling ride in this story.

This series gets better as it goes on!

Kristen Hall, the Steel Dragon, has an unenviable task. She has to combat both human technomages and hidebound dragons to try to resolve the ancient divide between them. The dragons are so stuck in the past that they refuse to accept that humans have found a way to kill them. They still bind the powers of most mages and look on them and the rest of humanity as servants and cattle.
Amy Williams is a ‘normal’ young woman until two arrogant dragons decide to fight over her family home. When she thinks that her parents are dead because of them she loses her temper and kills them both. Not with the new techno age weapons but with her own power. Since she had no idea that she was a mage she is confused, scared and grieving for her parents. When the news gets out of two dead dragons Windlock, the dragon investigator, takes Kristen and his mage to investigate.
They are not the only ones who find out.
Constance, the leader of the technomages, has built up contacts throughout North America and is determined to start a war between the dragons and humans. Kristen considers that a war will decimate both humans and dragons and wants to find a way forward that will see equality between both races.
This is not the end.

Great entertainment

No politicians, drama queens, gratuitous sex & violence, & a human mother ready to wash her adopted daughter's (now the Steel Dragon) mouth out with soap if she uses foul language.
There is plenty of action & intrigue. The story is non stop edge-of-your-seat entertainment sprinkled with pizza & paintball. It is kept believable (within the created universe) & evolves slowly. Yes, Kristen Hall seems to be promoted as fast as Honor Harrington🙈🙉🙊, but the authors have covered that very well. Some of the good people are killed off, but it is no where near like the current trend of killing everyone & leaving the last survivor coughing out their life's blood mumbling we won.
The good win & it is an uplifting story that makes you cheer instead of wanting to end it all like after reading 25% of Tolstoy.
I am definitely going to check out their other books.

Lots of action!

The Steel Dragon continues to work for both humans and dragons. After her SWAT squad suffers injuries when a bomb goes off, Kristian is recruited to help an investigator who answers directly too the dragon council. Following her many adventures that take her to multiple problems, most caused by the terrorist group of tecnomages who are making bullets that can lol dragons.
Love the action which is well written and the light touch of humor. The characters of both the human and the dragons are developed and refined as each book in the series ads more.
Looking forward to the next book, and think this book is a definite winner. Be prepared to be glued to this sorry, I read deep into the night until I reached the end. You won't be disappointed!

Growing pains

Kristen is learning more about her powers, and is also learning more about human nature, dragon nature, and that the two overlap. She’s prepared to fight for those she feels obligated to protect: her people and dragons.

We are thrown into the action right away as we first hear about Amy. Kristen has to come to terms with life not being black and white, but shades of grey. She still strives to do what is right to ensure that justice prevails, however she is learning some temperance along the way.

Kristen finally comes into her own, working with dragons and humans and mages, and is now set to take on all of the technomages: with the help of her friends.

This book and series is totally awesome.

Have you ever looked at a book and said what's Mike doing involved with Dragons? I bought the book and put it in the "Books to Read" section of kindle. Last week after a blitz of new books I found myself with a What now moment. I looked in my "to read file" and saw Steel Dragon. So I read it. Mind blown. Finished book 1, then picked up books 2 & 3. Longer books than most. This series is beyond cool. Can't wait for Kevin to kick out another! Kevin, I'm now a fan for life. Onward😎

The best one so far

This edition was action packed and full of tension. The strongest parts were those when each of the dragon and human characters personalities and fleshed out stories (mostly) were told. The introduction of the natural Mage Amy really added to the story. The only juxtaposed element was Kristen’s manifestation of strength and natural leadership with debilitating (almost) bouts of self loathing. Did not understand it, felt out of place.

Overall, mostly excellent. Starting book 4.

I started this series quite a long time ago and found the first book to be okayish and the second to be somewhat underwhelming. So then I more or less put the series on hold. A couple of week ago I decided to give it another go and started to read the third book in the series. Luckily I found it fairly read worthy. It’s a quite decent 4 out 5 stars entry.

I do like Kristen as the main protagonist. She is not the most kick-ass main protagonist around but she is good enough. She doesn’t whine all the time and, well, in general I like her. There’s plenty of likable, or at least interesting, characters around. Both dragons and mages. Oh, and of course her old human colleagues in her SWAT team.

The least likable character is the bad guy, Constance, who is an absolute psychopath that reminds me way too much of the lunatics that are occupying, looting, killing and burning indiscriminately in certain cities in the US nowadays.

The story is fairly okay and is indeed progressing at a reasonable pace with a good mix of action, dialogue and “story glue”.

There is a bit of woke ramblings, negotiate with terrorists, them “seeing the injustice…” and a bunch of such like woke bullshit but then the story has a lot of social undertones in it, which is unfortunate, but filtering that out and focusing on the action, the characters etc… what remains was quite okay as far as I am concerned.

So I guess I’m continuing this series now that I’ve picked it up again. It is also a quite large book weighing in at 700+ pages.

Awesome book!

Another awesome book in the Steel Dragon series! Lady Steel is the perfect heroine. Bold, gutsy and principled. She is coined by the perfect villain, Constance. A radicalized idealist willing to use violence to reach her goals. Keep churning out the awesome stories guys!

Detailed and complete

From battles to flying to spells and abilities. Steel Dragon series is very detailed in the story. Long, yes, but from build up to climax and in between, the series carries you into modern day Dragon and human fantasy with real world cause and effect, action and consequences

A Great Read

Not only is this book a great read to follow on from the previous two but is a worthwhile part of the series and very meaty with more than enough action and thrills to keep you going page after page. Not even sure about rhe wait for books 4 except it will seem far too long.

Excellent series

I was a bit skeptical when I started the series. Now I want book 4. A really fast and enjoyable story. Yes, a bit predictable, but the cast of characters are likeable. While this book wraps up the initial story arc, the door is wide open for a continuation.

Great improvement over the both first and especially the second book with the introduction of Windlock, Larry and Amy.
The main plot is getting boring with Constance being the ongoing antagonist.
Time to wrap up the series before it reaches its final "sell by" date.

Please - no spinoffs, as they become boring really quickly. Same plots different characters and settings - not MA.

Great book

This is the third book and it did not disappoint waiting for number 4. The book and story line were great. The creative characters were great i felt like I knew them all. I did shed a few tears when the investigator died in the end. The whole crew dragons and humans are really getting it together.

Fun and sad.

The story is more intense as the stakes keep getting higher. Kristen gains more stature among dragons and some power to try to enforce her vision of justice. Somehow I'm sure she'll succeed in bridging the gaps between species. Looking forward to seeing her solutions...

What a wild ride! Kristen continues to grow under the tutelage of her mentor Windlock. Her fight against the techmages is coming to a head. Who will come out on top? Read it yourself you will not be able to put it down.

My smoke signal

In my opinion:
Steel Dragon series should be at least 12 books long. A lot of growth is needed for Ms Hall, especially if she will take world leader role.
